After 2 days of using CM9, even my IMEI was gone, I feel like I'm in the heaven. Now I understand the real meaning of "full android experience".

Samsung, I like your body, but not your heart. biggrin.gif

not that.

you said you lost your IMEI, thats a bad thing, very bad thing
why are you happy over lost IMEI?
*
I think I posted about losing IMEI in a few posts back.
Lol at first I also very sad until want suicide when I realize I deleted original efs in attempt to recover IMEI back.
Luckily the WIFI and network all still works (With fake imei).
And this is why I flashed CM9 when I realize my phone warranty is gone.

And yeah I know how bad it is.
Should I sad forever for this? sad.gif

better for him to have EFS folder backed up!
*
Actually according to xda there, you still can save IMEI back even though you do not back up the folder.
The key is to replace the hidden file in efs folder and replace the file that take control of the fake IMEI.

I thought it was possible for you to recover IMEI even if you accidentally deleted it???
*
Actually the case is like this.
When I copied efs folder, I put in external sd. Then copied another one at desktop. I deleted the efs in external SD. Then I deleted original efs in root section and restarted the phone. Android then auto generate the folder.
But when I looked back to desktop, I realize PC didn't copy the hidden files!!! OMG!!
The key file is hidden one.
Then I stopped. I know I failed...

Actually I am following this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1264021
For those who don't know what am I talking about, please see this.

I don't think I can use back the ".nv_data.bak" that is auto generated by Android, ask it it is fake one also...

losing IMEI is sumthing serious, its the original and only ID, real ID of ur phone that u cant change..
it ACTUALLY IS A BAD THING TO LOST YOUR IMEI

Who knows that even on stock, IMEI will lost also?
Well I am an unlucky one...

Someone in XDA replied me this:
QUOTE
Not sure if its the same for galaxy s2 but when we flash back to froyo or gingerbread our imei gets properly regenerated. Then copy /efs and go back to custom rom!

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...48#post29511748
Do you think I should try?

Guy's I got a few scratches on my S2 original housing case, is there any replacement for it????

I saw the black paint is coming off, cuz I can see the metallic silver color beneath the coating of the housing case. sad.gif

Either you get a strong detergent to polish it, or use a good casing to cover it. biggrin.gif
I don't think replacement is a good way as $$$…

Talking about music player, I noticed that most of the music and video players do not support DSPManager. I must use the equalizer in the music player instead of using DSPManager. sad.gif

Added on August 4, 2012, 12:59 amDo you guys perform full wipe every time updating new version of CM9?

Currently on CM9, not sure if this problem is related to it.
Just now Whatsapp, Messaging and Google Search force close and force close each time I opened it.
Restarted the phone. Problem temporary solved.
Will report back if it occur again.

Btw, anyone face the same problem before?
Already posted the same thing on xda. biggrin.gif

If u meant u restored system app as well please do a full wipe and start all over again. Do not ever restore system app.
*

Err... Not sure. But my backup is from "Backup all user apps + system data" in TB. So I think TB did not backup system apps.

Then it's better that I install every apps back and restore only contacts and SMS?

Alright, downloading the latest nightly now. Wish me luck. tongue.gif

What you backup is not what you restore. Please at least be aware of what you are doing instead of just pressing buttons.

Safest is to just restore missing apps and data.

I got your meaning. Thanks for your advice.
