I think SD also increase the price after seeing how other cars are increasing theirs with their new launches. I think its a wrong move by SD. Definitely will affect the sales. Sad to hear the increase although i m already an owner of HE.

QUOTE(harpyboy @ Jul 12 2012, 08:19 PM) Changing to K&N filter helps a bit. Using it for a month now, and pumped 6 tanks now. Hey harpyboy, where did you get your filter and how much because i have been looking high and low but couldnt find it.Petrol mileage improved from 10L/100KM to 9L/100KM quite consistently. |

QUOTE(xrossf1re @ Jul 13 2012, 12:55 PM) I find it really disappointing if the service interval for this car is 5,000km. Almost all new cars have a service interval of 10,000km now. Save time, save money. VW cars have a service interval of 15,000km for crying out loud! First 3 service I will follow their instructions to do at interval of 1K and 5k. But then at 10K I will use my own full syn engine oil and only come back to service after 10k.I really hope Hyundai will allow service interval of 10,000km. |

QUOTE(xrossf1re @ Jul 13 2012, 03:04 PM) What I mean is, do they allow us to go every 10k instead of every 5k. Like some car manufacturer, you must follow strictly their service schedule. Everytime you go for a service they will stamp on the service booklet or something. Once you missed a service, they will void the warranty. The service centre I went to told me I can do so if I want to.If they allow us to go every 10k with full synthetic oil without voiding our car warranty, that's really a good news!! |

QUOTE(harpyboy @ Jul 13 2012, 07:00 PM) I wish you are right. But I asked around 3 SC in JB, none of them allow to bring own oil even if it's way better quality. Don't worry so much la brother, I bought my last Hyundai from KahBintang and everytime also i brought my own engine oil. At first they told me it's better I used their oil but then they don't say anything anymore after everytime also I bring my own oil and i think for new cars it supposed to be 10W 30 la.I don't mind using Shell, but one of the reason why we are getting lower gas mileage is because they are using 10W40 rather than 5W30 which our car (in fact all new cars) prefer. Can we do a petition to Hyundai? BTW, when is my request for the FB close group approve? I sent the request few weeks back, and again yesterday. No sound no air one ... Can help me check check? Added on July 16, 2012, 9:37 am QUOTE(stevenycs @ Jul 15 2012, 10:22 PM) Welcome bro I am the owner who drove up genting the first week i got the car and it was still below 1K km Added on July 15, 2012, 10:24 pm Actually there are no specific rules as we have owners who drove up to Genting on the first week. As for me I tried not to rev it more than 3000rpm .. take ur pick whichever u fancy bro This post has been edited by fabho: Jul 16 2012, 09:37 AM |

QUOTE(elantra9336 @ Jul 18 2012, 09:26 AM) as per the product name - eletronic throttle control - use eletronic device to control the throttle, give u some option to control ur acceleration pedal sensitivity, more fuel saving mode or max power sensitive mode, up to ur selection This is only for 1.8, 1.6 still dont have yet |

QUOTE(alive79 @ Jul 18 2012, 12:28 PM) can any proud owner please publish their fuel consumption? I eager to know bout that. I travel daily from seremban to my office bangi near uniten. I can get about 6.6L/100km to 6.8L/100km and full tank can get about 550km to 590km. If convert to cents would say 0.15cents/km to 0.17cents/km. Got once the lowest i manage is 0.12cents/km.My wife owns a forte and its FC is dissapointing, I hope Elantra is better. Added on July 18, 2012, 1:36 pm QUOTE(wei @ Jul 18 2012, 12:24 PM) To what I understand that the ECO mode is just an indicator that you are driving economically or not. Switching on or off doesn't make any changes to the car behavior unlike those active ECO mode in some car where the ECU will switch into different profile. Your observation same as mine. Also, when you use the 0 - 30L/100KM bar meter, it will overwrite the ECO indicator. To my observation, if you rev below 2.5k-3k you will mostly get ECO light on. QUOTE(wei @ Jul 18 2012, 02:40 PM) It does have a purpose, for ppl who concerned about FC, then they have to train their right foot to always get the green ECO light. LOL... Instead of the car, the driver have to be in "ECO mode". Yes it's a skill required to train your right foot to be light footed. Once u mastered it, you dont have to press the pedal the car will also move hehe. |

QUOTE(alive79 @ Jul 18 2012, 04:50 PM) If it is 10.6L/KM then it is still acceptable. The forte can only get about 350KM full tank(45 L) city drive. Actually fc is a very subjective thing and it depends on your driving style. A person that likes to accelerate and braking a lot will eventually use more petrol. So to avoid from doing so, anticipate the traffic if the car in front is moving slow, don't la go and tekan hard and then braking hard. Similarly if the car in front is slowing down just release the pedal and let the car move naturally to a stop if the front car stop. Sorry maybe you already knew this but just sharing my thoughts only.Ouch, that is what my wife Forte FC. For those who said it is about driving habit, I really doubt about that. I test my wife Forte myself and still the result is about the same. As for me, I usually hit 500KM/40L on my old vios. So it is not much about heavy leg. |

QUOTE(stevenycs @ Jul 19 2012, 09:15 AM) since version 1??? That's me again who drives up to genting BF quickly decide la ... haha! quickly go buy the new FF and let me test the parking assist .. lolx~ Added on July 19, 2012, 9:17 am Likewise here bro. I too believe that we don't have to do any break in to the engine since all cars/engines nowadays already been broken in by the factory as u mentioned. For me just driving within the 3000rpm is alright before the first service. We have owners driving up Genting even before the first service and the car is doing fine |

QUOTE(l2k @ Jul 30 2012, 10:18 PM) Seems like you guys also experience coolant level become lower and need to refill with water ? Maybe I give my SC a call tomorrow to confirm if it is "normal", just to be cautious as still under warranty period. Well i can suggest Chemlube, fully synthetic esther base oil http://www.chemlube.com.my/product.html. Been using this in my previous car and satisfied with it and will use this for my 10k oil change.I used SC shell helix semi, since 5k need to do service again. It is wasteful to use fully. But I feel the engine oil is not good, 10W40 is a bit heavy, feel the throttle a bit sluggish before change. Plan to use own oil, still surveying which brand is good. |

QUOTE(l2k @ Jul 31 2012, 09:55 PM) Where to buy this? Seems good. Hi Bro, this engine is not sold at outside stall but thru agents who would deliver to your doorstep when you call them. If you want I can pm to you their contact.I have called my SC, the technician said for a low mileage (1400km), the coolant drop to low is abnormal and told me to take the car back to SC to check. Sian... |

QUOTE(666devil @ Sep 13 2012, 02:55 PM) 1 of the agreement made is to abolish night shift. So production will remain but still slow. At least not as slow as now... South Korea has very strong labour union and also one of the country with the best staff benefits yet they still can be so successful and advanced. |
