it doesnt have to be "trendy" by ur definition. it is a matter of personal taste. of course i myself do evolve from just wearing denims to falling in love with leather stuff which comes as a surprise. some of them do want to look old skool because for them it is what they are looking for in their fashion

its all about the satisfaction of stuff... and im telling u from my part... i dont wear it just to be "trendy" i wear it because of self satisfaction.

that's why I'm asking shouldn't 'looking good' be the first priority for buying all these high priced clothing? it doesn't has to be very trendy, but at least nice and match.

self satisfaction as in "yeah I bought a high quality jeans and a high quality boots, let's wear them together tomorrow!" or self satisfaction when you get to see and wear the broken in jeans/boots and you receive complement from people around you?

I'm picking up an example from this page, sorry to the bro if this is you. I like the boots and the jeans looks good, but doesn't it looks a bit awkward to you when matched together?
*
no... i dont think i looks weird.... it looks nice to me... looks unique and sturdy...

and thats what i want to point out...based on my personal experience ppl dont know what im wearing... and i dont care less if they want to compliment or hate my sense of fashion... because i just dont care what people say.

self satisfaction is when i know im wearing a good denim/boots/wallet/tshirt etc that is durable, tough and i can appreciate the workmanships and as well as its going to last for years to come. Hell i know i do not pay expensive just for the brand name... im paying for the quality it produced. that is my view on self satisfaction.

oh and thats not my pic... i wish it was... but sadly its not.... sweat.gif

oh well, I guess I'm in the wrong thread then. it's far from 'nice' imo. it doesn't match well, especially in the full body photo to me.

your self satisfaction is what I would call "too obsessed with quality" in my previous post. but of course if your preference is old school plus a bit of cowboy style, this should suit you well.
*
Obsess with quality? Yeah i think so. Ive been label with everything and that statement is not my 1st time i heard. I take that as compliment lol.
Actually i dont know what my preferences, i wear what i like to wear.

nope, i'm rocking Flat Head and PJB, they're not heavyweight iron heart but I wouldn't call them lightweight. and no I don't have alden, i'm more into redwings, dr.maten and desert boots. the thing is you should know how to match them. for example Wabash shirt looks way better when paired with a chino. and for the "jeans a lil bit hanging on top of the boots" picture, yes the cutting of the jeans is not suitable for it.

i'm fine with the pictures you posted as long as the guy is tall, but it's a big no to short people.

i'm a frequent reader in sufu and i'm aware of all the threads you shared, but are you wearing just because others are doing the same? there are plenty not-so-nice fit over there, some I would call ugly.

if u feel that way my man.... to each have their own opinion on what is ugly and what looks good on them... brows.gif

the only shops i know selling selvedge around kl/selangor are kronoz and scythe. Can anyone list other shops selling selvedge here? Please not bread and butter coz that place is too expensive.

Nudie and apc
*
There are not many shop carrying nudie or apc thats for sure. The biggest stock of nudie is only at bread and butter if im not mistaken. As for APC, i dont think i see any shop carrying it as far as i know of.

LOL. i never understand why people like nudie

they pay for a hefty amount of money but sometimes dont get selvedge :/
*
Well nudie pre 2005 is quite good actually. I also got 2 nudie one is grim tim dry selvedge which was my 1st selvedge and i really like the cutting also the detailling and also nudie grim tim black dry selvedge pre 2005 (was the last stock) and i got it for a dirt cheap price.
Decent 1st timer selvedge denim. Maybe i'll wear it today since its been sitting in my closet for such a long time
