haha actually i can afford to wait a couple of months. Anyway, probably not cancelling it. "Resale value" is not one of the major decision factors.  smile.gif
But if they reveal a facelift version with 6 airbags, auto-folding side mirrors, full taillights, and additional bells & whistles in Q1 2013 then i'd definitely bang my jewels hard.  mad.gif
*
lol facelift wont be possible at all la, do u see any new elantra facelift from international car show? we malaysia typically get new model 1-2years late.

btw, the only thing worth to wait probably is bcoz of afta???? lol not really sure, but if really there is a shift of the government, there might be chances. imagine a milo tin costin RM50k, Elantra RM75k (HS).

wat i meant by facelift (probably in m'sia later) is the similar spec setup as current US/Korean versions. They have GDI engines, nice big HU, parallel parking assist and 6 airbags...dem  cry.gif

yeah AFTA...if there really is change i guess it wouldn't be dramatic. Imagine the reactions from all the recent car buyers  sweat.gif
btw any ideas when is the election?
Like Mr. Russell always says: be a man, do the right thing!  tongue.gif
*
even the 1.8 premium dont have all this doh.gif , the HU on the 1.8 is kinda crappy too.

as per the product name - eletronic throttle control - use eletronic device to control the throttle, give u some option to control ur acceleration pedal sensitivity, more fuel saving mode or max power sensitive mode, up to ur selection smile.gif
*
isnt this the eco-mode that should be available in our Elantra? The international version of Elantra has this eco-mode which functions like what you described but malaysia here .... sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

up to own taste.  = agree with you
Feature wise, Forte wins ....  = what feature does forte wins? huh..
Engine wise, HE wins..... = sure..
Safety wise, Forte wins..... = agree cause of extra air bags
Quietness wise, i think both are equals.... = HE wins hand down...forte cabin noise eventhough <1month usage
Quality wise, CKD vs SKD.... = so HE wins on this
Pricing wise, Forte wins..... = agree with you
FC wise, i think both won't be different much... = agree
Test drive both models....Elantra 1.8P with Forte 2.0 SX Koup(this is not apple to apple...2dr vs 4 dr), while Elantra 1.6HS with Forte 1.6SX/2.0SX Sedan ....follow price range, and compare apple with apple please, not apple with orange...after test drive, then see which 1 u like more, follow ur heart...
*
full tank Elantra ~370km while Forte >300km right?

To those tat recently purchase rugi liao? They hav to do something like rebate..lol..anyway it affects many parties..

it wont be drastic, but 5-10% will definitely help. Anyway, for those really not in need of a new car, it's best to just wait. Else just buy it now.

Here is a good analysis regarding the car price issue:
http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/sidevie...asi-amin-ahmad/
*
Thats a really good analysis, but as always we wouldnt know when the policy will take effect and whether it's possible at all as it will be based on PKR's performance on GE.

I know, every car buyers that bought cars this year wouldnt want this policy to be realized that fast, as it will be very heart-punching biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Correct. there wouldnt be drastic change, but there will be phases. Who knows, the 1.8 Elantra might cost just RM105k next year. cool2.gif cool2.gif cool2.gif

guys,

I've booked 1.8 creamy white on 1st May. Till now haven't receive my car yet.
And I'm cancelling my booking.

And here I'm asking, anyone planning to get HE with the same spec + colour choice as mine in Penang Island?

I can intro you to my SA, and he will explain what needed do in order for new taker to continue using my queue smile.gif
Won't be 100% succeed in getting my queue but worth trying.

But must use a woman name to purchase.

Those interested can PM me for my SA contact.

I'll put on hold my cancellation until 24th August. Once he submit my cancellation form, there won't be anyway the SA could try in getting new taker to continue using my queue.
*
it's a 7months wait for 1.8 now.
