QUOTE(kenjixx @ Jul 6 2012, 10:46 AM) mostly people just come here to complain how bad maxis fibre are... second this. line is good for me so far.. no issues... torrent is stable 1.2MB/s... play D3 no lag... youtube no need buffer...when it's good those people with vanish into thin air... 1)no capping implement yet 2)international ping is not very good at the moment 3)web surfing is fine/excellent most of the time 4)you can use custom router and you need to keep the default router for voip 5)no throttling at the moment 6)not sure... disconnect issue seems to be causing by the sh1tty thomson router(overheat easilly) 7)depends on where you stay... high rise building will need to use your RJ11 port for vdsl and landed property you can get another line with no problem |

QUOTE(spirit818 @ Jul 9 2012, 10:36 PM) my house is landed wifi reception better after switched from channel 8 to 11.. but still got internet disconnectionsss...the tm contractor offer RM380 for the installation because they say the cable need cross over ceiling... (external box straight into ceiling, then come out to 2nd floor living room) then after nego with them, discount to rm200 and the receipt i get is jor normal receipt, not from TM or Maxis, duno kena con or non standard installation... DDL surely fail... anyway, i got charged RM250 as well... non standard on landed property... my backyard telephone hole was cemented due to renovation done... |

QUOTE(Isky @ Jul 22 2012, 05:16 AM) You know, when the Maxis RM118/10MB promotion came out, I almost signed up for it, but decided to wait and see when people warned me of the famous Maxis "hidden clause/ hidden cost" issue. When the promotion ended, I felt like I missed out on a great deal, and was rather upset with myself for not taking up the offer. I was even contemplating forking out for the RM148/10MB offer. But having read your account, I'm glad I didn't sign up. Even during the worst days of my streamyx experience, I've never had to deal with this kind of incompetence in dealing with Streamyx's 100 helpline. I'm not saying that they are competent - just that this whole thing about appointment being set from 5pm to 7pm to 8pm smells to me very much like an organization which is currently out of its depth, having overstretched its CS capabilities and currently being inundated with service issues and customer complaints. well, i am using Maxis FTTH now..Frankly, the RM118 always sounded like it was too good to be true. I guess the only way they could get that price point was to go cheap on routers and equipment. I do wonder, though, about the Maxis equipment procurement process. Did they choose the Thompson out of a brochure based on a price point? Did their tech team actually test the product out, running it through a normal use scenario (which in this country means a certain amount of torrenting and downloading)? Meanwhile, I think I'll just sit back and wait a little longer. Now that everyone has jumped off the streamyx bandwagon onto unifi and Maxis ftth, my streamyx line has been relatively trouble-free, so no need to get aggravated calling up the "help" lines. I think I'll wait until Maxis wises up and starts providing reliable equipment, or TIME broadband comes to my area. i have to say maxis is not too bad if compared to unifi. thomson router is crappy... sometimes hang after a week (24/7 on)... but after restart, it's ok... but so is Unifi's router... crappy.. customer service.. i waited 10 mins also no one answered.. waiting so long.. unifi at least after 2 - 3 mins will pick up... price.. maxis wins... so since everything is crappy, just choose the cheapest crappy service and live with it... i can online most of the time without problems... so all in all.. i chose maxis and no regrets so far... |
