guys, nak opinion yg luar dari topik. dan tema thread ini
im looking to buy a new phone. and im tired of androids. as much as i love the integration it offers to my office env, i hate the fact that its not userfriendly from getgo. was waiting for a new google nexus, that was not announced .so now. i got three options.
a) get a windows phone. if i do, i'll get a nokia, but the current gen nokias are only upgradeable to 7.8
b) wait for windows phone 8. tak tau biler sampai malaysia
c) iphone4s . not sure to get contract or not if i go down this road, since maxis already giving me complimentary extra 2gb data plan with me paying for only 3 gb .
d) wait for iphone5 . assuming its announced in september, we would only see it by christmas or most probably, by track record, by march. other thing is, if i get an iphone4s, i can still sell it off and get the iphone5 since the second hand market for iphones are good.
e) android phones. i've been a user since 1.5 i've gone through every version up to gingerbread. my observation. since im using samsung. samsung phones are only stable with the original os that came with the phone. the moment you upgrade the firmware, whether third party rom or official firmware, something is bound to go wrong. most probably due to the r & d time for the subsequent firmware is less compared to when they were doing the first one.
to use an android, the best thing to do is to buy a nexus. but google did not announce a new nexus phone, they announced a freaking 7 inch slab.
plus, not sure if anyone realize this . the main issue with android is the by default multitasking feature that is the strong point of the linux based os. the thing is. in a phone, u dont really need that many things to run in the background. i would have prefer apps that run in background actually goes into suspend state. hence the reason why manufacturers keeps on increasing the number of cores and available ram and rom for the phones. its mengarut. i've overclocked my phone, formatted the storage and all that yada yada yada but at the end... just not worth it.
so, your two cents. windows vs ios. buy now, or wait. and why
