QUOTE(miyakochan89 @ Jul 4 2012, 02:41 PM) Hello people, I am doing research on fast food restaurants or chains that have disappeared from Malaysia. Can anyone remember if there are other chains in the past that have already disappeared now? like: (Shakey's Pizza, White Castle or even A&W - disappearing...) Your help is much appreciated. Thanks! Thanks! A&W plans to close 24 outlets in Malaysia. Maybe MOS Burger, as it had an outlet in Suria KLCC before.

QUOTE(junky_man @ Jul 4 2012, 02:58 PM) now i know a lot of nuf*gs in /k/ for not knowing white castle was here in malaysia before. popeyes and carl's jr were here, disappeared, and not emerged again. since someone already mentioned Grandy's, another soon to be gone franchise (not fast food though) would be swensens. I haven't seen any other outlets in malaysia besides Subang Parade and Sg Wang. Popeye's still in Malaysia. Carl's Jr just opened their 7th outlet in Setia City Mall.

QUOTE(junky_man @ Jul 4 2012, 03:01 PM) Yup, before the re-emergence, they had opened an outlet in Sega City Sunway Pyramid which was subsequently closed down. >now you remembered Sega City in Sunway Pyramid. I only remember Sega City in Sg Wang (note that I was still living in Sabah that time)

QUOTE(junky_man @ Jul 4 2012, 03:05 PM) Sizzlers i dont remember, but i think my bro mentioned it before. LJS sayang woh no more. oooh....add this to the list. Fish & Co. only see at One Utama only. oh man, now you got me nostalgia'd about that place. Fish and Co is alive. Infact they just opened their 2nd outlet in peninsular in Paradigm. As usual, their first in 1 Utama is quite full during dinner time.

QUOTE(tsunade @ Jul 4 2012, 03:05 PM) most 2" dunno white castle existed before in malaysia. lol. their servings so tiny with their small square burgers. missed their chikin drummets though. the sauce really gooding! A&W may have downsized alot, but will never disappear one. malaysians are a greedy lot. they prefer to pay little and eat alot. BK, Carl's, A&W, all more expensive compared to McD for the same portion food. that's why their business like nyawa-nyawa ikan even though taste wise they're way better......... The high price of fastfood in malaysia made it worse. lol Carls Jr in Mid Valley always full. Carls Jr in 1 Utama has less business, though considered ok.

QUOTE(junky_man @ Jul 4 2012, 03:11 PM) aaaaaahhhhh....duly noted. i guess another outlet that hasn't been expanding, well in my current knowledge, is California Kitchen. There was an outlet in KLCC, but now shifted to Fahrenheit 88. Not expanding, but doing well in Fahrenheit. Expensive, but worth it.
