QUOTE(xstatic @ Sep 21 2012, 05:41 PM) Just called up Hyundai Customer Care...booked on 14th July 1.8 creamy white. According to them, production for 1.8 will start only next month and my queue is 2843..delivery estimated in Dec.. your 2843 queue number is general queue number or for 1.8 creamy white? Now, im in real dilemma..cancel booking and get another car or ask for 2013 car...i've ask the CS, according to him, they wont be giving any discount even delivery is in dec for a 2012 car... i booked on 22 July, general queue number 3477 and 672 for 1.8 creamy white. Customer care told u that delivery estimated in Dec? |

QUOTE(michaelnct @ Sep 22 2012, 11:22 PM) At first, I also ding dong whether to get the + or not. After looooooooong consideration. I finally decided to buy the standard. Reasons: You go for the sedan or hatch? I dont need the sunroof (Dusty, not practical in Malaysia) I dont need the Auto Park Assist (I am expert in side parking) I dont need the Auto Cruise (City Drive) I dont need the HID (I hate those using HID) I dont need the City Stop (Be alert when driving, never rely on computer) I dont need the Follow me Home (wat???? my Exora also got this feature) The last and main reason, if the above system failure, your wallet will bleed like waterfall! hehehe! just my 2 cents and opinion. Actually i do seriously compare on it too ( both focus vs elantra ) honestly, the lower spec is quite impressive as well, and i do agree with your point above. let me try to grant the permission 1st btw, just some extra info about things that not having in focus low spec and you didnt mentioned : ( sorry i know this is Elantra thread - Curtain airbag - rain sensor - auto headlamps - cluster variable dimming - auto dimming rear view mirror - BLIS ( for sedan ) Anyhow, i also feel that elantra is more sexy then focus the space in the car is quite impressive, the outlook.... not sure about performance (although of coz it wont be better then focus ), but i not really a racer i just more concern on the handling, get some feedback that the handling is not that good... Added on September 23, 2012, 1:03 am QUOTE(eaglex @ Sep 23 2012, 12:07 AM) got a feeling that the price increase is so that after the budget, if there is a drop in car price, it'll revert back to the old price. anyone got this feeling? so for me who get the old price... nothing special after the budget btw, who do i contact to join the elantra md club on fb? sent email, a week no response... zzzz This post has been edited by terdit: Sep 23 2012, 01:03 AM |

QUOTE(xstatic @ Sep 23 2012, 10:30 AM) What do you think my queue number 2843 is for? I booked mine on 14th July 2012 and you booked yours on 22nd July 2012...does it make sense if its for 1.8 creamy white? relax bro Didnt i say i just called customer service??? Who do you think would have told me the delivery is expected to be in dec?? Added on September 23, 2012, 10:37 am Bro, service centre uses 10w40? If yes, wont it void the warranty? just to double confirm, coz i call on 18 sept and the customer service told me around nov. they base on my booking date then +4 month, so i wonder how come they tell u on dec. maybe mine is not latest info QUOTE(Old1030 @ Sep 23 2012, 08:17 AM) very agree QUOTE(michaelnct @ Sep 23 2012, 12:09 PM) I agreed, those functions above can be managed by driver easily. I dont think you need the car to decide for you when to witch on the headlamp, when to operate the wiper etc. No doubt, HE is very sexy, modern in outlook. And Ford Focus is more focus toward performance and car handling pleasure. If you manage to try both car, you will notice the different. I am not the car expert but I believe continental car however is more solid than Korean car. No offence, just my personal's view.... Yup i also agree those "extra" function on high spec are actually some that not really needed. Added on September 23, 2012, 12:15 pm The SA told me last time, when you get your car is very much depend on how many car the SD allocation to each distributor. i.e.: Distributor A received 100 bookings Distributor B received 30 bookings If both only receive 20 car per allocation, who do you think will get the car 1st? Not sure is true, but sound logic. i tried both car, but only tried focus after sometime i tried elantra, so hard to recall back the feel to compare both, some more i not really expert one more things i like on the focus is the front sensor. i prefer front sensor more then reverse camera. anyhow, u make me think of getting the low spec focus is enough |

QUOTE(xstatic @ Sep 23 2012, 04:52 PM) Are you considering buying another car? P/s : i called them on 22nd of sept..so "technically" my info should be a "little" more updated than yours..but anyhow, they could be bullshitting everyone of us here..its their words against us, as we dont know what is really going on... i more interested to see what will the budget 2013 announce first. for now will still wait first as i'm buying elantra with old price ( RM111,888), if cancel now and wait for 2013 means need extra 3k (ignore the budget 2013 first as haven out ) i'm considering ford focus now, as if really as your info, then i can't really wait till December. So let me call again tomorrow, also wait ah jib got announce the 2013 budget then only make the final decision |

QUOTE(mav3rick @ Sep 24 2012, 11:31 AM) Managed to test drive the Titanium+ at Ipoh last weekend. My unbiased view as below: ProsPros 1) Its a drivers car! Acceleration, driving dynamics is top notch! Miles ahead of the koreans and dare i say the japs 2) Surprisingly, the ride was pretty comfortable. 3) NVH is acceptable although i still think the HE has an advantage here 4) LOADS of features!! the Sync thingy is pretty impressive. The BLIS is also pretty handy. 5) Passenger width space - sits 3 adults across pretty comfortably. very surprising. 6) Nice mix on interior soft and hard plastics. The hard plastics certainly dont look like it until you touch it. 7) Nice dial controller for the headlamps/drls 8) loads of bootspace! 9) 3 years or 60k free maintenance/5 years or 200k warranty for ALL parts! 10) Full eco mode Cons: 1) The HU is pretty congested. Kinda distracting 2) No Reverse Cam or Touch screen HU 3) Build quality is kinda suspect. The door closing is not solid. Kinda surprising. I would have thought it would be better than the HE. 4) Rear legroom space is kinda limited. 5) Weird design for the tiptronic gear shifts. Dont think i will ever be using them in this position. All in all i had a great time with this car. hmmm.... decisions... Seriously i think SD is really killing their HSDM branch. They should NOT have imposed the 3k increase for the HE1.8!!!!!!! 1) Its a drivers car! Acceleration, driving dynamics is top notch! Compare to HE, still HE is more spaces 6) Nice mix on interior soft and hard plastics. The hard plastics certainly dont look like it until you touch it. 7) Nice dial controller for the headlamps/drls 8) loads of bootspace! HE also wont lose on this 9) 3 years or 60k free maintenance/5 years or 200k warranty for ALL parts! 10) Full eco mode Cons: 1) The HU is pretty congested. Kinda distracting No Comment 2) No Reverse Cam or Touch screen HU But i think the front and back sensor is quite impressive, but of coz no DVD player for focus 3) Build quality is kinda suspect. The door closing is not solid. Kinda surprising. I would have thought it would be better than the HE. let me try this out on coming weekend 4) Rear legroom space is kinda limited. i agree. the seat is too straight, almost 90 degree 5) Weird design for the tiptronic gear shifts. Dont think i will ever be using them in this position agree too |

QUOTE(mav3rick @ Sep 24 2012, 01:58 PM) actually most of my points ;especially point 1; are not compared directly against the HE unless stated Ya my friend's fiesta parts also quite expensive, that is 1 of the concern too. after much consideration, i think i would still stick to the HE, mainly on the comfort and space that is provided (design as well). Unless there is a sudden drop in the taxes for new cars in the coming budget announcement, i think i will still wait out my booking.. Will HE parts that costly? anyone changed anything? side mirror? rims? According to SA, focus parts should be fine as is from Thailand. and according to my friend, the service center are quite ok too, although they are a bit slow, but they check in detail. I actually happy with HE the car, but then the waiting period extended again... |

QUOTE(michaelnct @ Sep 24 2012, 04:05 PM) Cheras Trio Mantap, Taman Midah, near Tesco Extra. you means your wife is 170cm but no complain when sitting inside the focus? actually front and seat space still ok, as is adjustable. Added on September 24, 2012, 4:11 pm Cons: 1) The HU is pretty congested. Kinda distracting Agreed! My wife 170cm, my mum 165cm, but didn't complaint 2) No Reverse Cam or Touch screen HU This is the missing part! 3) Build quality is kinda suspect. The door closing is not solid. Kinda surprising. I would have thought it would be better than the HE. You go and slam the door from 45 degree with full force. The SA demo it for 5 times in front of me on the new Titanium +. Shocked me! damn! 4) Rear legroom space is kinda limited. Agree. 5) Weird design for the tiptronic gear shifts. Dont think i will ever be using them in this position And the and brake too! for reverse camera, i feel the sensor is enough. but maybe a GPS is needed. You go and slam the door from 45 degree with full force. The SA demo it for 5 times in front of me on the new Titanium +. <-- LIKE and which break u means is weird? |
