RM999 for a Lumia 800 is super worth it if you need a solid phone now.

I'd get it if only Lumia 800 has a sure way to interop unlock.

You can have screenshot feature in your phone with an interop-unlock device (Radar is capable of that). It's an app called screenshot capture.

First, Malaysian Airlines, now, Maybank.

When will Air Asia, GSC/TGV, shopping malls and other local businesses start to wake up to the rise of WP? biggrin.gif

Is WP8 update really that important? From what I see from the net, it doesn't seem much. But what I'm worried is the apps, simple apps like maybe (future la) ....air asia...MAS....GSC and other related apps can run on WP7 or not?
*
It's really hard to say in the future. If Windows 8 is the main driver for Windows Phone 8 (meaning developers are developing for Windows Phone 8 simply because they are ALREADY developing for Windows 8), then developers will take notice of that and simplify their coding through the 'shared core' that Microsoft was talking about.

By 'sharing a core', I believe this would mean an app that is compatible for WP7 will need to be separately built, meaning less developers will be interested in that extra work for a small market share. (WP market share is only around 1% now.)

But at the same time, Microsoft is continuing to recommend developers to use XAML/Silverlight to code apps for both WP7 and WP8. Microsoft is only recommending native code for game developers.

So it really depends whether companies will go all-in with 'shared core', or have some sort of separate development for all Windows Phones.

I think that's because Nokia Transit does not officially support Malaysia (though it does work, to a certain degree). I have a Lumia 800 with U.S. Marketplace, I can find it in the Nokia Collection. When I first launch the app, they will warn me that my location is not support, just ignore it and it can be used.

why need email for the FB notification while your ME Tile can show you all.
*
Not all, some notifications such as group postings etc will not reflect on the ME tile. Hopefully more extensive Facebook integration will come to WP8/7.8

I usually use touch.facebook.com on my phone to view Top News feed and Group updates.

It has its quirks, but it works. Hopefully WP8 with IE10 brings better HTML5 support. (With the help from Facebook folks, of course.)

Connection error all the time. Is the same happening for iphone and android? Or is it only us the unlucky and unwanted ones?

I bet the lumia 820 and 920 will arrive Malaysia next year January and February just like last year's Lumia 800. I think Windows Phone 8 will launch with Windows 8 in October 26th. And Lumia 820 and 920 is available in US first and then Europe. By that time reaches Malaysia, I guess it will be next year January.

Yeah I agree with your prediction, but if Nokia steps up their game it's possible for them to ship to Malaysia right before Christmas. (Same time with Singapore, perhaps.)

Anyone using whatsapp on WP7 (Lumia 800) here? Any problems?

Does notifications come on time? Is there bad battery drain? I know it's still using the Background Music API but it seems fine back when I was still using my Omnia 7.
