mine is 68XX...no sluggish issue...engine start, 1.5-1.6k rpm ady start moving slowly, pedal until 1.8-1.9k rpm car moving normal speed....as i observe myvi, vios, civic, all also at the same rpm setting when car moving...even estima tune at same rpm.....

Mine is 57XX. Yes U do feel it is a bit sluggish moving from a standing still compared to a normal torque converter AT. You can press harder on the accelerator but it won't be very smooth. It think that is simply the behaviour of the wet clutch CVT.

After using the car 2 week I simply "recalibrated" my right foot. I can now take off fairly quickly and smoothly. I haven't even done my 1st 1000km service. No ECU retune done.

So do not worry. The 1st time you encounter the "sluggishness" it might be very uncomfortable, but you will get used to it.

Regards.

Not going to talk about Vios but gonna quote an unflattering section from an automotive magazine.
What I'm saying is that don't expect certain things from the Preve - silky smooth engine or sports car like performance. Preve is not that sort of car. Don't get me wrong. Preve's athletic but if you are seriously considering this car, do it for the right reasons:

* Price - Lol .. who doesn't care about money? Preve is certainly astounding value for money.

* Size does matter. Though not a Godzilla, there's plenty of space all-round. This would make your in-laws happy.

* Comfort - It's big enough & NVH  levels are comfortable. Plenty of other creature comforts included like

  • Decent/Acceptable sound system
  • Auto climate controls for air-cond
  • Built in GPS
  • Auto headlights
  • Auto rain sensor for the wipers.
* Safety - This part is important to me. I enjoy driving as much as I enjoy continuing to live. Maybe I have grown matured enough to appreciate the lives of my loved ones. Death by accident is a terrible way to end. This car has a strong enough structure. Also has added safety features sorely missing in other more expensive models.

  • RESS
  • 4 airbags
  • ESC
  • Traction control
  • ABS
  • Electronic brake distribution
So what's the price for this car -  RM 59,540 - 72, 990 + the stigma of owning a local brand. (Have to put up with the ribbing from friends about not purchasing an imported car)  tongue.gif

I agree. Do not expect sports car like performance & handling or refinement the likes of Accord or Camry.

Manage your expectations and you will love the Preve. I know I do.

thanks bro, i will ask him to reconfirm again... otherwise i will *** him hard hard and forgo the cash discount and book directly from PE instead.

Is yours IAFM? Because CFE version is PL1CR6SDRCG00XXX. If the chassis number you gave is not for CFE then that is correct.

it can be true.. the car itself too heavy, if move it slowly, need more torque to move the car, hence cause more petrol..

but if driver faster, the momentum and inertia of the heavy car help to bring the car forward, so some petrol can be save.. thats why for highway driving, FC very good and for city driving not good...

and thats the answer why myvi and vios too light...lighter the car, less fuel consumption but safety..
*
For city stop-go driving expect 2.0L-type fuel consumption i.e around 10+L/100km. I compared my CFE Preve to my 2.0 Accord and my father's 2.0 iVTEC Accord, with me driving the same route and same style of driving.

So yeah I think stop-go driving vehicle weight plays a major part in your FC.

i have noise from center aircond vent....only today got the noise..previously dun have one...
does anyone have this problem and have been rectified by SC?

or SC still giving answer that, this is normal, every preve has this sound too...
add:
i have "teet" sound after i updated my gps with customized POI by some forumer here...is that sound supposed to be heard? or that sound is something else?
*
The "teet" sound is the POI warning. If you disable the POI warning you will disable the "teet" sound. But you will also disable the popup that warns of speed traps.

Preve spark plug is Iridium plugs. So i expect them to 'clean' it from carbon at 10k and replace it at 20k.

Without cleaning the plugs, carbon on the tip of the plugs will effect the performance. Right?
*
If you look at our Service Booklet for CFE, Spark Plug change is at 60,000 km, Air Filter Change is at 60,000 km also.

CVT oil (Esso, NOT ATF or Dexron-type fluid) and CVT oil filter at 60,000 km also.

Seems at 60,000 km will have MAJOR service and MAJOR price.

walao.. the pravia thread is running so fast...

gathering for protong bashers are there.. lol

While they are busy bashing, I'm happily driving my Preve.

Got problem? What problem?

They don't want to buy Proton, let them. They feel other brands better, let them buy.

While I'm happily driving my Preve.

10W40 would be good enuf.

Edit: maybe he is high mileage driver

I think 15W50 is too thick. If high mileage, Syntium 3000 5W40 is also very good. Look at both 15W50 & 5W40 Product Data Sheet.

Both are ACEA A3 (HTHS >= 3.5: meaning good protection at high temp and high shear situations such as found in the CFE's turbine). Both are rated for VW502.00 & VW505.00 (generally means you can go for 10,000 km oil change. Therefore protection wise Syntium 1000 15W50 & Syntium 3000 5W40 are similiar.

But 5W40 being a lower viscosity oil would mean better protection at startup (5W part) and slightly better FC (40 part).

Personally I am using Syntium 5000 0W30 (ACEA A1/A5) rated. It can last 10,000 km but protection not as good as ACEA A3 rated oil. Next service at 10,000 km I am thinking to change to Syntium 5000 0W40 (ACEA A3 rated).

Edit: One cons of using 5W40 is that I believe it is slightly more expensive than 15W50

I tell you, these jokers at COE....

1st mistake - tell them I want 10w-40 fully syn, but service slip there tick "semi-syn", I spot it and tell them to correct it.

2nd mistake - my car 10k service, at the receipt there written 32,000km  shocking.gif tell them to correct, waited another extra 15 minutes.

3rd mistake - 10w-40 my foot!!!!!!!

I think the only 10W40 Syntium is Syntium 800. It is semi-synthetic.

Full Syn 40 weight oil is Syntium 3000 5W40
