your installation apa macam? try get near to tm & maxis. how they setup the fiber ONT & thompson route. this is very important. at least if minor prob u can resolve on own. do share it out incase if you forgotten. can refer to old post.

for those who have already installed ...wanna ask do they need to do drilling on the walls to install? i was told they may need to hack/drill the wall to make way for the fibre cable...is that true?
*
yes, they do. hopefully they don't drill the power line & pipeline on the wall. frankly speaking it is messy. after they drill they cover it with plaster. so you need to repaint on 2 sides. and if inner your wall is tiled.. do expect crack tiles which need to be replace.

no wonder i see some apartments got wires hanging for outside to inside. looks kinda messy. or maybe low cost.

others like wangsa maju apartment been around 20years. they need not drilling. as tm can patch from outside the fiber dist box.

yeah..i put a cooling pad also underneath the router coz it gets hot bloody fast!
need to find another 1 for the modem as well.
I use a hub for now coz limited usb ports at the router.
the password? how to put the +1?
*
so you get exact 10Mbps doing speedtest. any improvements? how about access to sites in USA ok ke?

another thing when tm do fiber cabling. you know the value of ?dBm on your fiber line. the highest the value your connection may not be stable in long run. or in optimal state can get 90% speed benchmark.

did not have the chance to have a loot at that 1..
did get about 9.2 - 9.6..
but can get 1.25 with IDM  smile.gif
it is the number before the "@home.maxis.com"?
*
for dBm you need to pujuk the tm fellas. nice to them give them drinks. then they tell you hehe..

1.25 is norminal. if you get 10+ below 11. it be slighly >1.25 with IDM.

of coz give them drinks..
hospitality from my house: a guest enters, must serve drink..
it should be above 20Db i guess
*
above 20dBm is ok. you get 90%+ speedtest.

but if above 25dBM, your ONT takes very long to online. tm keep quiet and advice users leave it ON. hehee. while in between u have many many probs. this is classified info.

what do u mean by "in between u have many many probs", & in betweem what?
i want to leave it always on..but wifi with my iphone sometimes lagging..
the router is at the centre of the house (top-bottom, front-back), at the stairs
*
let put it this way, TIME telekom installation they have a std termination on ONT at max 21dBM. which is why they are solid. i am not sure about your actual reading.

as for your reading you say around 20dB should be get good signal on your ONT. but what is exact value?

wifi lagging i experienced before. putting a small fan helps temporary. i changed the router it solved my prob.

when tm & maxis around. anyone ask why don't they configure the phone to ONT? why everything has to be on thompson router?

now it makes sense your thompson modem does most of the work. with phone, wifi ppl also complain lagging & many problems. what more if added with iptv.

tambah lagi public wifi..

can the router itself cope.

or users have to help ownselves.

Done my installation today afternoon, both Maxis and TM technician came on time, the installation took around 1 hour ++ for high rise building, everything went smooth, download speed got around 10mbps ++ and upload speed around 13mbps ++ while ping around 15++ through speedtest.net. Overall very satisfy with their services up till now, the technician are friendly, that's why put an "Awesome work" comment for them on the satisfaction form.
*
you are very lucky. for due reason fiber termination to your VDSL is good. meaning to say you got <20dBm.

mostly people just come here to complain how bad maxis fibre are...
when it's good those people with vanish into thin air...
1)no capping implement yet
2)international ping is not very good at the moment
3)web surfing is fine/excellent most of the time
4)you can use custom router and you need to keep the default router for voip
5)no throttling at the moment
6)not sure... disconnect issue seems to be causing by the sh1tty thomson router(overheat easilly)
7)depends on where you stay... high rise building will need to use your RJ11 port for vdsl and landed property you can get another line with no problem
*
keep the router for voip is not everybody option. my only hope is when manufacturers like asus or tplink for example. they make customized router with voip. allowing users full control over functions. you see the table will turn around against tm unifi.

maxis fiber is still new. while tm unifi has majority of users. it's just matter of time i no idea.

it is very week..need to put an access point as supporting..
if not, handphones will not be able to connect
The VOIP & internet has no connection..even if ur internet is down, the VOIP still cn use..

my issue ald resolve..port problem..
after they reset, all done..
*
add access point leceh ini. have more wiring and interconnect device with additional power point. if your AP taps on thompson. it depends on thompson too. if that thing f*ck up and down. your AP also affected.
