From MacBook air Owner Mid 2011

Weileong-13"MBA -Display panel-LTH133BT01A03 (from Samsung Display), SSD -SM256C( From Samsung SSD)

SSD Identification

-Applications > Utilities > System Profiler /click on the apple to the top left > about this mac > more info
-Find Serial-Ata on the left bar about 15 items down
-Post what's written on your device tree to the right under intel 6

example: 11" - TS128C,TS256C <--Toshiba SSD

Display Identification

Open Terminal and execute the following string, you can cut and past it...

ioreg -lw0 | grep IODisplayEDID | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6

If the display type begins with LP it is a LG Phillips
If the display type begins with LT it is Samsung

as i checked, mine is using LG Philips that all mac forumers claimed the color is washed out compared to Samsung's.

You know what? I just found this

http://osxdaily.com/2011/10/30/how-to-chec...it-look-better/

and after this setting my screen stay on different with the Samsung's. Pretty cool setting you can opt for. And now my screen is more vivid then ever =)

FYI, Samsung display is more gorgeous than LG-P but from the website there is some tutorial to make a custom color profile to sharpens the display

I was lucky to get "Double Sammy" biggrin.gif

Added on July 1, 2012, 11:05 amFOr SSD according to some information, The Performance Winner also by Samsung.

Mine is 64GB using Toshiba but this is 2012 version. Everything is fine now except shutting down speed is about 10 sec to go. I can cope with it because I normally just close the lid and it just sleep like that. Unless I have to boot into Windows 7 occasionally due to work smile.gif

2012 MBA 13" 2.0GHz Core i7 8GB RAM 256GB SSD.

Screen LG, SSD Samsung. Screen, in comparison to my Retina MBP and the Samsung MBA 2012 display unit tested at MacStudio LYP:

Retina MBP > LG > Samsung.

Both LG and Samsung color profiles are off, skewed in either the cold or warm temperature. Crispness is the same. Still need calibration and customs ICC profiles to tame them down. Retina eat them both for breakfast.

SSD speed tested at 390MB/s write, 450MB/s read using BlackMagic DiskSpeedTest.
