Yes..you can root your phone without using custom rom. Your binary counter will increase but you can reset it by using TriangleAway. Refer to 1st page on How To Root your SGS3. Good luck.. :-)

If you have patience then i suggest you wait for Note2. Otherwise buy S3 now then when Note2 release and if you still prefer bigger phones., sell your S3 and buy Note2. Need additional funds if you use this trading way :-))

Kies..you have to use PC. For OTA you have to wait until Samsung send the updates to your phone.

I never use Kies as it very un-reliable. Try look at Samsung official website OR Google it for downloading :-)

No need to root if you just want to install/flash updates or firmwares. Just download the firmware from Sammobile then flash it via Odin.

Refer to 1st page for list of apps that safe for removal.
Bloatwares = your un-wanted apps.
Actually bloatwares different for each person. Some app that you need/use can be consider bloatwares by others that have no need/un-wanted on the very same app. You freeze or un-install bloatwares to free up your RAM and make your firmware lighter.

MobileOdin cannot flash zip files. If the files come with flashable zip then you had to use CWM.

Too many duplicating things. Same like S2...the original development section is for those who create something new. For those who use other ppl creation then paste a bit here and there will be delegate to ordinary development section.

MobileOdin bug perhaps? Read it somewhere it has issues in flashing the tar modem files.

If you have full firmware then you can extract the modem and flash it by using MobileOdin. But if the files come for modem only then normally it already in flashable zip. No need to extract that flashable zip..just use CWM to flash it.

Hellcat KTool app now can be used on SGS3..!!
To all who have rooted their phone please install the above said app and use it to make your phone efs backup. Every rooted phone MUST have atleast one efs backup on their phone.
