I'm sure they're starting to see the users already. Personally I'd prefer if they came out with proper mobile websites (since it's not like the app does anything special) but we take what we can get.

well, they did mention that mobile clients would still work for a while. I *hope* that includes windows phone clients.

When you force update, remember to set your phone to flight mode, I think it helps as well.
