Issues:
1) Download speed from rapidshare.com going down to 0kbps after reaching 500kb size
2) Internet sometime disconnect but Thomson router didn't show it was disconnected. So the auto-connect on disconnect function didn't work.

Just got my 1st monthly billing which is horrifying since its from Maxis... I don't understand the 'perpetual discount RM100' stated in the billing, is it from the maxis RM110 promo? And how come the internet monthly fees are not standardized, when I compared my billing with my neighbours.
*
QUOTE(hongchai888 @ Aug 1 2012, 07:14 PM)
I assume you're attached with 10mbps RM 118 promotion. Last time the original price was RM 218, therefore perpetual discount RM100 indicated in your bill.
*
Normal price for Maxis FTTH 10Mbps is RM218/month, so it stated perpetual discount RM100 for those who subscribe during RM118/month promotion (RM218 - RM100 = RM118)

Internet monthly fee for the first bill will be pro-rate starting from the date of "working and usable Maxis FTTH" installation to your billing cycle date. Eg.:

Installation date: 7th July 2012
Billing cycle date: 14th July 2012
Pro-rate bill amount: (14 - 7) / 31 * RM118

Hope it helps, tq.

Today I can download from rapidshare.com without any issue even the completed download size already reaching 500KB. The speed very stable at 30KBps using free rapidshare account

Guys, need some help here.

I'm staying in a landed property. I used to subscribe to TM where I have telephone line connected in my whole house. I have 3 phones in my house for convenience.

After subscribing to Maxis, I try to use a splitter and connect it to one of my phone plug in the living room. Only the main line connecting to the splitter can be used and my other phone line can't connect to the maxis voip (make or received any calls). Is there any way to overcome this problem?

Thanks..
*
You need Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA) with 3 telephone ports so that you can connect all of your 3 phones into that adapter and connect that adapter into Thomson VoIP phone port.

Reference http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Analog_telephone_adapter

Easiest way, buy ATA with 2 telephone ports and connect your 2 phones into it and connect the ATA into Phone1 port at Thomson router. For the third phone, you have to use the stock Maxis FTTH phone plug into the Phone2 port at Thomson router so that you have 3 phones all connected in your house (2 existing phones, 1 Maxis FTTH phone). Don't forget to configure your Phone2 port at Thomson router before you can use it. tq

Guys do you all have problem with the Thomson TG784n idling 2-3 times a day ? (24 hours)

The connection will work just suddenly it stops working sometimes you will see a sec of red light showing dc then it will connect back & resume (dc from playing d3)or it will just idle still blinks like normal but you cant browse or anything, waiting 1-5mins wont solve the problem only restarting the thomson router.

oh btw im using public IP with google dns.
*
I'm having this exact issue before, my connection idling I can't browse ping to 8.8.8.8 timed out Thomson status page show my eInternet still connected. Every time it happens I need to go to Thomson page and click Disconnect and click Connect again under the eInternet. Power off and power On Thomson also helps to recreate the internet connection. After reporting to Maxis Customer Support, they ask me to do configuration reset by pressing reset button on the Thomson router (small hole) and reconfigure my router again with the login ID, password, telephone ID and telephone password. After this "master reset" the issue was gone and my connection to the internet never disconnect like before. The only issue left after that reset is I can't access Thomson as Administrator even using Access Key as password at the bottom of the router.

hmm so what about if i do a master reset, then i restore configuration settings (user.ini) ? would it work ?
*
It's no point if you do backup of user.ini then do master reset later restore back the same backup of user.ini which is created before master reset.

My suggestion is create a backup of user.ini first then do the master reset. After that do fresh setup for Thomson router using the setup wizard from Thomson web admin panel. If anything goes wrong, you may restore back the previous user.ini from backup you created before.

Please take note, after the master reset you may or you may not able to access to Thomson router as Administrator anymore even you are using the same Access Key as the password. tq

have you reboot the thomson after setup using wizard? Installer told me that the admin access will only be allowed after at least one time reboot after setup wizard
*
Will try to login again after next reboot, currently still connected after using setup wizard without any disconnection. Need to reboot outside peak hour to minimize the downtime impact.

Now I can login back as Administrator using Access Key after a reboot. Doing master reset need at least a reboot so that you can login back as Administrator

Anyone getting constant youtube loading freeze?
I'm getting annoyed. Everything worked out well for my MHF, my youtube recently freezes A LOT. I thought it was browser related so I switched from chrome to firefox and vice versa. Only to find out today when my sister was sitting beside me and saw the youtube froze, she said she got that too. So I'm pretty sure it's not software related.

Anyone any help? Thanks in advanced!

fyi, Maxis DID NOT block Rapidshare.
At least not for me, because I'm on premium with Rapidshare.
I'm still enjoying full speed all the way since day 1 from Maxis till now.

Still downloading gigs per day until they implement the quota, gonna download all I can for now or never in this two years.
*
I concurred as you said, no P2P or any hosting site blocked so far. My download with Rapidshare is great now. My torrent also still get maximum speed 1.2MBps. For your video streaming issue via youtube, did you test with other streaming website like break.com tonton.com.my etc? Maybe you need to upgrade your flash player plugin for your web browser.

Thanks. after factory reset and reconfigure the Thomson router and reboot the router to get back the Admin access, does the disconnection still happen ? Frequent or intermittent or no disconnection ?

Looking for your feedback.

No disconnection at all, unless I click on disconnect/reboot the Thomson router.

Even with the Maxis WAN IP refresh every 2 days, the connection still remain stable ?

It never reach 48 hours mark yet because I reboot this morning after sahur to get access to Administrator account. The longest connection uptime before reboot is 1day 19hours++. I will monitor the link and let you know if it can pass the 48 hours mark or not after this. tq

When maxis install do the installer gave you a new modem? Or just the router?
*
I'm also existing Unifi user, during installation the TM team didn't give new modem. Maxis team just connect their Thomson router to existing TM modem at port LAN 2 (Unifi router connect to port LAN 1) and complete the installation.

Yes, this wee morning got interupttion and call Maxis CS and they answer replied within few hours when I am sleeping...Gosh..they really disturb customer sleep..lolz..Anyway, not their fault as I ask them to update me soonest.

Apparently, Maxis is doing some software upgrading work on the server which outage to all Maxis FTTH and would solve connection issues.

So far, I am monitor whether any disconnection happen again. So far, 6 hrs since last ONT and Maxis router reboot, connection is still alive.

my longest connection uptime so far is 1day 19hours++, still 4hours++ before Maxis cutting time

my billing invoice is today, and my quota already reset when i checked this morning, and i feel the connection speed is back to the state before i reach the 100GB so called limit.. i guess if you overuse your 100GB quota, you'll be throttled...

yes, maxis says no quota implemented yet, which is true, but it seems they silently throttle you when you reach your limit... sort of FUP...
*
i overuse 100GB quota every two days and my speed never been throttled either for http, ftp or torrent

Everything was throttled during peak hour (night), this is unacceptable for a 10Mbps FIBER connection.

Top seeds torrent from pirate bay only could get 50kbps per sec. Direct download from Apple site max 300kbps. Horrible.
*
Let me test frm my end tonite. May I know any specific time/hour pls?

I never have this slow issue after subscribing to Maxis FTTH, even never face it during my UniFi VIP5. Perhaps its only affected some of the subscribers.
