isnt this the eco-mode that should be available in our Elantra? The international version of Elantra has this eco-mode which functions like what you described but malaysia here .... sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

Eco-mode can be enable in trip computer setting....there's a mode for Eco Mode, by default is OFF....just press n hold reset button at the steering for few seconds then it'll be enable...
but pls take note, this eco-mode isn't the same as hybrid cars...it's auto sensing....when u accelerate hard, eco-mode will disable automatically....unlike hybrid cars which is permanent...

Thought u got other form of rebate? I got even lesser. No choice it's like buying tv/phone. The longer u wait the cheaper. But I think the 2/3k price increased dy. so u r lucky.

Rebates acually is against the rule for sales agent and company(dealer/branch)....they have no right of giving rebate/discount for elantra which is a policy and also a rule which is very serius 1.....
yes, supposingly 2k increase for 1.6HS and 3k increase for 1.8P started 16th July 2012, but postponed to this saturday 23rd July 2012....so anyone wants booking please hurry.....

I am from Alor Setar dealer, anyone wants information and booking, please let me know. I will guaranteed the service provided will be satisfy. feel free call/sms me @ 01115335767 (Teoh)

Smart way to mislead ppl into thinking got huge discount. LoL!
Is kind of marketing trend...those salesman are really get into deep trouble for their company if HQ knew about this...
for 1st year Insurance had to buy together with the car from dealer/branch. Owner only can change their insurance start 2nd year. by default Insurance provided by Sime Darby Inokom n Hyundai is MUI Continental company. Is better to continue with this insurance in the following years to have peace of mind for you and your car.
The discount is juz look attractive, but he too told us about OTR without Insurance clearly, so I don't think he acually misleading ....

For good FC and better performance, u had to let the engine break-in....means ur mileage have to be 6k-7k....after that the real result will appear....

up to own taste.
Feature wise, Forte wins ....
Engine wise, HE wins.....
Safety wise, Forte wins.....
Quietness wise, i think both are equals....
Quality wise, CKD vs SKD....
Pricing wise, Forte wins.....
FC wise, i think both won't be different much...
Test drive both models....Elantra 1.8P with Forte 2.0 SX Koup, while Elantra 1.6HS with Forte 1.6SX/2.0SX Sedan....follow price range, and compare apple with apple please, not apple with orange...after test drive, then see which 1 u like more, follow ur heart...

Fully agree for NVH, HE win hands down.
Don't agree with FC. Forte old engine while HE new dual cvvt. HE should be better.
Just compare old Toyota vvti and new dual vvti engine. New engine FC win hands down.
*
i dun wan to fight as this is HE's thread.....but all i can say is my 1.6Forte 4 spd can go up to 430km per full tank full city drive, using RON95 esso/bhp/caltex
feature is included safety .....that's y i said forte wins...same goes with extras in KOUP....
i knw is 4 doors vs 2 doors in Elantra 1.8P vs Forte Koup, but i was refering to C-segment vs C-segment, not C-segment vs B/D-segment....that's wat i mean in apple vs apple, orange vs orange.....as alot of ppl like to compare Forte vs VIOS/CITY when i m in Forte Club....that's call apple vs orange...
The CONS of HE 1.8P is the waiting period super long as a SKD model...the interesting part i see in HE 1.8P is electric driver seat and rain sensor...nothing else...

haha, haven't heard 'DUGONG' word for long long time...best describe for VIOS....really DUGONG look...btw, my FC never below 400km....at minimum oso 41xkm(after i de-mod my exhaust n change back to original)....i am a real light footer at most of the time, cruising around 70km/h at city...petrol brand n grade and engine oil also got to do with FC...

Hi XionCity..I'm planning to buy HE asap. Any suggested variant?HE 1.6 MT ok or not? I just don wan to q 4 too long..huhu
*
In the waste case senario, HE 1.6 STD either MT or AT not yet release to Malaysia yet. If you want, no problem, but expect waiting period up to 5-6 months AFTER your bank loan approved.
HE 1.8 Premium have to waiting around 2-3 months AFTER your bank loan approved, while the fastest waiting period is HE 1.6 High Spec, which waiting period is around 1-2 months AFTER your bank loan approved.
Now came with new pricing for 1.6 High Spec and 1.8 Premium nationwide, 1.6 High Spec had been increase by RM2k which makes the price : RM98,888.00 OTR, while 1.8 Premium had been increase by RM3k which makes the price : RM114,888.00 OTR starting TODAY(21st July 2012)....
the waiting period for HE had been delayed(same with other KIA/HYUNDAI models) because currently Hyundai and KIA having a STRIKE at the Factory in SEOUL, Korea.....which makes production delayed until further news...
