Are the Guardians of the Galaxy Coming in 2014?

user posted image

The mysterious Marvel Studios movie that's been slated for May 16, 2014 has led to a lot of speculation and conjecture since it was announced last year. We're now less than two years away from that date and Marvel Studios hasn't announced what movie they'll be readying for that date, but with the announcement that Marvel Studios will once again have a Hall H panel at this year's Comic-Con on Saturday night, July 14, at 6 pm, it's been presumed that's when they'll announce the planned mystery movie.

Even so, the latest rumor from Latino Review, which other trades like Variety and THR are picking up on, is that Marvel Studios plans on announcing that their movie based on Guardians of the Galaxy will be ready to fill in that May 2014 slot.

The original Guardians of the Galaxy were introduced way back in 1969, a 31st Century superteam who were fighting a war against the alien race the Badoon. Ironically, we once thought that the aliens in Marvel's The Avengers might be the Badoon and when we mentioned that to the normally tight-lipped Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, his response was... well, here's our actual interaction about the aliens in "Avengers" from May

"SHH: I thought it might have been the Badoon, because at one point, I remember you wanted to make a 'Guardians of the Galaxy' movie and I thought, 'Maybe they were bringing back the Badoon' even though they hadn't been in the comics for twenty years.

"Feige: Right. Well, they might be coming back to the comics sooner than you think."

QUOTE
Joseph Gordon-Levitt Added to Race for Lead Role, in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

Holy Starlord, Batman! It seems the actor most people picked to don the cape and cowl over in the DC Universe might get stolen by Marvel. Deadline reports Joseph Gordon-Levitt is “in the mix” for the lead role of Peter Quill in James Gunn‘s Guardians of the Galaxy. He joins a short list that’s believed to include front-runners Jim Sturgess and Zachary Levi among others.

What does this mean about his rumored connection to future Batman and Justice League movies? Read much more after the jump.

According to Deadline, not only is Gordon-Levitt in the mix, there’s a small possibility he might have already been offered the role. It would be a huge surprise after a full month of speculation regarding other young actors like Joel Edgerton (Warrior), Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire), Jim Sturgess (Cloud Atlas), Lee Pace (Lincoln), Eddie Redmayne (Les Miserables), and Zachary Levi (Chuck). Several of those guys have screentested and publicly come out to say they’d love the role as an American astronaut who ends up in space and as the head of this cosmic superteam.

Of course, the most interesting thing about Gordon-Levitt being in the mix is his connection to Batman. By now, we’ve all seen The Dark Knight Rises and how the ending of that film teases the possibility of the actor returning to the role. We’ve even had high placed sources say he could appear as the character this year. This news, though, throws a huge monkey wrench in that. Even if he isn’t cast in Guardians, if he’s being considered, it makes that connection to Justice League/Batman seem weaker than ever. If that was truly in the cards, would Gordon-Levitt even answer the phone about another starring superhero role?

James Gunn, who is re-writing and directing Guardians, came out to say the latest casting news, regarding Sturgess and Levi, was inaccurate and maybe he was referring to Gordon-Levitt. We’ll likely find out soon as the film will most certainly start filming later this year.

Not sure what you mean by resources, cos this movie sure as hell won't cost as much as John Carter.
Marvel is ballsy, not crazy.

And I doubt Disney would approves $250mil budget for a movie that's based on a comic book that even most Marvel nerds know nothing about.

Not many comic readers know GOTG really.
The movie announcement during Comic-con really came out of the left field for everyone.

Either way, if anyone wants to do homework...here's your reading list.

You can also go straight to 25 issues GOTG by Abnett & Lanning.

Maybe Guardians of the Galaxy would’ve been a huge risk in lesser hands, but from the opening credits to the final reel, there’s a genuine swagger about the whole film. It exudes charm and confidence throughout, and is flippant in all the best possible ways.

From the moment Star-Lord dances into view, it’s almost as if James Gunn and his entire company can be heard saying, ‘What are you worrying about? We got this.”

Yeah, you really have.

Here's some Marvel trivia (with my insight) that hopefully GOG thrash out...

The entire Marvel Universe in relation to the observable universe...

1. All the inhabitants of the Marvel Movie Universe comes from the Local Cluster, A cluster of galaxies which includes the Milky Way (our galaxy).

2. I would presume Asgard and the 9 realms (including Earth) are located within the Milky-Way galaxy and/or it's satellite galaxies....

3. The Kree empire is located in a satellite galaxy to the Milky-Way, Large Magellanic Cloud.

4. Nova Corps, Asgard and Kree would be the 3 dominating power for Milky-way and it's satellite galaxies

The 2 other large galaxy systems within the "Local Cluster" are Andromeda and Triangulum:

5. Thanos may have dominion over the Andromeda galaxy seeing that he controls the Chitauri or Skrulls...

6. The Shiar & Spartoi Empires are located in the Triangulum Galaxy.

So far so good, but 19 reviews and not a single rotten means = the movie is poised only for greatness.

Too bad I may not be able to see it next week since I'll be away... haha, advance tickets already selling summore!

To anyone watching in IMAX 3D, please provide feedback if it's worth it. I usually watch movies in 2D, but I believe this movie will be good and I'm considering to watch it in IMAX 3D (especially after watching this video)

23 Jul – Earlier this month, it was announced that Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) will be bringing a new feature into its cinema halls, namely a new type of seats called D-Box Motion Seats. Now the seats are debuting earlier than expected! D-Box Motion Seats are set to be unveiled at GSC 1 Utama cinema soon.

Installations are already underway in GSC 1 Utama, Hall 3 and once they are fully installed and tested, the seats will be opened for the public to enjoy.

The D-Box Motion Seats, are programmed to move with the visual and sound effects of a movie playing on screen.

Hall 3 at GSC 1 Utama is also home to the Dolby Atmos sound system, which comprises surrounding speakers system, some placed overhead of the audience, to create a dynamic audio effect for the audience while also allowing filmmakers to pinpoint the source of the sound that will increase the realism of their stories onscreen.

Just watch it. I give it a rating of 7 out of 10. The second best summer blockbuster movie after Apes.

Just like Apes, CGI characters stole the show. Groot will be everyone's favourite and Rocket have some of the best lines. Star Lord himself is also not too bad. Reminds me a bit of Han Solo. Gamora and Drax are the more boring characters. Other supporting characters are quite interesting too.

I think the main weakness are the villains. Very one dimensional. The second major weakness is the storyline. Its a bit all over the place but not so bad until you loose interests.

Well, Marvel movie getting better this day. Namely Capt America, X-Man Future Past, but Spiderman 2 pulak I dun really enjoy it. Kinda boring.

Good to see one of Marvel supervillian in the movie. Though he didn't make any uproar, but by jes seeing him giving me a chill in the spine. Can't wait for him to get into action. brows.gif

Damn long have to wait for after credit scenes sweat.gif

Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

What sold Iron Man was Robert Downey Jr..

Captain America had super boy scout Chris Evans.

Thor had Chris Hemsworth to ham things up!!

Avengers... for Pete's Sake is an Avengers movie!!!

Apart from Avengers, all the source material above were never BIG selling comics before the movies...

Now we get Guardians of the Galaxy...

Can we get MORE OBSCURE than THAT!!! I think not...

So let see what does the movie have going for it.

1) Chris Pratt (Who??)

2) Zoe Saldana (She was blue, now she is... GREEN!!?!)

3) Dave Bautista (er... I don't follow WWE)

4) Vin Diesel (Groot, don't ask... Are they trying to make a statement about Vin Diesel's lack of vocabulary??? laugh.gif)

5) Bradley Cooper (Rocket, A talking Raccoon...)

Okay, before I go on, let me just say that the way the movie opens (the first 15 - 20 mins), shows that Marvel/Disney has BIG cahonees... tongue.gif

For this movie to be really big, Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) has to be more Han Solo than... well, Hans Solo (a loveable rogue).

And did he managed that?

In my opinion..., no.....

The production value of this movie is staggering.

As I had presume this movie probably builds up to The Infinity Gauntlet movie (go buy this on paperback, it is pretty good).

It is actually quite unfair of me to say all fault lays with Chris Pratt, I think the greatest pitfall is

I believe they cut (edit) a good portion of the movie out.... there should be an extended version that hopefully adds another 30 minutes...

Denarian Saal interactions should be better flesh out...

Winter Soldier is alot better IMO just because the way fights was choreograph and how the movie made me on the edge of my seat everytime WS appear.

Still GOTG is as good or justtttt a tad below Avengers overall.

I'm on the minority here. Felt the movie rough around the edges on story and directing. You can't fault the cg eye candy fest somehow the acting and dialogues induce a fair bit of cringeworthy moments here and there. To be fair Groot and Rocket stole the whole movie while Chriss Pratt and Zoe Saldana were ok,I guess. The weakest link of all is Batiusta,he need to brush up his acting chops and can't really get behind his motivation.
Again with every Marvel movie, the villain always gets the short end of the stick.Their threat to protagonist/s always comes off empty and always end with deux ex machina ending.Man the first half of the movie was full of expository scenes that can be dull to watch.A silly fun watch but not too profound.
What's up with the overhyped Benicio Del Toro cameo, who again act as an "exposition" character who does not really expand the story. hmm.gif
Overall in tone GOTG felt a lot like Fifth Element to me.

This was a very middle-of-the-road James Gunn movie. Loved the humour but the rest of the script and story beats were incredibly cliched. Some of the editing in action scenes was messy to the point of being distracting, so I wasn't as engaged as I could have been.

Otherwise the movie was very decent fun, and Chris Pratt is a star in the making. Bring your popcorn. If you enjoy James Gunn movies, then this is definitely a hell of a James Gunn movie and almost up there with Slither and Super.

For what it's worth the movie still rates in the top 5 for me among the MCU movie, the list being CA:TWS, IM, IM3, TA, and GotG. Could've been so much better though.

Well, as far that I read the REVIEWS in this thread, everyone enjoyed this movie so much.
I've just watched this movie just now at GSC Setia City Mall, I'm not LAUGHING at all in this movie. I don't know why, the funny scene in this movie doesn't attract me to laugh. yawn.gif

The action scene is like MEHHH, too common, I've seen this kind of actions in other movies. And also I felt that they Overuse the songs in this movie

But still, this movie is still okay and interesting. I gave 3/5 smile.gif

Still Captain America : Winter Soldiers is the best Marvel movie for me this year

Watched it in IMAX 3D. As expected the 3D isn't anything to shout about. A little pop out here and there and you won't miss much if you skip 3D and just watch 2D in a normal hall.
But the big screen, as always, is totally worth it.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Soars to Biggest Thursday Box Office Opening of the Year

Who needs Iron Man?

Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” got off to a rousing start on Thursday, rocketing to $11.2 million in late night preview screenings. That’s the biggest pre-opening total of the year, besting another Marvel title, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier’s” $10.2 million start in April. Roughly $1.9 million of “Guardian’s” initial haul came from Imax screenings.

Despite lacking a top-shelf superhero in the form of Captain America or Thor, the comic book adaptation is on track for the biggest August opening in history, topping “The Bourne Ultimatum’s” $69.3 million bow. It is expected to premiere to north of $75 million, but could soar even higher given that “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” debuted to $95 million this spring and this film is hitting loftier numbers.

The film is a record-breaker in another sense. It will have the widest August opening in history when it expands to 4,080 theaters on Friday, nearly 3,200 of which are in 3D, carrying with them surcharges. Overseas, the film will debut in 42 international territories including the United Kingdom, Russia, Brazil, Mexico and South Korea. The picture carries an $170 million production budget.

Overseas, the film is off to a strong start, racking up $2.3 million in the United Kingdom and Ireland, nabbing $3.5 million in Russia, and generating $1.6 million across several South and Central American countries such as Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.

James Gunn, a habitué of the indie and horror worlds through such films as “Super” and “Slither,” directs the film about a rag-tag group of space cowboys. Chris Pratt, best known for his comedic turn in “Parks & Recreation,” should enjoy a nice career bounce for his work as the Han Solo-esque, Star Lord. The picture’s mix of laughs and spectacle has been hailed by critics — it currently enjoys a 91% “fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The weekend’s other wide release, Universal Pictures’ James Brown biopic, “Get on Up,” grossed an estimated $371,000 when it screened Thursday in 1,769 locations. It is expected to make between $12 million to $14 million when it expands to 2,466 theaters on Friday.

The Guardians and the “Godfather of Soul” will find a summer box office that has been decimated by too many blockbusters that weren’t. Domestically, ticket receipts are down 20% from last year. Exhibitors are clearly holding out for a hero, to paraphrase the great Bonnie Tyler. It looks like one just arrived in the form of a wise-cracking raccoon and a talking tree.

Captain America Winter Soldier is probably the most violent Marvel movie to date. This one has the most foul languages (jackass, d***, what the fuu, showing the middle finger, etc). I'm not complaining though. Just surprised that Marvel has upped the tempo a bit.

Brendan Fehr's character only credited as "Corpsman Dey's Partner". Marvel's Richard Rider (Nova) maybe in the future?? Just a thought came across my mind.

Well it's not as funny as I expected, but still an enjoyable movie nonetheless. I'd say Winter Soldier is the best of Marvel's Phase 2 movies.

p/s: don't watch at GSC MAXX if you want to watch the after credits scene (the 2nd one). they start to turn on all the lights when the credits start to roll that the screen become too bright it's unwatchable. wasted my time waiting, couldn't even see the character that was talking to the collector doh.gif

Good thing the scene is on youtube. laugh.gif

I can understand this. Alot of the dialogue based jokes are mostly american pop culture reference, even the music.
I didn't even know who Jason Pollocks was until I google it at home.

I'm a dude and I actually think the villain is really...macho and good looking. Even though he's just the typical villain who always talks a lot at the end right before he delivers the final blow that matters.

action scenes aren't that intense enough, the villain not brutal enough, but other than these two, this movie rocks! enjoyed the jokes, great lines, an overall run movie! and that spear is wicked!!!

i think this is by far one of the most best produced marvel movies ever!

look at the effort in terms of costume, etc.

and let's not even start with the amazing soundtrack!

and marvel have enough of "serious heroes" already, they had to spice things up a little, i mean, y'know the chilling group that floats around the marvel universe?

i just like it a lot, i guess.

I've tried the D-Box seat. Its more the same experience just like in USS ( Shrek 4D minor the water sprinkle effect). The idea is great but for Guardian of The Galaxy, the extraordinary moment was not there, felt more like Ogawa chair to make u stay up for the whole movie. biggrin.gif

I believe if it was done on some 1st person view kind of movie or horror flick, it would be the best. nod.gif

Just watched it, great summer flick but DOFP is still my personal best for this year's summer. Among Phase 2, would rate 2nd after Winter Soldier.

Based on the opening BO alone, this should be a wake up call to Fox to take a risk with Deadpool. Nothing is ridiculous or impossible if you have a great script, direction and cast.

*
Eh? Comparing DOFP with Winter Soldier? Is DOFP inside the Phase 2 of Marvel franchise?

why not? it'd be cool if someone do a deadpool movie.
a character that's violent+funny and breaks the fourth wall, its a recipe for success!
*
Yeah, and it doesn't even need a high budget in my opinion.
Deadpool doesn't require CGI intensive set pieces like other Marvel flicks. A strong script with great performance from RR should be enough to sell it.
Heck they can even make Deadpool making fun of the budget as a running gag.

Was I? Was saying DOFP is my best summer flick so far. I was rating GOTG among the MCU movies in Phase 2.

Xmen is under fox studios

Avengers is under marvel studios

Both belong together in comics but not in the movie.

Its Star Wars meets Hellboy by way of Serenity. Very entertaining stuff. I liked Peter and Drax and Groot the most. Rocket was ok but a bit too yappy in that annoying manner and wasn't the scene stealer everyone was talking about. Villain is underwhelming as in almost all Marvel movies.

so there r 3 more infinity stone/gem marvel movie has yet to reveal.

there r a total of 6 infinity stone/gem, each with different power of Time, Space, Mind, Soul, Reality, and Power.

It's Howard the duck. Donald Duck speaks in a quacky voice and wears blue.
It might be a hint to show that he will appear in more cameos, or just one random appearance to show that he's part of the Marvel universe and to remind people how bad his movie was.

Next time you can visit mediastinger.com to check the credit/end credits scenes for movies before you watch future movies to decide if you want to stay back after movies. The listings are updated often and mostly before the official movie released (from sneak peak etc).

During the scene at the Collector's vault (at the middle of the movie, not post credit) anyone else noticed in one of the vaults there's this human looking character wearing a red cape (if i recalled correctly). Is that a Marvel character or just some random background character created for this movie?

That's is in cartoon. In comics Spiderman is an Avengers team member.

The rights of Spiderman is hold by Fox Studios.

The rights of Marvel is hold by Marvel Studios.

Until the rights to produce Spiderman movie by Fox is expired, then can you fantasise them in one movie (that include X-Men also).

Or you can pray both studios working together but that is very much impossible.

this movie brings back the "adventurous and fun" genre of space movies from the old days, just like the old star wars

it feels like ur in the movie itself, travelling through space in search of adventure and unexpected outcomes

Nice... just watched it.

I had to wait more than a couple of weeks because, well, wanted to watch with a 'special' someone. tongue.gif

The movie is like watching a concert ; it hits all the high notes, gives you a crescendo, keeps you entertained right to the end and making you beg for more!

Baby Groot... icon_question.gif wub.gif

Easily one of the best movies of the year.

9/10

I found the main villain Thranduil Ronan quite... underwhelming. A very typical portrayal of a villain, nothing too memorable. Would love to see the 4 back in action in a heartbeat!

After reading some reviews guess gonna skip this one out. Guess James Gunn had that lucky break with the last movie but couldn't innovate or rise above to what he had done before.
Honestly always had that feeling he is not exactly that tier-1 film director material. biggrin.gif

Most of the fresh score given echoed same thing. Although its fun and eye candy but its mostly been there done that type of stuff. Still not strong enough reason to skip it. There are many shitty movies deserve a pass not this one though tongue.gif

Since GotG will be in Avengers Infinity War, post-credit scene could be the most important one yet.

Hahaa, did my reply seems offensive? Told u the truth, I actually don't quite get that english jargon 'lowest common denominator'. I even look it up and still didn't quite know how to reply back so to be on the safe side I reply like that. Pardon me if its feel condescending or sarcastic. sweat.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Good news to those who want to skip this, you wouldn't miss much except maybe its visual or not. Its a letdown for me even though I already expecting a letdown. Visually stunning and amazing but couldn't invest much in the story. First half is a bit here and there. In a harsh term I would compare this to BvS. Some jokes are fine, others didn't deliver or fall flat. Its almost apparent that Gunn trying so hard for this to be a fun ride. It was an okay ride for me. Furious 8 is much more enjoyable than this. Earlier thinking going for IMAX3D for a repeat viewing after heard from Grace it quite good but now might need to reconsider that.

What about mid-credits / post-credits, how vital / significant are they or just for the lulz? No spoilers.

There are 5 to be exact. Nothing important to the MCEU, some for the lulz and some maybe building up for the supposedly last in the trilogy. Most of them aren't worth waiting for I guess. Like mentioned above they're pretty meh..

saw the midnight shows in gsc maxx last night.

if there's one thing to described the whole movie, it's an easter eggs basket.

the whole movie is chockful of blatant and obscure reference, either to the upcoming phase or future development of house of marvel films.

as per volume one, the movie was a joyride. some hit, some misses but overall entertaining. and also, as per almost every villain in the marvel series, it's quite weak in development, but i like the sinister idea behind it.

enjoy the film as a buddy show, and you can go no wrong there.

p.s. adam. hahahahaha...

Sigh, 3/5 for me.

Formulaic plot and villain, felt they were trying to juggle too many characters in one film. End up less focus on the characters, instead they were doing something like 'lets see how many jokes, references and songs we can cram into this movie'

I gave 5/10.

I have no idea why some of the people can laugh with their lame jokes. It's not even funny tbh. There are movie that is way funnier than this.

The only interesting thing in this movie is because of the CGI i guess and the classic songs that they use it.

Is this a movie that I will remember or talk again?
My answer is definitely NO

Because to each its their own. That's why you have no idea. Everyone think and perceive something differently. Just because you don't find it funny doesn't mean others take it the same. For me this time around the jokes are a bit underpar. Compared to first one which I find it quite natural, this latest one is quite forced. If your funny bud is easily tickled maybe you'll able to get a good laugh.

Nice one, I didn't know there so much references. Comic book fan might enjoy this more

Of all Marvel movies out there, I considered Guardian of Galaxy is a low tier marvel movie.

Not even middle or top tier Marvel movie.

true. well, they had too sooner or later, especially when thanos and strange were introduced.

i found the adam revelation funny since gunn denied quite strongly that the cocoon at the collectors' place was him. no point guessing now. hahaha.

well, technically, they were all bottom-tiered characters, before the formation of the new guardian of the galaxy. heck, i only recognised gamora, yondu and the nova corps in the 1st film. and rocket. kinda. i don't think marvel even know it'll be such a big hit among non fans. even ant man was supposed to be the bigger draw, but for the fuck-up with edgar wright.

but they do have a huge comic fan base and recognized as the go-to team that delved in the intergalactic scenes, so i guess marvel intended to use it as a bridge to bring the rest of the marvelverse in. and with more and more of the actions going to be out of the blue planet soon, it's a good introduction, isn't it?

so, yeah, low-tier due to the characters and storyline. but very important in the direction of mcu.

p.s. ragnarok's trailer on the huge screen was a real 80's galore awesomeness. *cue led zep*

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Like reviews have said, not as good as the first. What was once considered fresh is now expected, and the sequel doesn't quite rise above it. But it's still pretty darn good, and hugely entertaining in most parts. Part of the problem it has is due to the lack of focus and visible plot for the first half of the movie, but I would contend that even when the story finally unfolds, it's not terribly exciting stuff. I'm not sure if I'm alone in this, but Kurt Russell wasn't very good in this - in fact I'd say he's not in the same league as the rest of the cast, which is pitch perfect.

A lot of the humour works though, and there is some comedy gold here. I also think they did a fine job with Baby Groot. They could have easily made him the cute comic relief and ran away with it but thankfully they did not overplay it at all. Part of the charm of the characters is that they're all quite different and everyone has their own favourite. Drax was mine. Even Gamora, who on her own would have been drab, works really well as a counterweight to all the other colourful characters.

The only joke that got me good was at the end when yandu member was learning to use yandu arrow then he accidentally hit drax. The why drax scream was very funny. What about your, any jokes that stood out?

Wife out of town and babysitting duty squarely fall on me. To avoid answering my son's same question over and over again and to get that precious peaceful downtime...took him to see the movie for the third time for him while the first for me.

A pretty lazy storytelling and weak structuring by MCU standard. Each threat/stake swiftly nullifies with an equally convenient solution. You can see how everything pan out from a mile away. The jokes felt a lot like watching a syndicated TV sitcom that can be funny at times but not impressionable...yeah I get it that it has to be family friendly. It's my personal preference in the more edgy and sophisticated humor.

I think the filmmaker aware of the story shortcomings by masking it with money shots and jokes to make up what's lacking. Only see an effort to progress meaningful character arc in Yondu as for the rest pretty much I don't care a whole lot. What's up with MCU still playing with the daddy issue angle in their movies...every Ironman movies, Loki with Odin, Wasp in Antman, etc..started to feel that's a decree in their official bible for making MCU films. Just like my experience with big corporation machine like Nestle and P&G.

The touted awesome mixtape also not that very awesome cause there's no inclination to find out more about it. Can't help but notice most of the hip TV shows are killing it in their game for using amazing song in their story narrative.

Guess they already setting up Adam and Nebula to be the wild card for Thanos downfall if I'm to remember correctly in the comic books. Then again Thanos motivation for destroying the universe can be very juvenile and don't make a whole lot of sense.

No offense to those who enjoy this movie to the fullest. Just not my jam. My loss is your gain. smile.gif

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

I can use one word to describe James Gunn work in Marvel.

That word is consistent!

Marvel had suffered a few missteps.

One might even argue the planet on a whole is suffering from Marvel fatigue!

I argue otherwise.

I say we are sick of being served.... lacking a better term, crap!

Crap with whip cream and cherry on top at the end of the day, it is still crap.

James Gunn "supposedly" ignored Kevin Feige's suggestion during the making of this movie.
I think James had something to prove.

1). His initial firing from the project.

2). His skipping and hopping over to Warner/DC

In a sense, this movie is a "swan song", a complete story arch for

1) James feature directorial for Marvel

2) Chris Pratt as Peter Quill

3) Rocket you can now call me Racoon Bradley Cooper

I have to add, they were handled well.

I would suggest to Marvel that this is the way forward

Get GOOD creative on you project. See them thru!

Look at how inconsistent the Thor movies were.

The latest Ant-Man movie, the less said the better.

I am actually shuddering when I think about going to the movies o watch The Marvels (highly will skip cinema viewing)

Well made Marvel movie.

DO consider going to the cinema and watch.

I disagree,
On second viewing, after knowing the whole story, my tears already drip when Radiohead's "Creep" played.

I have no issue with the song choice, but the pacing. the emotion from Rocket flashback does not connect well with present day joke.
One moment you are crying the next moment is comedy pulak...
but overall, I still love it, top 3 in my favorite MCU movie

Well, to normal audience maybe.
But to fans, it was a farewell ceremony.

It's the last time we see this crew/family together.
No matter what plan Kevin Fiege have or how the mouse wanna milk this franchise, it wont be the same anymore.

Cutting the prologue of Peter Quill got abducted from earth, the movie starts with Peter Quill dancing, and ended with everyone dancing.
Even Drax who said "Dance is for stupid people" ended up accepting the joy and danced.

So it's a good send off to me.
