One more thing.... anyone know if possible to keep back our original house phone number? Or I must terminate my TM number first?

You will be given a MAXIS landline number... TM number won't be able to be used.

Any one registered with Dr Pitchard received their jusco voucher yet? Coz if thru him will get a free RM30 voucher and summore staff only incentives if not mistaken  hmm.gif  hmm.gif
yeah my installation is going to be 2 months from now.. that time already must go back study.... zzz what a bad timing. cry.gif
*
Hahaha, its RM50 Jusco voucher, not RM30. Well, I can't run lar. I haven't get it yet, and I plan to get almost all of it, then do a few meet-up places to disburse it. Don't worry, will inform you guys once its ready. Hope Maxis pass it to me fast, so I can disburse it just as fast... :-)

My friend registered early of June, installation date set on 28 of Sepetember, ask them whether can faster or not but they just gave a damn attitude like 'take it or leave it'
*
Unfortunately, at this point in time, installation slots has to be selected online through a portal and that itself is limited, not like opening a logbook and just writing what ever date and time one likes. And it is VERY HARD to change that time slot, as in, it will be way back if it is changed.

Same goes for UniFi, they book through the same method. Try asking around and you will realise that recent UniFi installation timeframes are +- almost the same like Maxis Fibre.

Mine reg on 3 June i have to call yesterday after emailing too many times to dr pitchard  and they said sept 19 installation wtf !  Complained already but it feels like no effect one. They say wanna call back but never. Madafckes go die la !
*
There are too many factors behind it, so its hard to pin point it actually. I submit all applications on the next working day itself, but from there, there will look into many other factors, such as port availability, Q for that area and credit check. Info regarding this was posted by a member of the forum in the past few pages.

Registered on June 27th. Just now received a call , appointment for installation made on July 9th, which is next Monday. Didn't expected so fast smile.gif btw registerd with dr pitchad too smile.gif.

Good to hear that...
Again, I've done my best in submitting all on the next day itself! You are lucky, more because it was the day before the last day of the promo!!!! And yeah, you goy yours already, so all I can assume is your area has port, Q is not too long or they jz released new installation slots and you have either no background history with Maxis or its very good... :-)

ok this is what i've done :

originally i was using Jaring service, and of course the TM phone line for it.

then i applied for maxis. later maxis called for installation date, and gave me new phone number.

then maxis came to install. i asked whether can use old copper line, they say can. good. make life easy for everyone.

installation done.

then i went to TMpoint to cancel my TM phone line subscription.

then i called Jaring to stop my Jaring internet service subscription.

..... basically you have to go and cancel your tm phone subscription, other wise you'll still receive the bill for something you don't use, unless of course you still want to use it which i think doesn't make sense since it will be redundant....

Your password by default is your userid + 1.

Example:

userid: 38727@home.maxis.com.my (or 38727@public.maxis.com.my on public ip)
password: 387271

Anyway, I did face the authentication failed message once, I'm not sure if it's my account or my area. But it was triggered by when, Maxis approved my public IP request and switched my account to public ip, but their server is not updated somehow. So once I restarted my router (it was laggy that time), I could not authenticate with either @home or @public. Basically, no internet for 3 hours and finally I am able to login / authenticate with the public IP.

Hi, I'm new to maxis wired broadband and I heard some bad reviews and also good reviews. I like to ask quite many things, because I saw the package is so much cheaper than UNIFI and even faster. Basically there is few things I need to know.

1)Is there any cap for Maxis Broadband?
2)Besides that, anyone used Maxis Broadband for hardcore online gaming and how's the connection for gaming?
3)How's the performance to surf foreign website?
4)Is there any specific router that support Maxis Broadband or we can use any of our own router to connect?
5)Is there any throttle speed by using p2p?
6)Any frequent disconnection?
7)I like to remain my tm line can Maxis provide a new line for my internet only?

So far I think thats all, will ask again if I there are any issue that pop out from my mind... LOL~

mostly people just come here to complain how bad maxis fibre are...
when it's good those people with vanish into thin air...

1)no capping implement yet
2)international ping is not very good at the moment
3)web surfing is fine/excellent most of the time
4)you can use custom router and you need to keep the default router for voip
5)no throttling at the moment
6)not sure... disconnect issue seems to be causing by the sh1tty thomson router(overheat easilly)
7)depends on where you stay... high rise building will need to use your RJ11 port for vdsl and landed property you can get another line with no problem
