Chipz checked in. Completed my 4th HM yesterday. 7 minutes short of my sub-2 target. Its really hard to maintain the planned speed in the beginning where there are just too many people

How do you guys started your first FM? After a certain number of HM, or do you tried those runs between HM and FM (like 30km run)?

QUOTE(266K @ Jun 25 2012, 10:11 PM) U mean start first FM? For me, I m still thinking bout it, just started entering race this year, preparation begin early this year till now can run HM sub 2 liao, last year just shiok shiok run 5-8km 3-4 time per week. When I think of commitment n discipline needed, it really turns me off. I think I could finish a FM but it sure will not be fun for me. I just want run happy.. Sorry for the typo. I was thinking to register for my first FM but Im not sure if I'm prepared for it. PR for HM is 2:07 which is still quite far from sub2. |

QUOTE(dude1218 @ Jun 26 2012, 08:49 AM) i still remember my 1st FM, that time my HM can finish around 1:58. Once i ran FM at PNM11 till 25KM my leg starting lose energy and pain make me finish in 5:39, You're great, man. I will be finishing my studies in UKM next month which means I will have no running track to practise when I get back to my hometown in ipoh.At that time i knew lack of long distance mileage, so i keep on train and able improve at PBIM11 clocked 5:18. But PBIM i need walk last 10k, due of injury and back pain. After my injury recover in Jan 2012, i start do 30km LSD with few runner from here during ENR12 able clock at 4:39 with cramp leg. Just 9min to clock 4:30, we decide do more LSD and SCKLM i able to clock 4:01. so clocking sub2 in HM dosen`t mean anything, More weekly mileage is more important. |

QUOTE(tenno @ Jun 26 2012, 10:28 PM) I think we shud have certain rules before giving out LYNR numbers. Some ppl just request & are never seen again. The admins at our Facebook page is also doing the same thing. Maybe new members must have certain number of posts before requesting LYNR number, 20 posts for example. I agree. Or maybe we should compile a list at FB that relates the nickname in LYN to that in FB so that everyone knows who is who.Pls be advised that LYNR can offer no other benefits than being part of a very enthusiastic group of runners. No discount at any store (except maybe Choi's)... no membership card, only LYNR vest... for the time being la. I dun mind giving out numbers to anybody, just that I saw our FB admin doing some filtering, I guess it's a good idea to do the same thing here. |

QUOTE(tenno @ Jun 26 2012, 10:34 PM) Yeah... tht might be a good way to start... some ppl in FB dun have LYNR number yet.... maybe we can let ppl bid for numbers... can get income to fund our activities, like our water station... hahah Then I guess its always the best to start with LYN001, this number can easily reach rocket high amount. |

Is compression wear really boost performance? How does 2XU differ from other compression brands like Nike, Reebok, etc?

I think Garmin Forerunner 610 would be a very nice one. Any place where I can get it cheap?

Do Timex Run Trainer or Nike GPS+ have the virtual racer capability? I know most Garmin watches do have.

QUOTE(tenno @ Jul 2 2012, 08:02 AM) U know wht? I've had my 410 for almost 2 yrs now but I haven't use the virtual pacer not even once... I'm really interested in 610. But its kinda expensive. The only thing that attract me is its virtual pacer which I find it very useful you wanna achieve a certain time. Meanwhile, Timex Run Trainer fits into my budget but it lacks the feature. Otherwise I'd be grabbing this one. Else, I would need to save up a bit more to get 610.I agree tht the 610 is a better option, the price Choi is offering, 2 yrs ago I bought my 410 at tht price. & the 610 is waterproof & swimmable...obviously... in terms of size, I dunno man, but I guess wht U wear will speak volumes about Ur interests.. so if ppl see U wearing a GPS watch,"this guy must be a runner..." |
