Guys, pre-orders may start shipping next week  !!! smile.gif

http://thedroidguy.com/2012/07/google-nexu...ping-next-week/

The news started picking up after a customer was told by Google that he cannot cancel his order as it had already entered the shipment and delivery preparations. Now we’re not sure if this could count as official confirmation, but something is better than nothing right? Further, Staples’ listing of the tablet mentions that it will start shipping between the 12th and 17th of July.

It's not uncommon for these kinds of highly hyped devices to ship earlier than expected, just to get them into customer's hands faster in order to maintain the launch momentum. I just hope they maintain a high level of QC even if they're rushing to meet demand. Would be bad publicity if many early devices had problems, especially for people like us who are ordering from a foreign market.

I'm wondering why that customer wanted to cancel, though. :-/

Once you pre-order, you can't change. If you want to change number of device or change to different model, have to cancel and resubmit new order.

You need US address. Or use those forwarding services to order.

About the OTG matter ...
I jut read a post about a person successfully rooted n7 but not able to watch video directly from usb device but he could transfer the file to n7 and watch it ...

My question is ... can we use OTG to connect ALL usb devices ?? Example 500 gb external hdd.

I have read about this somewhere.. the OTG hack allows all types of usb mass storage, except for the spinning disk type. E.g, external hard disk.

Not sure if i understand it correct though. Other tablet can support external hard disk? All I know is that even ipad do not allow that kind of stuff so there is not many reason to be disappointed.

Not sure how to help you. I just wait for half year see whether it's officially here. If it isn't, then buy AP set laugh.gif I believe it will be cheap by that time. If you're not rushing, why don't wait for 1 month or so, wait forumers bring them in in large quantity.

Actually... It can support mass storage but maybe not all 2.5" harddisk. 3.5" powered harddisk shouldn't be a problem. The main problem here is the power supply. USB harddisk is meant to function at 5V while tablet/phone batteries is normally 3.7V with a max voltage of 4.2V. You can't expect it to perform like a USB port on our laptop/PC. The current output is also much much lower. If you get what I mean icon_idea.gif
