t2 - single cylinder
naza blade a.k.a hyosung comet in korea - v-twin

pricing more or less the same.
spare part for blade can be taken from other bikes.
naza assemble blade in their factory in shah alam.

Naza blade looks average.. nothing speciall..

Sym t2, just launched... better looking ...

if ppl look at t2 without realize it is sym, they might think it is RM60k bike..

Blade 250R uses a downsize version of Suzuki SV650 engine....

Parts can be shared with suzuki bikes...

Pistons can use from FX125...

Lotsa other customizable parts....

Parts support is better than the SYM....

Also Blade sounds real good.... V-Twin engine as opposed with T2 single cylinder.....

If not for this thread, I didn't even know the T2 and Megelli existed. Great looking bikes with a low asking price.

Manage to get ur bike yet???
Im thinking to get the sym bike.. just wanted to check the colour... from the net, the red colour look interesting...
anywhere in penang i can see the red colour sym t2, do suggest? I've seen white n yellow...

and btw, anyone know how much the carbon exhaust protector price?

oh yeah.. for those who wanna speed with bike... not recommend to get.. max speed is a bit more than 130.. u can go up to 150 but it depends on wind and road condition (like going down)
but if u wanna cruise at 100-120kmh, nice.. feel very comfortable

well.. 150kmh on a good day...
i think no way la the bike can go up to 180kmh... if im not mistaken this bike hav a rev cut-off... but not sure wats the cut-off point.. maybe u can ask them when u r at the factory.. personally this bike is not a speed demon

if u got opportunity do ask bout the muffler protector.. wandering how much the price...

Added on July 14, 2012, 6:14 pmfrom this review.. the rev cut-off is at 9200rpm

u can read here http://moto-choice.com/en/Bike-Review/213/...rador!.html

im using blade 250r in penang since 2009.i dont think the blade efi is a good choice because there is lots of bad feedback.the old caburator bike is more reliable and for me till now there is no problems at all. i think blade would be more bigger n sexy as for sym t2 my friend just got one today.looks good and like er6n sebiji.blade can go 170 km/h new bike and now my bike top speed dropped to 163km/h.maintenance wise cheap like kapcai.
so its up to personal opinion which bike to choose.sym t2 around 18k and still new so the nobody knows the problem yet.just hang on for a while and see how is the feedback from owners.
gd luck n happy hunting.

just compared the t2 and blade side by side an hour ago. weight favours the t2. riding position is more sporty on the blade but more comfortable in the t2. design is subjective but i find the elements of the t2 more modern than the blade. due to being vertically challenged a little, the t2's lower perceived weight and lower seat are key winning points for me.

imho, on looks and the weight and height in consideration, i would personally take the t2... which i most probably will and trade in my 1984 car to use as downpayment. the t2 is about 3k more than the t2 but i think the advantages are worth the price. not sure how they run though. need to see some comparo reviews. one is a single while the other is a v-twin.

Blade is a better bike than the T2... V-Twin is smoother and have good torque and high end power.... Single just sucks at high rev...

Not to mention the sound....

Summore, Blade uses Suzuki based engine....

I think that was magazines personnel, etc....

Normally factory won't let u test drive.... some more the bike is not registered... hence if something happens, no insurance coverage....

in my opinion la. blade is a wonderful bike. great feel and stability while speeding and taking corners.
blade just abit more mnja biggrin.gif
if possible when u go n change ur engine oil, do change the filter and clean the air box too.
grease the chain often. dont over rev the bike too much or pushing it to the limit.
the efi will notify u with some code errors if u dont change ur filter or clean ur air box for a long period of time
the only main problem of this blade is the rectifier. it tends to malfunction which ends up not charging ur bike's battery. so dont panic when ur bike cant start haha. just take the battery for a recharge and check the rectifier, and if u must change, do change it to another brand thats fitting and matching. biggrin.gif
other than that. FC really gooding for a 250cc. something like using a Yamaha 135LC. just extra rm2 -3 like tht nia

i am a blade owner also, 250r to be precise.
got it delivered by a truck to my condo on July 12th.
yes delivered to my condo.

until now, today it has 0.8km
yes u heard it right, not even 1km.
then u gonna ask, why not even 1km.
Because i simply do not have time to practice using a clutch bike.
got license but that was n yrs ago.

even weekends i am outstation. i am a very bad owner.

im in the klang valley.
went to the dealer and told him i wanted it to be delivered as i have no confidence riding a clutched bike on the road.
so, when they came with the bike, everyone was looking, kids and aunties mostly.
i really really need to find time for her.

depends on ur means and ur license
650 is a brand new story when comes to FC and performance

if u can go for 650, why not ? thumbup.gif
but 650R u need to change ur radiator coolant and water quite often only.

single, v2, l4, v4 .... is just different engine with different spec to suit the purpose, can't really compare with piston unit ....

kawasaki KLR 650 one of the best dual purpose in the market with single piston smile.gif

cant say also
KTM and Begelli single cylinder 200cc very powerful u know
thumbup.gif

but i would go for blade cuz pricing la. V-Twin engine good for low and high ends
single cylinder normally low ends only with very high torque

anyways this is the pricing of Naza blade from Naza Factory

I think the bike assembly plant is in Shah Alam. Maybe can get test ride if you know how to talk.

if buy from naza factory cash RM13888, what do I need to register the bike? I think, need something like custom clearance, etc other than puspakom? Are they provide them? so we just get insurance, and register at jpj?

if buy from naza factory cash RM13888, what do I need to register the bike? I think, need something like custom clearance, etc other than puspakom? Are they provide them? so we just get insurance, and register at jpj?
*
get the form, register plate, roadtax, insurance all by ur own
then bring those forms with the number plate go to naza, fix on ur new baby n vrooommm

free gifts is not my concern, one full face helmet, rain coat, lock, etc......cheap cheap only

personally i m glad i take 250r cause i was thinking on 650r but after 250r for week (good travel time between cheras n shah alam)

i think 5 years later go for 650 cruise type(more enjoy riding)

not sure abt speed differ between 250r n 650r but i think 250r do ok already, u don't really wanna do 200km/h in malaysia roads/highways unless......

I was thinking 650R too before but I have to take B full license made me think another time... 250R and 650R are sharing the same body.. Thus, I decided to take 250R because I am not a fast2 person.. I am more into good looking bike rather than performance.. biggrin.gif ..

i m, not sure abt seng kiat ;-p

cheras - shah alam, shah alam cheras for 1 week already doing 0-140km/h so far so good.

due to traffics n road conditions - not comfort to ride but hell using car it took me daily total 2 hour to 3 to travel back n forth plus tolls rm5.2 daily

using blade 30-40mins 1 way - save me money gas, time......

true 650r engine 90 degree n 250r engine 75 degree i think so not possible to use same body frame, but previous 250r only 1 disc brake now 2 so yay ;-p

i was thinking 650r cause don't felt like upgrade later, but when cost kick in in change my mind to 250r and i must said luckily i get 250r - for travelling cheras shah alam back n forth - its sufficient.

if relax n enjoy riding will be my next 5-10 years plan - cruise 650......

opposite stadium focus racing.. Price quite cheap compare others reliable so so only. Normal service not a problem.so far my naza blade is ok just changed my spocket there.i also modify my back n front signal light.most of minor minor stuff i will do there. More techical stuff gi back to naza bttworth for spare. Where do u buy your bike?go back to the shop that sold u blade.anything they can help u claim n service i think.
Just one thing do not do not go n do setting ur bike or change or modify ur exhaust system.as for new bike the break in 1000km is very important .dont just got new bike full trottle. Later ur engine sure got problem.
Go to sbm under bladers forum .... Plenty stuff can learn from members there.
Happy hunting!

Yes u can use.... BUT.....

Lol, last time i put Castrol Fully Synthetic oil (car) into my bike....
U'll have a smoother engine....
The engine is silent,u felt the engine more 'active'..... and smoother....

The only problem was clutch slip.... Real Bad....

The gear shift is super slow.....

Coz the viscosity of car lube is not suitable for bikes, coz bikes engine rev way higher than cars.....

I hear numerous confusing opinion... hence i tried it myself....

My advise is better u avoid.... laugh.gif

hmm my problem is currently i felt clutch change is a bit tough - too tough i would said - hardly get a nice gear change - not yet 1000km service - did make sure my bike warm up abt 3-4mins prior to use in cool start.

also checked my blade 250r efi recomm engine oil is API SL which is almost API SM (fr my understand just environ more friendly than SL)

and agree with ya the only convincing problem everyone point out is the wet clutch issue when should be cool but engine oil but not lubricate by it ;-p in which the full syn oil for car did but what to said the so call motorcycle syn engine oil didn't? and from my understanding thats y its not just wet plate but wet plates ;-p in fact wet multiplates :-)

anyway very like the syn oil for it high rev and temp resistant as well as economy comparing to those so call special motocycle engine oil when your wet clutch is cool but no oil ;-p

mas your bike is blade also? when one har? carb? when u said slip is like - u masuk gear 2, it slip back to gear 1?

my experience, blade is a good bike for beginner . i my self ride a blade. easy to ride, cheap maintenance in 250cc class, can mix wit other bike part especially suzuki. yes blade 250 naked not as nice look as t2, outlook can be done... the thing is reliable. blade more power compare to t2...

true... blade is a good stepping stone if ur planning to upgrade in the future. there wont be a sudden "shock" or whatsoever cuz blade is pretty powerful for a 250cc

This might be topic a bit - can we use car engine oil on this bike - simple math - i buying 4liter full syn Mobil 1/Shell at RM149.9 and hell sometime RM129.9 while a motobike semi syn 1 1liter cost RM29 or sometime more, for Naza we need 2liter 1 time service right?
*
Unless you want probs with your gear shift, pls avoid

Most engine oil meant for cars contains friction modifier, which will induce clutch slip

I'm quite surprised nobody mentioned the blade 250 runs with 5-speed gearbox as opposed to 6-speed on t2.

first thing is the 4T engine has more braking force than a 2T engine, 2T can rev faster, more torque = 2T more powerful

2nd.... naza blade is pretty heavy for that engine lol, plus big wheels (more traction), plus size (aerodynamics), standard sprocket size, ecu mapping, type of fuel used (RON95 / RON97), exhaust pipping system. etc etc

alot of factors. too many to list sweat.gif

bout 2T vs 4T engines , see here

well.. someone owned kips and he used to be proud of his top speed of 180~190 kmh.. he would literally overtake a rxz with ease.. when one day, he met with a z750.

He was fast on his kips and was hitting 180, when suddenly the z750 coming in quick from behind and in a moment they both were in same pace, side by side. This guy on kips took a glimpse of the digital speedo on the z750 and was shocked, seeing it was only at 140kmh.

This guys on his kips literally back off the throttle and slows down to a stop by the road side and starts thinking that his speed freak world had just gone down..

and he sold his Kips, and went on with 650R blade.

true story. And, that person wasnt me. tongue.gif

hahaha.. that fella (now rides 650R blade) owned his old kips for a good 80k km before the engine jammed. The secret was, 5k km engine break-in period. Not really sure tho, but that's what he told me. 150RR is a good bike, but its also a 'hot' bike.. main targets for the scumbags.

Saw a post, you mentioned that you ride a naked bike and I'm pretty sure you did those maintenance yourself. That was outstanding!
Anyway, I'm planning to buy a 250cc bikes and currently I ride FZ150i. Lets put aside on the FC. My concern is just smooth, easy ride from Puncak Jalil / Putra Perdana to Putrajaya, avoiding the daily 'pecah-perut' traffic jam, especially infront of Giant Seri Kembangan. My budget is no more than RM18k, plus to sell-off my FZ150i.
AFAIK, I found out, there are several bikes reach my eye.

1. Daichi Megelli 250r
2. Naza Blade 250r
3. SYM T2

Can someone suggest to me? Watched a few comparisons in Youtube. But all those reviews, comparisons, are from outside Malaysia and I afraid the specs 'may be' different from ours.

I ride my FZ almost daily. if not raining and not more than 120kmph or else, I 'gayat'. Single cylinder made my a$$ shaking when rev at 7-8k, not to mention the 'geli' from the vibrations.

ps: For the bike size, I'm taking it quite serious because my height is only 158cm. Short yet 'boroi' guy.

Blade 250R & FZ150 riding style similar?
upgrading from my humble EX5 but want a comfortable riding position. speed is not an issue - 120 is enough liao but long distance

also, can some1 confirm that Blade 250R uses air cooling instead of LC?can long distance non-stop for ~2hrs doing 130-140 if air cooled?

Obviously, both of the riding style for the bikes are different. You ride FZ like you ride your EX5. Easy to swerve in traffic. Riding an aggressive position style Blade is like 'leaning' your body to the tank. You have to 'bongkok' a bit due to the lowered handle. Nevertheless, FZ is great for bumper-to-bumper traffic.
anyway, the link mentioned that Blade is using oil cooled system. I'm not pretty sure any difference between air cooled, oil cooled or liquid cooled. Need some time to Google.Blade Spec

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Id suggest Blade than the other two. BUT, blade is higher than fz. Its roughly an inch or inch and a half higher seat pitch. But, this wont be a problem since you are used to FZ's seat pitch. Need to get used to an inch high abit la..

For blade 250 efi, Id honestly say, they are abit 'manja' as in, you might be in and out from shop for repairs or rectifications etc. Its an efi system afterall. While for the 650 efi, the monoshock is too soft for the bike. Most would replace the standard shock to a stiffer shock (most would replace with YSS) to improve bike handling.

Id suggest to look for carb 250r for a peace of mind.

Or, if you have that 18k in cold hard cash, Id say dump it on Blade 650R efi. The 650 efi is less problematic than the 250. Cant say its trouble-free tho but, less headache than the 250 efi. Get the 650 efi and just change the mono to a better one, then you have a good bike.

but then, youd be thinking, I'll better dump it on a Kawa or Yammy instead.. its all about your preferences.

its not similar at all. You will be bending more downward since the R has shorter handle bar. You will experience numbness in your palm since the weight of your body will be sustained by your palm. Trust me, the first day you ride it, it will hurt your palm.

the 250N (naked) is much more comfortable and similar to FZ150's riding style. Like ER6s. Long distance wont be a problem. But youd be taking wind resistance on your body, its gonna press your chest hard if you go faster.

250 can do 140 cruising speed. Top is 170 reaching redline and not recommended to stay on that speed too long. Redline no good for v-twin. For 650, 200+ topspeed. Some may reach more than 220.

250 has oil cooler in replace of water cooler which you would found on 650. No worries bro, many have rode from south to north on a 250.

No worries bro, many have rode from south to north on a 250.

farique,
thank you for your advise. I heard there's a lowering link called 'dog bone' in the market. Is it advisable lowering the Blade using this kind of technique? Or maybe I could shave the seat a bit.
I need to tip-toe myself to make the bike stand still.

By the way, I don't think I can afford more that RM18k for a bike at this current moment.

lowering will certainly affect the handling characteristic of the bike from standard setup. The dog bone can only lower for 250 while it will increase height if you put it on a 650.

shave the seat is a good idea. But, gotta get used to the bike and all is well. Trust me, Ive seen a rider who is roughly the same height as yours rides an ER6N to work daily. Its just a matter of getting used to the bike behavior.

hey, Dani Pedrosa is short too. He barely flat footed on one leg. biggrin.gif

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

*
first thing, isn't the sym T2 a single cylinder engine bike, no?

second thing, go ahead to /k/ bikers kopitiam and mention megelli 250r. we have a bro there who had probs from day 1 until now. most of the time his bike spent the time in the workshop

thirdly, a good condition used ninja250 is about 14-16k. it's rock solid, has lots of spare parts, acceessories, a parallel twin engine, and has well proven qualities

that

or a used blade 250r

why i say used? once u ride 250cc, u'll get the itch to upgrade sooner or later. buying used will save you from depreciation loss

and buying used will allow u some extra money to buy proper riding gear - gloves, boots, jackets, and most importantly a good ff helmet.

hahaha.. that fella (now rides 650R blade) owned his old kips for a good 80k km before the engine jammed. The secret was, 5k km engine break-in period. Not really sure tho, but that's what he told me. 150RR is a good bike, but its also a 'hot' bike.. main targets for the scumbags.

I have posted the links in 2 other threads but if you haven't caught the foreign reviews of the Sym SB250 Ni a.k.a Sym T2 250i here, do have a read. Quite interesting reviews and mostly positive.

The bike is still quite unknown here due to its newness. Maybe those owning those Sym scooters can comment on the brand's reliability, parts pricing and ease of maintenance.

I went to shah alam sec7 showroom+svc center
1st visit there was around early sept.. there was a few bikes 3 to be exact going thru warranty/repair.. common probs such as exhaust bracket broken, starter gear jammed.. mechanic guy says must wait for parts to be delivered from sarawak.OK.. how long to wait for parts one week said the mech.. OK... 3 weeks later my 2nd visit there and I can still see the same bikes there plus 2 more sent for repair.. haha I didn't ask anything and just left the shop n there goes my dream owning a megelli 250r.. If anyone wants to buy the bike just to keep it as a display item at home then ok coz that bike is super gorgeous. Btw try googling redza velocity looks good otr only rm11999.00.. tapi china parts assembled in rawang..none otr yet..

Went to tesco cheras yesterday to take a look on blade 250r. What a gorgeous bike, very muscular for a 250cc bike. Nice bike, good pricing. Too bad, the seat height not suite me. I'm a shorty, 165cm to be exact. doh.gif

went around some bike shops recently and found one that was selling a Black SYM T2 (manufactured date looks like 8/12) for only RM14.8k. The seller says that it was on promotion..

You think that it's a good deal?

[EDIT] called again to check and they said is actually RM16.8k vmad.gif

In that case I found another one that quoted me RM17k for the exhaust modded version. Sounds like not much of a good deal now... sad.gif

well.. someone owned kips and he used to be proud of his top speed of 180~190 kmh.. he would literally overtake a rxz with ease.. when one day, he met with a z750.

He was fast on his kips and was hitting 180, when suddenly the z750 coming in quick from behind and in a moment they both were in same pace, side by side. This guy on kips took a glimpse of the digital speedo on the z750 and was shocked, seeing it was only at 140kmh.

This guys on his kips literally back off the throttle and slows down to a stop by the road side and starts thinking that his speed freak world had just gone down..
and he sold his Kips, and went on with 650R blade.
true story. And, that person wasnt me. tongue.gif

Setuju sangat, saya pernah memandu exora saya, di highway Gurun ke Alor Setar, 150RR, ditengah-tengah fast lane, saya mengikuri dibelakang, dia maintain di fast lane, speed dalam 150 km/h sahaja. bila saya potong, saya dalam 160 km/h dia tak boleh ikut, saya speed sampai 170++ km/h memang kena tinggal jauh-dan-jauh... seterusnya hilang...

Tadi saya semak LC135 saya 120km/h bersamaan 105km/h sahaja. GPS. GPS saya telah disemak, data kelajuannya adalah betul.

I intend to but a 2nd hand 250cc. Attracted to the Naza 250 selling v cheap around RM 6K for a 5yr model compared to a Kawasaki ZZR 15 year old model also same price but heard so much negative feedbacks bout Nazaa in terms of spare parts. Intend to use for travelling between Penang & K Lumpur. Appreciate advice from the experts out there.

Owner since July 2012, so far so good, going for 6k service mid dec 12.

Problem is not engine (service lar on time, jangan mod kalau bkan expert - gua tak mod).

Problem is wiring i guess? now my signals siao blink blink no blink blink, horn also gone - will claim warranty on mid dec 12 service.

Also, ori eksos start karat at the join welding, drive chain also start karat despite i oil it in weekly basis - will complain as well.

For me so long engine no giv me problem since i m week days rider instead of weekend rider.

Btw if u hv experience on big bike pls do go straight 650cc.
When doing 170km/h (meter - gps shown 155-160km/h) u can't help that want moreeeeeeeeeeeeee......

I worry that I need to send back every few months.
And Im not expert smile.gif so wont any mod on the engine.

the eksos might change to a nicer one, but as for the drive chain is this major problem?
because Im using for long distance.

Beginner to big bike. And don't have any plan to go more than 170 la tongue.gif

I just bought the new facelift Blade 650r... damn sexy bike and powerful too... very capable to go 200km/h in very short time... at only 8500 rpm...

Very heavy bike and you will hate traffic jam.... too bad mine suffers from straight line wobble at high speed... the rear absorber too soft... brought it to Naza but they just increase the pre load.. I will claim warranty to change to new absorber..

But I will change to OEM brand adjustable absorber later...

Err i m send back every few month - to service, though some said Naza Official Service Centre (Shah Alam) not nice - sometime outside motor shop is worst, u just changed tyre 3 months yet they told u - bang tayar not good, ada bunga tapi allignment chow...etc. bullshit.

At least in Naza, they do what they hv to do and don't talk nonsense.

And since its not critical electrical/wiring problem, i guess it is acceptable to me.

Reason i said no mod at all - at least not b4 warranty void 1 yr - u changed anything, any warranty claim according to rumour ;-p Naza blaim u, relevant or not, though u will win if it is not relevant - but y waste ur time with them, i no touch anything out of the original - they can't pin anything on me :-)

Naza or not its like asking u want Proton or Honda/Something much better - its ur acceptance or not >_<

Long distance so far i tried until batang kali, selangor (may be after 6k service will do a penang run) - anyway mine is a weekday bike, weekly approx 350km, daily 70km, rain or shine i rather reach home in 30min than stuck in traffic or under bridge for hours.

So far sunny doesn't stall my blade 250r nor rainny does - only those stupid four wheels that thought they can reach home in 30mins than we do in traffic jams ;-p

Nice 200km/j, try clock it using gps - more accu than meter.

Yape u hate it when u stuck in jam with some stp four wheels is worst.

Mine the suspension back is hard, i will see what i can do - after the warranty.

Hehe mod all u want if u hv time n money - like last time kancil some bought it to change everything, turbo lar, facelift lar until the money u put equivalent or more to u buy a waja ;-p

JB using PLUS than UPM Exit using SILK back Kajang?

How long? avg speed? Every week?

Due to my daily distance & roads limitation, only manage to keep 160km/h speed constant for like 5-15min (NPE).

Did u reach KL/Kj to/fr JB in less 2hours? drool.gif

I just bought the bike about 2 weeks ago... so only 2 trips.

JB using plus exit through Nilai toll and up to Semenyih.... 1st trip is 3 hours... engine break in... rain and sitting on the bike seat are really burning my butt..

So last week sunday before going back.. put a mesh type cover on my seat... and the weather was great... speed was only 140~170km/h only but weaving around
cars are fun... and the seat cover was great.... so non stop riding... for 270km... 2 hours...

I was flipping back and forth between the ER6N (used) and a Blade 250N (new). A month ago I was considering the Blade 250N. A week ago I was ready to plonk the money on a B full lesen and the ER6N. Now I'm leaning to the Blade 250N again (due to the ER6N being a largely emotional decision rather than a rational one)

Can anyone provide some feedback on the new EFI facelifted Blade 250N?

Blade efi 250n latest batch consider ok. rear absorber use kayaba. For me blade is enough.. riding blade 3 years already minor prob is acceptable.
