QUOTE(tenno @ Jun 26 2012, 10:28 PM) I think we shud have certain rules before giving out LYNR numbers. Some ppl just request & are never seen again. The admins at our Facebook page is also doing the same thing. Maybe new members must have certain number of posts before requesting LYNR number, 20 posts for example. Fully agreed with you. will u be able to monitor the frequencies of contribution or posting fr individual runners herePls be advised that LYNR can offer no other benefits than being part of a very enthusiastic group of runners. No discount at any store (except maybe Choi's)... no membership card, only LYNR vest... for the time being la. I dun mind giving out numbers to anybody, just that I saw our FB admin doing some filtering, I guess it's a good idea to do the same thing here. |

QUOTE(zerigemok @ Jul 1 2012, 02:48 PM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I like 610 alot but 610 is out of range I just saw a comparison pic and 410 is noticeably thicker so I most probably gonna buy 210 now. I don't really need the extra features in 410 except the virtual partner thing |

QUOTE(jack208 @ Jul 1 2012, 03:34 PM) Hmm.. if you can get the 410 for just RM50 more than the 210, I will strongly suggest you grab the 410. Unless you are fashion conscious and needed a slim looking watch to go on non-running days. When you are running, doesn't really matter if the GPS watch is slightly larger, right? The 410 is not that larger than 210 but the extra flexibility in the functionality will be worth your RM50. The FR610 pricing comes with the HRM and 1 yr warranty from local distributorChoi's 610 pricing is very good considering it would be around RM1200 retail. btw Choi is that with or without the HRM (heart-rate monitor) strap? Added on July 1, 2012, 3:37 pmthis might be helpful http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2010/10/quick-t...forerunner.html Added on July 1, 2012, 3:39 pmand if you looked at this comparison page, the 410 is only 0.2 cm thicker? My bet is with 410. http://www.gpscompared.net/garmin-forerunner-210-vs-410/ |

QUOTE(tengster @ Jul 11 2012, 06:34 PM) u gonna clone urself for this 2 events?? Added on July 13, 2012, 9:24 am QUOTE(tenno @ Jul 12 2012, 02:30 PM) Last year Seremban RM20 rite ? Maybe RM15 for early birds. Last year also no online registration.. no chip... but goodie bag was nice... got tiger balm... hahah... IMHO, i think some races in Malaysia doesnt need timing chip. Unless the event have a very big crowd. maybe timing chip is to ease off the manual way of recording the times. But again, Seremban 1/2 marathon have been doing manual recording all these while and doesnt hv much issues. So my opinion was tat they shud hv minimise the cost thereI think goodie bags are sponsored, I mean filled with sponsored goodies, so even if U take away the goodie bag, won't make much difference in terms of entrance fee. The xpensive portion is the online registration, bib, vest, timing chip... water station maybe... This post has been edited by ccube: Jul 13 2012, 09:24 AM |

QUOTE(dude1218 @ Jul 13 2012, 12:50 PM) guys, this year seremban route shorter then last year, just 11.51miles or 18.416km, that i draft the map according their imformation... its not a PB when its under distanceIf real dunt get surprise if u can get PB!! http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/111595971 Added on July 13, 2012, 5:00 pm QUOTE(tenno @ Jul 13 2012, 11:32 AM) Very true. Last year Seremban HM open I think not even 1000 ppl.. this year no goodies at all. Last year Antah Corp. giveaway a plastic bag full of goodies... dun mind really. I really appreciate the simplicity of that event.. tenno, we will not get back the original Seremban Half marathon then. Rm15 for registration, Goodies bag full of goodies from sponsors especially Antah Holdings, and not forgeting the huge Finisher medal. This post has been edited by ccube: Jul 13 2012, 05:00 PM |

QUOTE(dwk2112 @ Jul 24 2012, 02:37 PM) Ok...long time din post here... We HEEL STRIKE all the way during Tokyo Marathon bcos we ran darn slow, HAHAHAHA The topic about Forefoot vs Heel strike is never ending. Though there is no distinct correct way of running, forefoot does reduce the risk of injury. When i start as a newbie, i have no idea that there is so much science and method in running. Its like we are born to eat...u do not know how to chew food....But having say that, it is something that we need to relearn and learn again. When i was heel striking due to my pose or shoe, i got several injuries and started looking into forefoot running. Do some research. There are pose running, chi running etc that teach people the right way to run. And yes, it is un-natural at the beginning and it take a lot of conscious awareness whenever you running. How i did it was to run on treadmill cause the speed is consistent and i start with slow speed running for 1 hour...noticing how i land my feet, bending my knee, adjusting my gait...till i feel the pose and get comfortable with it. And Tenno is right, when you run a marathon, towards the end, its getting very difficult to maintain the pose and you may be running on heel. Your forefoot will be so sore and your body will change the pose and your mind is tired to force yourself to maintain it. My 2 cent Added on July 24, 2012, 6:31 pmIMHO, mid/forefoot gait is ideal if one can transition or even better if one is born with a natural gait. Heel striker are very common, and there are still runners who ran that way bcos its almost impossible for some to change or transition. If one can, then very good. Else as a heel striker, the impact on the heel is much greater. just gotta be more careful. Minimalist or low profile shoes tends to guide one to runs in mid/forefoot gait. Those heavily padded cushion shoes are generally forcing one to heel strike. So if one find out that he/she is a heel striker, trying checking out those low profile shoe that also gives good cushioning n support. This may helps in ur transitioning, if u care to change. QUOTE(tenno @ Sep 21 2012, 10:51 AM) Tht's a common problem even for experienced cyclists... Check Ur saddle la..proly need more padding... I rode for 10 yrs.. For the 1st 3-4 yrs I used a normal RM30 saddle which gave me saddle sore every time.... when I joined the Selangor team a senior gave me his old Selle Italia Turbo, which I used for a few years... then I switched to Selle Italia Flite Ti until I quit... the Flite Ti was the least problematic for me... I still get saddle sore whenever I returned to riding after a long break... we rode a minimum of 60-80km daily.. our long rides can stretch up to 120-140km... so after a while as Ur glute muscles become stronger, saddle sores will gradually disappear... its abt investment if you are going to take cycling seriously and also looking at long distance cycling1. a good saddle is a must as mentioned by Tenno. No expertise in this area but u can ask ard. 2. a good cycling short. my recommendation is DeSoto. Sold many of this to my customers and got very good feedback from them |

QUOTE(tenno @ Sep 27 2012, 11:38 AM) Good job there.. check out the Saucony Hurricane 14 too, great shoe for cushion support and stability. let me know if interested.Actually for Brooks, their flat footer shoe is Beast, but it's not available in Msia.. the closest U can get is Adrenaline GTS..now in series 12. I considered these 2 models actually, GTS 10 & Trance 9.. ended up with Trance becoz GTS support was a bit too much for me... but Trance 9 has been lying around becoz I dun use it really... what size do U use ? I can let it go for cheap, less than 150km used...bought August last year.. |
