Just called up Hyundai Customer Care...booked on 14th July 1.8 creamy white. According to them, production for 1.8 will start only next month and my queue is 2843..delivery estimated in Dec..
Now, im in real dilemma..cancel booking and get another car or ask for 2013 car...i've ask the CS, according to him, they wont be giving any discount even delivery is in dec for a 2012 car...

What good thing??? My good thing is I switched to latest Ford Focus.

Sime Daddy is killing themselves....

go for it, for the extra RM4k, you wont regret....

At first, I also ding dong whether to get the + or not. After looooooooong consideration. I finally decided to buy the standard. Reasons:

I dont need the sunroof (Dusty, not practical in Malaysia)
I dont need the Auto Park Assist (I am expert in side parking)
I dont need the Auto Cruise (City Drive)
I dont need the HID (I hate those using HID)
I dont need the City Stop (Be alert when driving, never rely on computer)
I dont need the Follow me Home (wat???? my Exora also got this feature)
The last and main reason, if the above system failure, your wallet will bleed like waterfall! hehehe!

just my 2 cents and opinion.

got a feeling that the price increase is so that after the budget, if there is a drop in car price, it'll revert back to the old price. anyone got this feeling?

What do you think my queue number 2843 is for? I booked mine on 14th July 2012 and you booked yours on 22nd July 2012...does it make sense if its for 1.8 creamy white?

Yup off course elantra sexy then focus, from any angle

I agreed, those functions above can be managed by driver easily. I dont think you need the car to decide for you when to witch on the headlamp, when to operate the wiper etc. No doubt, HE is very sexy, modern in outlook. And Ford Focus is more focus toward performance and car handling pleasure. If you manage to try both car, you will notice the different. I am not the car expert but I believe continental car however is more solid than Korean car. No offence, just my personal's view....

The SA told me last time, when you get your car is very much depend on how many car the SD allocation to each distributor. i.e.:

Distributor A received 100 bookings
Distributor B received 30 bookings

If both only receive 20 car per allocation, who do you think will get the car 1st? Not sure is true, but sound logic.

  will you still want to accept the delivery of your car by then? I will forgo my car and insist on getting a 2013 car even if i have to wait .

Managed to test drive the Titanium+ at Ipoh last weekend. My unbiased view as below:

Pros
1) Its a drivers car! Acceleration, driving dynamics is top notch! Miles ahead of the koreans and dare i say the japs
2) Surprisingly, the ride was pretty comfortable.
3) NVH is acceptable although i still think the HE has an advantage here
4) LOADS of features!! the Sync thingy is pretty impressive. The BLIS is also pretty handy.
5) Passenger width space - sits 3 adults across pretty comfortably. very surprising.
6) Nice mix on interior soft and hard plastics. The hard plastics certainly dont look like it until you touch it.
7) Nice dial controller for the headlamps/drls
8) loads of bootspace!
9) 3 years or 60k free maintenance/5 years or 200k warranty for ALL parts!
10) Full eco mode

Cons:
1) The HU is pretty congested. Kinda distracting
2) No Reverse Cam or Touch screen HU
3) Build quality is kinda suspect. The door closing is not solid. Kinda surprising. I would have thought it would be better than the HE.
4) Rear legroom space is kinda limited.
5) Weird design for the tiptronic gear shifts. Dont think i will ever be using them in this position.

All in all i had a great time with this car. hmmm.... decisions... Seriously i think SD is really killing their HSDM branch. They should NOT have imposed the 3k increase for the HE1.8!!!!!!!

actually most of my points ;especially point 1; are not compared directly against the HE unless stated i just providing my unbiased review of the focus. Its a real impressive car. my only concern is on the after sales service and parts. My colleague told me his fiesta side mirrors cost him 3k a pair. not sure if its exaggeration on his part or not.

after much consideration, i think i would still stick to the HE, mainly on the comfort and space that is provided (design as well). Unless there is a sudden drop in the taxes for new cars in the coming budget announcement, i think i will still wait out my booking..

What's the current waiting period or expected delivery for those book in June and July? Or even may customers if they r still waiting.

just hold till jan/feb n demand the 2013 model

You go and slam the door from 45 degree with full force. The SA demo it for 5 times in front of me on the new Titanium +. Shocked me! damn!

for me the Hyundai Elantra leg room is damn big la..

i am 181 cm tall and i sit back and front with plenty of leg room with out adjusting anything..

i supposed to get my car today.. but since i outstation i pushing it to thursday.

Called on 27 Sept 2012 at 11.20 a.m, Q-number is 615 for 1.8 creamy white. Book at 02/07/2012.

Customer Care told me will get the car on mid of Nov or early of Dec 

The strike already end why still need to wait so long???

If gov't confirm decrease the car price in this 2 months, sure a lot ppl cancel their order~~~
