Bro, do you know how interior legroom is calculated? It has nothing to do with the outer dimensions. You can have a car with a longer wheelbase but still with a less legroom inside. It may also be affected by the type seats installed.
The fact is the Civic does have about 3.8cm more legroom than the Elantra. This legroom may be distributed more to the front or more to the rear depending on the manufacturer.
Anyway, interior legroom isnt the only factor of consideration but its for everybody's info. And yes ive sat in both cars before.

I dont say yr calculation is wrong. Dashboard configuration make it that way. But what I mean as overall either as passenger or driver, U will feel Honda Civic is cramp. U cant put much luggage. Back seat for passenger is small & not that comfortable. For me, just slightly better than Mazda 3. But less than Inspira, Focus, Elantra etc..
