These voice recognition i agree is not perfect. But need some practice. My initial success rate was also about 50 % but has gone up to near 90% I'd say. My English is typical Chinese English with Cantonese accent. Even SIRI faces same issue. Anyway these stuffs i consider more gimmick than really practical
Some examples i just tested : all captured at one go

I have the same problem. Google now only understand american english. Damn mind boggling.

Hmm, while trying Google Voice on my Nexus S, I did went into Google Now-> Settings -> Voice -> Language and try a couple of different languages, including Bahasa Melayu and Cantonese, both of them works 50% of the time for me.

However the english one works 90% for me, especially those "remind me" command, now I find it faster than setting alarm manually, the only problem is I need to go in a clear the alarms from time to time.

Note that the way google voice search (I think google now is simiilar) works, is that it will recognize and match to those words and phrases that people usually search on google, so if you ask "who is the prime minister of malaysia" this type of question, it should be 100%, but if you ask, "who is the wife of the prime minister of malaysia", then for me its 0%.

Asus service is the best
Wohoo...

I got back my nexus 7 from lowyat Asus service center.

Sent on Monday received on Thursday. Not bad.
Wanna hear my claiming drama?

Well I sent it in on Monday. At first I jz want to go there report my issue, and bring my tablet home continue use until spare part arrive. But the lady there insist I keep my tablet there. So I gave her lo.
Yesterday I suddenly remember my tablet is still rooted. Boot loader unlocked. And its on paranoid android!!

Once the technician there on my tablet, he will surely see the unlock icon, and the paranoid boot animation, and I'm screwed.

So today I went lowyat, bring my laptop, hoping to take my nexus7 back restore factory image n lock the bootloader.

When I reach there the lady say mine repair already n return my tablet to me. No questions asked.

Hahaha.... so lucky

@jpeg
You can go take bek ur tablet already.

Bloody hell... I called them yesterday evening. They said they replaced the LCD for me already, the day before yesterday. But the status is STILL under testing for QC. Not approved for release to customer yet. The guy on the phone said must be something unusual as normally QC testing after repairs shouldn't take 2 days! Kanasai! I told them to give me update today, to let me know EXACTLY what is wrong. No phone call fromm them yet. Kanasai!

WOW - this has also prompted me to test mine. Never bother testing the mic as i never see need to use it. Just tested with Google Now - perfect voice recognition and perfect answers received !
*
The store was gonna replace a new unit but unfortunately they dont have stocks. So they gave the faulty unit to me to use for few a while before the new stocks come. in.I think I can live without mic for temporary (even I use Skype and Hangout a lot!)

If my new unit has faulty too, I'm gonna ask a refund and consider to buy other tablet

Just a bit of an update: I called them up again after my last posting here. Still "under testing"! What the hell! They actually changed the LCD and the "top panel" (whatever that means, I can only think of the plastic frame).

I checked on Tuesday, the guy said parts gonna be installed and thereafter tested and I should be able to collect within this week. He said should be very fast now.

Called on Wednesday, the guy said parts installed and under testing. Should be ready for collection by Friday.

Called Thursday (yesterday), the guy said "Hmmm... mebbe got problem, shouldn't take so long to test".

Called today, Friday, the guy said still under testing and normally takes 2-3 working days to test (probably bullshitting me as he said this only after I told him of my earlier enquiries and the answers that I got). But I did not shout at them or anything. Yet. The time for that has not come yet. And I also do not want to rush them too much, in case it's true that they are really still testing.

Will give them till middle of next week before I start "shouting". If there is a problem during testing, they should at least call me and tell me what exact problem they are experiencing. At least I know more. And they did promise me to get an exact update from the engineer yesterday and to call me about it. No call is forthcoming.

oh, screen i think will take longer lo.

speaker is very easy to fix.
just unscrew some 4 screws then can remove the speaker d.

the speaker's power wire is connected to the main board with detachable wires.
it is not soldered into it. easily can connect and remove.

if i got the spare part, i think i might be able to replace myself also.
its really easy

Yes I am on the latest 12 sep build. I always update to each nightly. It is Ok with me and in fact I find the CNA rom is one of the better roms around. My other favorites are TeamEOS

BTW I have now decided to keep my nandroid backups on my 64GB thumb drive - these relief a lot of space from the tablet - i always has 3 backups - original stock rom ( about 650 MB ) and CNA and TeamEos ( each about 1.8 GB)
I dont know whether CWM recovery allows you to backup to external drive but latest TWRP Recovery v2.2.2 allows it. Backing up and restoring just takes about 500 sec each
