if it does not support OTG and MHL to HDMI, i will hold my horse and wait for better configuration from Asus. Asus will definitely come out with an almost identical form factor tablet but with all the bell and whistle - microSD slot, OTG, MHL HDMI, 3G, etc. My budget for the Asus one will be around RM1,000-RM1,200 for WiFi only version... start dreaming and finger crossed.

QUOTE(AmeiN @ Jun 29 2012, 09:35 AM) lastest hardware - YES, but nothing new on hardware except the new price point. I think the MHL HDMI has been squeeze out by the low price point. Since one of the review site has confirm it has no MHL HDMI, i will skip this for the time being. |

From Brian Klug @ AnandTech
QUOTE Update: I've had many emails and questions about whether USB-OTG (On The Go) is supported on the Nexus 7, and didn't touch on it when I originally hit publish becuause I wasn't entirely sure. I've now confirmed that USB-OTG is supported on the Nexus 7, and works on the current Android 4.1 non-final build that has been sampled. That's encouraging, and I'll test it myself when I get home and to my miniUSB OTG adapter Source: http://www.anandtech.com/show/6054/google-...s-7-mini-review Btw, I opened a new Google/Gmail account, put my country as Australia and made an oder for a 16GB Nexus 7. It'll be delivered to my sister who lives there. Supposed to ship mid-July, so most probably will get my hands on one early Aug. Still not sure whether she's coming back or I have to pay for the UPS delivery. Who knows, by then it might even be released here already, although I'd still opt for the Oz version cos of the Australian Play Store and AUD$25 rebate for Play Store purchases. I doubt Asus will release their own version so soon, as the Nexus will eat its sales. Plus, I'm sure they have some sort of understanding with Google. Anyways, if it does come out, good for you. I personally won't buy any model that doesn't have a Nexus name on it.
Anyways, I got the order confirmation receipt. Stupid thing is; the receipt states it's going to be sent from Google Asia Pacific Singapore to my sister's address in Australia, and Singapore doesn't even have a launch date yet!! So basically my Nexus 7 is going from Singapore to Australia and then back to where I live in Singapore again. WTF!! O_o This post has been edited by G-17: Jun 29 2012, 11:44 AM |

QUOTE how bout warranty? Most probably won't be supported. Best case scenario will be that Asus Malaysia rep might contact US branch on your behalf and give you details on how to ship it to their US tech department, at your own cost obviously. |
