Just got my Nexus 7 from JB HiFi Auckland. NZD439.



Haven't unbox it yet. It's 5:27pm here and I got a dinner and movies with friends to go before I come back later for the proper unboxing.

Just reached hotel and unboxed the Nexus 7. Perfect screen, no blemishes whatsoever. Came out with 50% battery charge left. Stock sticker shows it arrived Auckland on the 19th.

The box is a b**** to open and unbox. Very nice feel of the back panel. Like golf ball. Charging it back with my Galaxy Nexus charger/microUSB cable.

Already took a video but not uploading it here in Auckland since data charges here(even Wifi) is expensive plus limited with data cap.

Just got mine, and I agree about the box. The initial stage (the part where you have to slide it out) requires a power level of 9000+.... Seriously, you can enter that box in some sort of World's Strongest Man competition. >_<

Anyways, I just spent the last hour setting it up. First I examined all the edges, the glass the micro-usb port, the glass again, the back ..etc.

then set up my account, downloaded all my apps. Then did a dead pixel test. Then tested the navigation.. accelerometer seems to be working good, though I need to confirm later with some games.

No problems so far. Touch wood. Currently charging the bugger. Gonna try out more after a full charge.

First impressions:
It's built quite well. The back is lovely. The voice assistant for UK-English sucks. He's some cocky sounding guy, damn arrogant. Like those Earl's of Buckingham palace or something. The type of personality you definitely want to bash with a hammer in real life. . Change to the US English version for the sexy girl. Much better, although the stupid Americans still cannot spell "tyre" and "colour" correctly >_>

No $25 free credit or Transformers or books (there's no big media widget like in the reviews), which was to be expected, but I don't really care about that.

Oh, yeah, the thing is fast. Jelly Bean itself isn't really that new to me since I already have a Galaxy Nexus, but the apps all open faster on this Nexus 7 thanks to the faster processor, probably. I only had a bit of lag the first time Google+ was synching after the 4.1.1 update.

Don't plan to root it just yet. will see how it runs for a week or two.

Just received my yesterday. To answer some of the questions that you guys have.

What observe so far
- No light leakage ( i had horrible time with my previous Asus Transformer)
- Screen slightly lifted up , about 1mm -ish, no noticeable.
- no creaking
- charging well
- no dead pixel
-did not get the 25USD credit..i did activate using US VPN

Mine is 16GB model if that makes any difference

anyone know which lowyat shop have sell Nexus 7? Will walkaround there tomorrow. I still dont know want iPad3 or Nexus 7 :s

they state it 1 year malaysia warranty

Just made the purchase at ipmart and chose COD option for payment settlement. They charge an extra rm 6.60 for this which is reasonable considering I pay only when I have received and verified the goods.

Let's wait for their call to verify my order tomorrow

Only this nexus  dont come with warranty reason its important from usa as its not launching in malaysia yet

Meaning that it does not comes with Original Warranty.
The warranty is with iPmart

however we only give one month warranty so for the error to show one year

For those planning to purchase from ipmart, just know that their service is terrible. I placed an order to them yesterday and they promise to deliver the device by 12pm today. For whatever reason, they've chosen taqbin (Yamato Transport Sdn Bhd) to be their courier company.

I've been constantly calling that company and it's been a wild goose chase since. First I  have to call the headquarters which then tells me to call the delivery person which then proceeds to tell me he has no such package. Then I have to call the headquarters which then tells me to reconfirm my shipping address...and the process repeats. This is just F' up. It's 3.27pm and I've yet to get an update from them.

Don't think I can recommend any of my friends to purchase from them.
Lets see if I get my device today. If not, I have all the intention to cancel the order since I opted for COD.
