Two days ago i bought the new ipad 64gb 4G+Wifi, but what to say... when i was unpacking it, some how the item slipped from my hand and hit at the side of my coffee table. it hit right at the sim card slot area... there are some bruises... but thats OK...

the main problem i have, now the slot does not detect any sim cards. When i took it to the apple service center and when they saw that it was caused by accidental, so it's not covered under the warranty.

and apple does not provide repair, they only replace one to one.

i'm looking for some one out there that can help me repair the sim card slot so it can detect the sim card again.

I hope i can find some help over here.

so sad. i think dun repair it la. just sell it at lower price like less 200-300 and still ppl will buy from you one. but dun sell too low price. i think there are dealers who know how to fix one and they will confirm buy from you. u stay firm with your price. and also, use other username to sell. this username, ppl will know and try to low ball. so, you rugi a bit lo. put it up at lowyat.

TS do spend some time and think - your ipad merely just transfrom from wifi+4G to wifi-only. wifi only 64GB is RM2099 new, so it's completely reasonable to fetch around RM1700 at the very least although the warranty might be just partially voided on the sim part - the sim slot MIGHT be able to revive by its own if you're lucky, and don't forget the GPS can still be used!

also if other part of the hardware failed in the future due to manufacturing defects that's far away from the dent over the sim tray, you're entitled to get a replacement if luck is with you!

i went around looking for repair...
the 3 places i went almost charging the same amount...
around RM500 - RM 550...

i went to apple, they said they will provide a new unit... BUT.... yeah there's a BUT...
they want me to pay 70% of of the unit value than they will give a new one...
i said it's OK... i can live with only WIFI...
if i have extra cash i might just repair it....
