holy crap, my connection just gone now...
just now the internet led on thomson showing red, now nothing
on the modem dsl led in on but the internet got a steady blink..
still figuring wat went wrong..
update: the thomson suddenly gave up to to connect thn after several restart and log in to connect, it's connected...woohoo!
*
be warned though, it might be a sign that your thomson router is failing..

btw, i noticed last night (around after tarawih time) the connection was a bit erratic (sort of the 'danieltay' problem). E.g. i had to reload 3 or 4 times to get gmail to load, and even lowyat takes quite some time to get connected. My dreambox (which requires a stable line with good latency) was fine though. I was only online till 1 am so dunno what happened later on, everything switched off by then. I can only assume that Maxis are indeed doing their maintenance work and things are only going to get better, if not worst laugh.gif

This morning it's business as usual though biggrin.gif

Maxis is doing their maintenance during the graveyard hours... at least until 31 August 2012. It's to give better performance for all users in the future.

I got call from maxis for home fiber installation, but they said the thomson is out of stock. So even after installation I still can't use the internet.

Anyone having same problem?

same with me then, as i stated a few posts up...

i don't mind these problems as long as they are really doing maintenance/troubleshooting work (and not because of another unsolvable problem has cropped up), and as long as it's not happening every month for the next two years laugh.gif

Ubuntu, one of the many Linux distributions, is a great torrent to test you p2p speed since it is hosted on dedicated servers. It will max out your internet connection within a few minutes (10-15 on average).

Download the torrent file on this page...
http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/alternative-downloads

This is what I've got through my Maxis FTTH

You can see the different between a good torrent file and other torrent file.

Cheers!

as long as your file is well seeded with an excellent seed/peer ratio, you will get the maximum speed

Yesterday night was the better connection days since installation cos no disconnection at all. It was smooth sailing all the way.

Wonder whether is has to do with the maintenance work being carried out by Maxis.

Mind explain how do you do that?

On the new handset that you want to add to the Aztech base station, go into its menu, and select "register" handset (the steps vary from phone to phone so I can't tell you exactly what you need to do). You then need to enter a PIN, 0000, and then after around 2-3 seconds, pull the power cable out from the back of the Aztech base station. This is because the base station does not have a separate button to pair with new handsets. Your new handset now may or may not beep indicating that it has successfully registered with another base station. In the case of the Philips SE171, it registered itself to the Aztech base station which it calls basestation 2 (I'm assuming basestation 1 is the Philips basestation).

Quite simple process really...

I just can't stand anymore. Had my FTTH installed about 3 weeks ago and everything was just fine except the intermediate disconnection/session hanged and auto redirect to 'MyLaunchPad'. rclxub.gif

I need to go into thomson router page almost everyday to disconnect/reconnect the session back because it will hanged everyday and never last more than 24 hours doh.gif And since this tuesday it's getting worst, it automatically disconnected everyday between 2am-4am and no matter i tried to reconnect, or even hardware reset the router and configure settings back it just won't work. And magically after 4am connection will auto resume like nothing happen before rclxub.gif

Called CS this morning and tell them i can't stand anymore and they treated me like I know nothing bout computer doh.gif Told them to logged the case straight away and get their technical to fix my problem, and spent almost a hour with them finally got my case ID...wonder how long will their technical call me back and goes back to those routine basic check up again.

I worked as CS before and I hardly will complain unless the service is ridicules to my point, and well done Maxis you are the 1st to force me made such formal complain in M'sia! Guys, just lodge the complain otherwise they will never hear us and thought M'sia consumer will accept everything including their attitude and way to run business. This is still a lawful country and I believe only by doing things in formal and at least they will react when the authority kicks in.

yup, it actually started about 5pm yesterday... i check 8pm it's becoming worst... at night until 3am still the same... then about 5am i try ok already

it has problem especially with foreign website... the webpage loading is completed but nothing come out in the browser... hope it's maintenance work but i am worry now to be honest... it looks as they started to implement some processes yet again for web browsing... now i still notice some webpages will take longer than usual to load with the "sending request" at the bottom screen... something is not right... damn it! not sure why they want to implement the processes for web browsing... it was smooth sailing for only one week!

the old, white thomson router is phased out already, that is why no stock... too bad we're going to get the same brand, thomson router but this time in black box, new model... i guess they are now doing some testing for the new thomson... heard it would be available somewhere september

honestly, if i can turn back the clock, i'll stick with my streamyx for good... the maxis ftth is constantly having problems, it makes you worry too much especially when you rely on the connection for work purposes... but now it's too late, so i can only move forward and hope for the best

Well, from Maxis forum, it says maintenance is ongoing until end of August, so those midnight outage most probably due to the upgrading work.

Which webpages is slow to load? Could you give some example so I could test as well.

Thanks.

Hey, i installed maxis FTTH last saturday. Till today still haven't register at launchpad. Must I? Till today i have not encountered the mylaunchpad redirection issue raised by most users. Is it possible that once i registered, the issue will manifest itself?
