The flip side of it is ...sometime 0% MF with 0 NV also can get rare from normal mob? Its all random bro. Luck...plays a big part.

Yeah. Totally agree. Even get rare also like "WTF is this. Ptui......" Not all my equipment are rares. Some are blue item.

Maybe you didn't kill all the elites. Sometimes one elite ran off somewhere due to people running in all different directions and then dying.
When I got no rare drop, I'd check around the map searching for the missing elite.

May be I missed that. What I normally check is to ensure 5NV before boss kill.

It happened to me uncountable times. Normally I play co-op in public games.
It is quite common to have all blue items with 5NV. All players in the game only had blue items too.

We're actually referring to boss fight (eg Butcher/Belial) instead of elite/champion fights, so with 5 NV, definitely you will get 2 rare.

But since you're on the topic elites, there is 1 type of mob in Act 2 that doesn't drop any rare even if they have died, the one that runs to you and kamikaze, I've met them like 3-4 times and they nv drop anything once. Maybe cause they commit suicide instead of me killing them.

Added on July 19, 2012, 4:37 pmMake sure it's a boss fight (like Butcher and Belial) not some cheapo purple mobs . So far, I've always get 2 guaranteed rare on boss and sub boss (Warden, Kulle, Cydaea). Maybe too many blues that you cant see the yellows? Haha.
