sub need 1 channel only right? so either you use a mono (1 x 800W channel) -> i think this option cannot, you connect your sub in series or parallel, no longer 4 ohm... so you need to confirm lor..if parallel, i think is 2 ohm, then you need your amp to be 2 ohm stable and power 800W... or (2 x 400W channels) at 4 ohm, assumption... or if your amp got 2 channel, but after bridge, equals 800W, also can... i think so la... bro, you sub will only take 150-200 RMS each, just buy a mono that can do 400RMS @ 2ohm will be sufficient. Calculate the power by RMS will be more accurate as most manufacture tend to use the max wattage to make their product look powerful.
for your last post, 2ch amp at 800w max will not sufficient for your 2 subwoofer. from my experience 800w max rated amp can only produce at most 100RMS each channel make it total 200W which is only able to support 1 of your sub. Unless you use 2x2ch, then you can power both sub but why waste on money to buy 2 while you can have 1 to do it all? just buy a mono and you can enjoy the power with low price.
By using a mono, if the cable is thick enuff to handle 400RMS, you only need 1 pair of cable from your amp to your sub and extend to another sub. But if you think the power from 2 wire to both sub will be better, you can always use 2 wire to 2 sub. Not a problem. hope these help.

no prob, it's not 400 max rms, it's 400rms. not max. RMS is calculated as nominal output....
1 cable to 2 sub is ok but make sure it's thick enuff....12/10ga is good
