I'm not complaining. Actually I want them to come in December if possible, because my current Streamyx 4mbps contract only ends at the end of December, unless someone can erm...advise me on how I can escape paying the Streamyx early termination charge (RM300?) haha!

The Thomson router comes with WPS turned on by default I believe. I don't have experience with this brand, but if it's like UniFi's DLink, then its security can be quite easily broken using reaver, so maybe as a checklist item we should turn this off? hmm.gif

Installed Maxis Fibre this morning, completed early afternoon at around 115pm, landed property. Had to pay RM500 to TM contractor because of non-standard installation. Went out to buy lunch, came back 45 minutes later, AUTH and LINK LED lights on Huawei *HG850a* [EDIT] modem not lit up anymore :-(

I would like to claim the record for the shortest period of being able to use Maxis Fiber since it was installed hahaha...

So now after calling the TM installer directly all I can do is look at the beautiful TM black colour Huawei modem, and the Maxis white colour Thomson router and black Aztech DECT phone...I hope this is not an indicator of my experience with Maxis for the next 24 months... cry.gif

Haha you're 2 weeks too slow to claim that title lol. I've gotten that already.

The guys didn't connect properly, can see their half-arse work.

I hope I don't have to wait another 1.5 months to get this fixed? tongue.gif

Managed to connect another DECT GAP compliant handset (Philips SE171) to the Aztech base station provided by Maxis. Apparently it supports up to 5 handsets, so you can mix and match brands as long as they're GAP compliant. So now you can have one handset in your living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom and main jamban tongue.gif

Mind explain how do you do that?

On the new handset that you want to add to the Aztech base station, go into its menu, and select "register" handset (the steps vary from phone to phone so I can't tell you exactly what you need to do). You then need to enter a PIN, 0000, and then after around 2-3 seconds, pull the power cable out from the back of the Aztech base station. This is because the base station does not have a separate button to pair with new handsets. Your new handset now may or may not beep indicating that it has successfully registered with another base station. In the case of the Philips SE171, it registered itself to the Aztech base station which it calls basestation 2 (I'm assuming basestation 1 is the Philips basestation).

Quite simple process really...

Yessir, correct! One Aztech base station serves two handsets - the (Maxis) Aztech one, and now the Philips SE171. I could've paired my Panasonic TGA131HM if I wanted to heheh
