Hi guys! I've just bought my Nexus 7 today and I'd like to get a gps app for it, is there any good recommendation?

Hey guys, I have been rooting my Nexus 7 few days ago and it seems that there's a problem updating apps from play store. Then i tried to run some apps and it force closes itself.

I thought it was some small issue and therefore I try to restore factory default and it restarted without restoring anything. Then I googled for few hours trying to flash a stock rom and it seems to be not working. It does flashed and I did cache wipe, data wipe etc and reboot into the rom before I restore.

I even tried to lock my bootloader back but it doesn't work. Anyone help please?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I have tried both Wugs toolkit(user friendly) and mskip toolkit(command prompt) to flash stock rom.

Let me explain it again. I am having some problem trying to install apps and I thought it would be some rom matter and therefore I tried to do a factory restore. However when i restore it from setting it reboot into CWM recovery (which might because i flashed permanent CWM recovery). After that I tried to flash to stock 4.1.1 rom which i get from official google dev web. By using both of the toolkit i flashed it it seems to be working without error ( there's 3 but i googled it and everybody seems to have it). After finishing the flashing it is suppose to be back to google account setup stuff but it didn't. It actually back to the stage where I have not started flash anything (where the problem remains with everything I installed still there).

Now I can neither flash any rom nor goes back to stock recovery. Is there any method to save it?

PS: In short, Anything I flashed that show flashed successfully actually did not succeed. And back to the stage where I haven't started to flash.

I did flash it as a full zip file without extracting it. But it didn't seems to help at any way.

yes, i did, and everything run flawlessly until it reboots. Do I have to flash TWRP to flash? Coz I'm currently using CWM recovery. If yes, how do I flash TWRP?

what do you mean by CNA rom? I did selected correct version to back to stock, but now it doesn't seems to be able to flash anything. I mean when I flash, it does everything, but once reboot, it back to the previous stage again. Is this a sign of bootloader unlock problem?

I did wipe everything before and after flashing. Nope, I have not flashed anything before, just unlock bootloader and rooted it(alone with permanent CWM using toolkit). Then I couldn't restore stock anymore. Basically right now as long as I reboot, it will back to the same state no matter what I do (Install/uninstall app, flash, etc)

Added on August 24, 2012, 11:05 amyes I did, I even tried to download a few different time, but it still doesn't work as it should be.


Besides that, I couldn't even flash any TWRP recovery image, whenever I flash it and reboot, it goes back to the same state again and I reboot manually to recovery, it goes back to CWM again. My device is like a permanent hard disk that couldn't write anymore.

Yes, it is unlocked. I'll try to flash another rom and back to stock right now, any recommended one?

It seems that it require a full wipe before flashing and I am unable to wipe anything right now. Is it safe to flash it right away?

I did wipe everything, but it seems to be not working. It shows that it is working but once it reboot, it turn back into previous state again.

PS:No error message at all

alright, i try to flash it this time after wiping everything. will post my status after testing

Added on August 24, 2012, 11:43 amI put in the update zip file into my device and checking it at those file explorer and i confirmed it is there. However when i reboot it into the CWM, the file is gone. How? By the way I could not mount /sdcard, is this maybe the problem?

I did installed quickboot, but here's the problem now. I pushed the zip file into my internal sd card and i reboot into recovery mode using quickboot and right away i went to sd card and check but the file is gone, thats means whenever my device shut down, it back to the default state. May I know if you guys could actually mount your SD card in recovery mode?

Yes I did. I tried both mskip and wug method, but it doesn't make any difference. Now i could not flash anything or even lock bootloader back to send back for warranty. seriously out of idea already

Actually in short means no matter what I do to the device, it will not have any changes. I can never flash anything nor modify any files in it. As an example, I install an app into it and reboot, the app will automatically gone, while I uninstall an app and reboot, it will come back again. The changes is not only in the app, but even I flash the whole new rom, it didn't actually installed it and came back to the one that I have flashed over it.

Hmm guys, I have sent my device back to the shop i bought it and let them to have a look on it. Hope they could fix it without sending it back to oversea for warranty or else it would be costly and very time consuming.

hmm, not sure, but i've tried to untick everything before and flash it again, but it didn't work anyway either.

Hi everybody! The shop i bought gave me a new one to one exchange for my problem nexus 7! Big clap for Satu Gadget Dot Com shop that is under PGRM for their good service!

Besides that, is there any recommended USB otg(apps and cable) that can allow my nexus 7 to connect with thumbdrive/logitech F710 controller?

Where did you get the cable for S2? Samsung shop?


I couldn't factory reset nor modify any files on my tablet(Not even flashing new rom). Any changes goes back to default(files came back even factory reset) once I reboot it. I have been asking this for like 3 pages in this thread but nobody seems to have faced the same problem with mine before so I sent back to them for repair, but it seems that they couldn't and might need to send back to Asus which will drag me another 2-3 weeks, so instead they gave me a new set.
