I also run in morning, especially in weekend for my LSD. As I'm a slow runner, I start early, sometime 5am. Before that always got excuse no time, with family commitment etc ... only choice is early morning.
Start running since May 2012, and finally join mine first race last week, MPSP Green Run HM with 2H23minute During my run in morning: 1) I always wear white t-shirt 2) Road ID 3) Hydration belt with a blinking light 4) Face traffic 2) Don't carry any valuble item (eg handphone, wallet) Added on August 30, 2012, 1:35 pmI also listen to music, using Ipod Nano with Nike+ sensor (to measure my distant). Have no problem with outside sound, make sure headphone not those insert into the ear canal type / noise canceling type. and like Tenno say - not too loud My powersong is - All American Reject - Move Along Added on August 30, 2012, 1:38 pm QUOTE(tenno @ Aug 30 2012, 11:54 AM) This one I didn't include becoz I run with music on.... Tenno, what sport earphone you use. Mine always spoilt This post has been edited by Maxram: Aug 30 2012, 01:38 PM |

QUOTE(90Boyz @ Aug 30 2012, 02:41 PM) Thanks! By complete the half, I felt great sense of achievement (as just start running seriously a bit). Overall, the route is very flat, weather is nice. In my training, I have confident with a slow pace at around 7:20mins/km. So, my strategy is don't rush out of starting line, and actually try follow some lady gang what work: 1) Hydration 2) take 1 gel in half way 3) start slow 4) knee support work what not work 1) iPod keep falling out - never happened in LSD. Strange Next month, will try the Taiping IM, also HM. Any advice, cause I think there are hills. All my training in my taman very flat, and no chance / have time to go other area to run. Should I go slower? Added on August 30, 2012, 9:27 pm QUOTE(tenno @ Aug 30 2012, 05:28 PM) Senheiser Adidas MX6 series.... had it since 2010, now the cables start to show signs of wear & tear, my bad, I sweat buckets & I never really take care of those earphones, after use just shove back into its carry pouch. Now cable's outer casing start to break edi..but still works just fine, sound's really top notch... I think in the previous thread version we discussed about this, with photos & all... MX680 maybe the model... Thanks for the advice This post has been edited by Maxram: Aug 30 2012, 09:28 PM |

QUOTE(266K @ Aug 30 2012, 09:49 PM) Congra on ur 1st HM, I ran my normal LSD speed that day, no rush relax mode, happy w 2:03. Luckily my regular running route got 750m of 3-4% slope, that will get me ready for coming Taiping.. huhu.. 266K,btw, I m going to Taiping early in the morning race day w another fren, how about u? I also plan to go there on race day, from Butterworth (I stay) to Taiping should not be that far. All, Anyone run Taiping before, is it really hilly? And asking all sifu, do we need hill training? My main concern in PBIM in Nov, there are 2 big "hill" in the middle of the bridge. |

QUOTE(266K @ Sep 4 2012, 09:22 AM) Going Taiping, but will run normal LSD pace, still recovering from ankle injury, lesson learnt for me, don't push myself too hard to get faster timing. my knee got old injury, not due to running but car accident. Since start running recently, I really need to be careful about it, wearing knee support and go slow (good excuse for slow runner U worry about finishing FM or ur timing. FM do more LSD, time do interval, it helps. Also going to Taiping for HM. So far, very little info about it, still not yet sort out how to collect my BIB Year end, I also going to PBIM - FM. I am worry about it too. As said, I only start running last few month, completed 1 HM, Taiping will be next, then Oct will join Rock to Rock (10.3km only). I really lack of running experience beyond HM. My Question :How to train for FM, do I need to run 42.195km in LSD Now, my LSD max is 21km, which already took 2.5 hours, not sure how I can find time allocation to do full distant(estimate 5 + hours). All feedback is appreciate. |

QUOTE(266K @ Sep 4 2012, 05:23 PM) Taiping, think my fren going collect on 15th, a day before race. Just confirmed with the organizer, Taiping IM can collect on 14 September 2012 1.00PM-7.00PMIf u google it, u can see Marathon training doesn't require u to run any FM distance during ur training but weekly mileage shud be preferable > 50km if possible. some training even just required 3 day run per week. 15 September 2012 10.00AM-9.00PM. I'm going to collect on 14 Sep. Thanks for the tips, after Taiping, will prepare for FM. Added on September 5, 2012, 4:16 pm QUOTE(90Boyz @ Sep 4 2012, 05:34 PM) 21Km for 2.5Hours is a good result ... no doubt if you do more LSD like 25KM/30KM then Full Marathon should bnot be any issue for you .. Ok, thanks for the advice. Will try LSD to 30kmAdded on September 5, 2012, 4:17 pm QUOTE(dude1218 @ Sep 4 2012, 05:44 PM) just run 30km in 3:20-3:30, no need run a 42.195km. ok, Thanks.how to allocation time??, this teach by old uncle. HM time x 2 + 10% = +-5%time, quite accurate too if u dint had any cramp Added on September 5, 2012, 4:21 pmOsben and zzzhhhzzz, I guess we all are in same situation. All the best in your training and run. This post has been edited by Maxram: Sep 5 2012, 04:21 PM |

QUOTE(ted.mosby @ Sep 7 2012, 08:14 PM) oh really? i'm confused whether to buy the sportsband or ipod nano + watchband. I'm using iPod nano with Nike + to track my run, quite accurate, and I like listen to music. A cheap solution for me as I got the iPod, and just buy Nike +. However, if you want to go this direction, do wait til 12 sept as apple going to launch new one. I'm hoping something extreme like Motoactv, with GPS, Bluetooth and can hook up to many type of sensor. Added on September 7, 2012, 8:15 pmoh no nike registration is full I was going to buyMotoactv after the price drop but rumor say that google going t to discontinue it. QUOTE(johny2k @ Sep 10 2012, 09:28 PM) Hey guys, yesterday I run at Adidas KOTR, when I pass the 6KM which after drinking area, I saw a girl feel not well & vomit the drinks she just drink. Then her BF just keep running without any feeling!!! If VFF is good for 10km, and you feel great about it. It should be no problem to go with HM. Enjoy and do feedback after that (cause I am looking for my next pair of shoe)OMG!! I dash to her BF there & notice to him about his GF is vomit! Then he baru realize that! If I`m her GF sure buang him liao! Hahahahaha!! Btw, finish my 10KM with super duper slow 1:10:46. But really enjoy it with my VFF. Will try use VFF to run PJ Half Marathon too, my friend say this is suicide! lol Added on September 11, 2012, 8:25 am QUOTE(onthefly @ Sep 10 2012, 12:03 AM) if you have a iPod, you just need to purchase the nike + kit (a receiver and a foot sensor). The receiver to be plug to the iPod, the sensor should be attach to the shoe. By your running motion, the sensor able to detect and measure distant and speed for you.Note: 1) I don't use Nike shoe ( 2) Accuracy - good. Compare to my friend Garmin, over 21km, I got 20.9km 3) Cheapest solution to measure distant or speed (till I get a GPS gadget) 4) It don't use GPS or internet Google will help you with more answer or just go to Apple / Nike website This post has been edited by Maxram: Sep 11 2012, 08:25 AM |
