Newbie wishes to learn from sifu here. I was gasping for air when I reached 2km for a 5km run but I managed to finish the run anyway without stopping to recover. I am aiming for 10km run this coming Sep. Could sifu pls tell me how I can finish the 10km run non-stop?

Ran abt 40min for 5km. Quite recently if you meant by me joining a race but I jogged quite frequently in the past. Mostly under 20 min.

QUOTE(panasonic88 @ Sep 13 2012, 08:37 PM) That's exactly what Standard Chartered give as well. Aiyo, like that I wouldn't feel so bad to miss the race. I was thinking they may give discount voucher to buy its goods. Isn't it make more sense for them to do it since they want to promote healthy living among youth (sorry i no youth anymore)?Sometimes have to give credits to certain smaller running event as they tend to give better goodies. |

QUOTE(tenno @ Sep 14 2012, 10:43 AM) If anybody wants to enter race for its goodie bags, then there's only one race worth entering : Men's Health Shape Nite Run... I was told that they will give away finisher t-shirt. Goodies bag, probably a banana pisang emas..The best discounts I think will be from Brooks, RM120, no expiry date. NB will give 30% at most, Adidas RM50. Nike... hahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahhah...joke of the year....hahahahahahahahahhahahahahah Added on September 14, 2012, 10:51 am Altitude training is proly the most misunderstood training concept in endurance training. If U go run PICC hill, or Ammah Hill, or double hill ...that doesn't qualify as altitude training...those are hill training. Even Fraser's Hill barely qualifies as a place for altitude training. Recent article from Popular Science before the Olympics suggested those who live at high altitude & trains at normal altitude (live high, train low) will proly benefit the most. Cameron Highlands is proly the most runner/sport friendly high altitude training spot we have in Malaysia. Forget Genting Highlands, they won't even let U go pass Awana nowadays... & another thing is that, timing is the most essential aspect of altitude training. Even then, until now, there's no conclusive scientific evidence of how much time we need to spend at altitude to gain the most benefit. |

QUOTE(tenno @ Sep 20 2012, 10:55 AM) LYNRers & LYNR FBers, May i know why you created the FB page when we hv the lyn forum here?Effective immediately, I will no longer assign any new LYNR numbers to those frequenting this thread or LYNR FB. Reason being, we see no use for the numbers (at least not yet). U can still request to be LYNR FB member (no numbers will be assigned there as well) at the FB page thru the mods there. As for this thread, anybody can post anything related to this sport. The majority of the events (LSDs, races) will be posted at the FB page as well. Those who have already been assigned numbers will keep the number. This thread remains as a compliment to the LYNR FB. Thank you. |
