Hi, can anyone help me check which port is used at TM modem connecting to Thompson WAN port? I unplugged to tidy up the space and forgotten about the arrangement. Thanks smile.gif

Added on July 13, 2012, 1:35 pmFound. LAN2. I guess they made some tagging as LAN1 can't connect to Internet smile.gif

Got my 10mbps from Maxis yesterday, getting good speed but ping average about 30~35ms, probably due to a high rise building that runs on copper?

Any plans to change the router instead of using the Thompson in future?

The Dlink DVG-N5402SP sounds like a good deal since it also has VoIP phone ports.

It can replace all the functions of the Thompson one.

Using Maxis Fibre Home 10MB Now. Kindly include me in the list smile.gif

A brief observation on the Thompson router:

1. It will be cooler if we make it stand.
2. Or we can put a USB fan below it as it has big vent below the router which supposedly enable hot air flow out.

One thing great is that thompson router gives two USB ports.

Bullshits lah! Maxis guy is also contractor, don't be conned!

Landed property maybe two per day for TM guy, high rise at least 10 a day!

Added on July 12, 2012, 11:26 pm

Not that lah, almost all the TM contractor forced to do maxis installation. They refuse to do maxis installation because always got problem especially VoIP phone.

Whereas if they do unifi, everything under their control, easier to fix.

If they do for maxis, they cannot go off until maxis guy sign the form for them.

I dont think u know the meaning of 'contractor', do u?

oh like that ah... you very clever leh... i never know if a company outsource the onsite installation and maintenance to other companies(non-related/non subsidiaries), it is not called contractor

but i dun know why those ppl under tm is called contractor in the same cirsumstances... perhaps u got new term for it
