Hey guys, is there a way to turn off the phone? Every morning before I leave for work, I'd turn off every thing, the modem and the router too. But that would also result in the phone trying to search for its source lol.

And every time I gotta take out its batteries so that it wont be so retarded.

Was looking through the phone but I don't think I seen any power button for it.

that is no any power off function for this sucking model, just remove the battery instead of keep searching the power off button.

i just got disconnected (still green light) 3 times in a row in 10mins....after connected i cant browse a single site until mylaunchpad came up then i could start browsing... wtf

Okay, I called up Maxis and they said I quote " You'll be having some slow connection issue to International Site and that includes Gaming too till the end of this month"

Bear in mind - anything that happens to Maxis Home Fibre also applies to UNIFI because they share the same damn* undersea cable

are they saying it is because of unifi line? i thought someone said because work done in maxis server centre?

i do not see any announcement on such issue in tm site... so i don't believe what the maxis cs said until i tested on unifi myself.. if it takes one month to solve, even newspaper like thestar will publish it

if that has do with undersea, why locally hosted site like thestar, lowyat also slow? another effort to sweep the truth under the carpet?

that is why maxis ftth(ell) users here lazy to call maxis cs, long waiting time asides, they are not able to solve the issue... always try to blame someone else... if that is said to me, i'll ask those questions and if they can't answer, they'll get a very "nice" shout by me

i just called my friend who is using unifi 5mbps, he said no problem, good as usual... anyway, i am not physically present to test it out, but i assume he is telling the truth bcoz unlike maxis cs, he has no agenda to bull

Hi All;
Today the maxis and the TM installer came to my house at 2pm (They actually promised come at 12pm). The maxis/unifi fiber point just in front of my house,not more than 15m (Landed).

When they just started try to pull the cable from outside to my house, one of the guys told me that the under ground hole was "Sumbat"...!! They need to hack and get the cable from outside... so this is call non standard installation. The EXTRA Charge is RM800++ !!! What the Fxxk!! I'm not agreed on that crazy charges!!

Later, the other guy said this is just the list price, and can negotiate .... I said this is over charge...even they give me 50% discount also RM400++.... So, i said i want cancel the installation!!

After that, the maxis guy said how much i can offer... i said maximum RM100. He went out side and discussed with the other 3 guys, then he came in and said others not agreed but for him he is ok to accept RM100. So, they go back........

The point here is the underground really SUMBAT?? I don't know..!! Or they just want potong my head for their extra RAYA income...??? For those before the installation, please beware of this trick.....!!

please explain "the underground hole was Sumbat" They need to hack and get the cable from outside" ? afaik all cable comes from outside....they have underground cables?

Please refer the photos... the open gate is my house. They opened the concrete and tried to push the cable from there into my house near my door entrance.

From the picture it looks like this is outside your house, you should not be paying for the extra cost. You should call maxis let them know about this issue or alternatively you can try the standard installation as in from roof top? I do not have that concrete infront of my house.

I would suggest you call up maxis and demand your rm100 back. Or else threaten to bring the issue to the media if they seem to condone the fact that the tm installers always try to con subscribers off their money. It's total bullcrap when you are able to nego rm800 to rm100

My partial installation was scheduled for 230pm today. Maxis guy arrived around 245pm and we waited until like 330pm when TM guys (3 of them) finally arrived. They said it's very jam in Bangsar.

I told the TM guy that I would like to have the fiber cable (white) to be pulled to the living room, where the TV is. Using my tape, it's estimated to be around 20m. He said that will incurred an additional charge of RM10/m. Standard is 15m only.

He warned me that laying the cable on the floor corner (old house, no internal cabling for phone line) may risk the cable being damage when sweeping or mopping the floor.

The fiber cable installation (black) from the aerial pole behind the house to the Fiber Terminal Box is pretty quick. I asked that the white cable inside the house not to be clipped to the wall (as I'm having second thought of placing the modem and router at the dining hall instead).

In the end, the TM guy gave me like 25m of the white fiber cable FOC. Probably he's happy not having to nail the clippers.

Maxis guy's work was very simple and brief. He just logged in to the router and did some configurations. After the speed test (11mbps dl, 8mbps ul), his work had completed. So he packed the test router and everyone left.

So now I'm left with TM modem, waiting until after Raya when Maxis replenishes its router stock. Hopefully we will get something better than the current Thomson...and the so called maintenance has been completed.

My line not stable now. It's getting very slow, page unable finish load. Restart modem and it's back to normal. After awhile, ms. Slow come back again!!! Anyone face the same? Thomson issue?
