QUOTE(Maxram @ Sep 4 2012, 05:05 PM) My Question :How to train for FM, do I need to run 42.195km in LSD Now, my LSD max is 21km, which already took 2.5 hours, not sure how I can find time allocation to do full distant(estimate 5 + hours). All feedback is appreciate. If u google it, u can see Marathon training doesn't require u to run any FM distance during ur training but weekly mileage shud be preferable > 50km if possible. some training even just required 3 day run per week. QUOTE(leanman @ Sep 6 2012, 04:44 PM) LSD=Lysergic acid diethylamide, a kind of drugs... I m still confused how slow should LSD be. Say I intend to run just HM this year.or in runners term, its Long Slow Distant run. This is a run to train/build endurance, normally its ranges from 15-35 km. This run is done on a very slow pace. My best race time was about 1:46 on 19.8km Ipoh flat terrain, so far I recorded my weekly 21km LSD around 2 hr at my regular route, give n take. Is it too fast? |

QUOTE(andrewtho @ Sep 11 2012, 09:31 AM) Is it recommended to drink water halfway through your race? Like 10km, suddenly feel dehydrated then grab a water cup from the booth, will it affect your run after that? Train more, 1hr run no need water half way. Just make sure u take enuf water b4 race.U will loose few seconds if u drink water during 10k race.. |

QUOTE(Maxram @ Sep 18 2012, 09:22 AM) This is the worst I have hear so far. I guess the organizer is more concern about making $$$. Damned you Rotary Club Taiping. It could be a safety issue to runner - dehydration, not guidance or marker, medic etc 21km not so bad, she got hydration belt, so not a problem, just usual slow. Added on September 18, 2012, 9:25 am How is your run? And especially, the girl with my bib, you all ok? Sorry, passed her a lousy run. One thing, we r given timing chip but we put it in pocket, only know it din beep at check point n finishing line. Need more experience I guess. |

QUOTE(panasonic88 @ Sep 24 2012, 01:52 PM) 6 more days to my first ever HM, wooo nervous! I always thinking of overtake next dude or amoy in front of me. During race day, what are runners do/think when they are running? Planning what to eat after the run? Thinking of your partner who is still snoring in the bed? Looking around finding your friends? Doing Gangnam style? Added on September 24, 2012, 3:35 pm QUOTE(RedShirt @ Sep 24 2012, 02:54 PM) Will be missing out because of injury. what's ur injury? I oso don't know how to define injury now, got some discomfort, but still can walk pain free, run sometimes a little bit of pain, sometimes no. Just ran 10km @ 50min somemore yesterday. Just did an xray scan and doctor suggested that I rest for few weeks. Man, I was so pumped to see how well I fare in my first ever HM as well. QUOTE(Sky.Live @ Oct 4 2012, 07:58 AM) I disagree with that in certain circumstances, eg: run a marathon on threadmill, facing the wall, no music, no screen. Only bloody figure slowly clocking up to 42.195km !! Betul juga, never thought of running 4-5 hr in gym b4, need to try someday..if u can do that marathon must be feeling easy for u.. Mental is harder to train than physical think I hv never run > 2 hr in gym b4. |

QUOTE(swatch10 @ Oct 5 2012, 05:56 PM) how do u know u got, confirmed by MRI/Doc? hv u tried R.I.C.EAdded on October 5, 2012, 8:36 pm QUOTE(Raceroamer @ Oct 5 2012, 05:47 PM) If you do short run and jog in place before the actual run, won't that deteriorate your energy and stamina? Just do easy jog to warm u up, won't cost u much energy. if u don't warm up, the first 10min during race shud be used for warm up, which mean u shud not run faster than ur normal pace else u will get injure..etc.This post has been edited by 266K: Oct 5 2012, 08:36 PM |
