QUOTE(K2002 @ Jun 29 2012, 12:49 AM)
This is very good suggestion.
that is how to minimize brake same like my style i always try to leave at least 4 to 5 car away. when see in front most of the car going to stop no more press accelerator. those that need fast let them over take you or you can go to third lane.
then by the time everyone stop your car slowly getting near to the stopping point just press one or two time brake...instead of follow people very near...and press more than 10 brakes before reaching to a fully stopping jam area. amount of time brake and how long the brake engage with the disc....and make sure press few seconds before fully release...if you drive fast...need to press brake longer time...or jam brake until the ABS activated...then the brake dust will be alot.

slowly get use to it...unless really emergency then only press more brake. our brake is one of the fastest braking speed. four big disc sure will grind more dust.
*
I don't know why some people consider brake dust a "problem"? rclxub.gif
Even if this is their first car, they should also seen a lot of this "problem" on the road, be it imported or local cars. sweat.gif

go above 110 and see you can hear any noise from the rear window or not.
*

When I go above 110km/h, I heard a loud tyre noise instead of wind noise... laugh.gif

QUOTE(BartS @ Jul 1 2012, 09:32 PM)
A bit off-topic. Who finds the Preve really tall? When driving, you noticed drivers of other cars to be shorter. Feels likes you're on a MPV. For me, that's kinda good. smile.gif

Yes, I noticed it since test drive the car. nod.gif

QUOTE(Gigabit @ Jul 1 2012, 10:17 PM)
With the size of preve, side parking may not be advisable.
*

I especially find the convex type of side mirrors (both left and right) really helps in parking. rclxms.gif

*
Hi all, I was wonder what is the side effect if the error code resides there without erased? Will it affect our car or engine's normal operation behavior? hmm.gif

Another question:
Sometimes, I doubt if my turbo unit is working or not... hmm.gif

In earlier versions of Preve threads I see people said they feel the turbo kicks in and some said they heard the sound when turbo is activated etc... but how come I never feel anything? No feeling, no hearing... cry.gif

I may know if my turbo unit is working then one day is stop working so the car is underpower. But if my turbo unit not working since day one, how to tell the different? hmm.gif

laugh.gif Maybe I didn't notice the sound was too soft, but at least my expectation was, it will pull the car hard and our back sticks to the seat... blush.gif

In fact, this effect only happens when I start from still where rpm below 2000.

*
WhitE LighteR, can describe in which condition you can hear this?
Wind down the window? Can hear it as long as rpm hit 2000-2200?
Can I hear it if we rev the engine in N gear?

OMG!!! ohmy.gif
Luckily not RM2000, hahaha!
Anyone kena summon when they speeding at night? I mean, night time less speed trap right?

My theory is, if after u have driven the car fast enuff, u`ll hear the cooling fan spinning is evident enuff that ur turbo working.. IMHO laa.Hehe
[cool.gif
ROFL.. U make it sounded like the car has NOS installed..
Ouch..As they said, "With power, comes great responsibility"
I think what this phrase means is, with our car's power, whatever summons we get we'll be rresponsible to it..
Or did I messed up the meaning? tongue.gif

That's another school of thought bro. I prefer the thing done before 1k service. Ran my car 160-170 during my car only 1-2 weeks old.
That's the discounted price edy bro. The later u settle it u'll need to pay more than that.Unless any State Chief Police is ur uncle..
Agreed that better spend it on the fuel.Huhu
Nice advise there bro..Hehehe

It really takes time to learn the sound... tongue.gif

Thanks WhitE LighteR, I think I heard this high-pitch sound even inside the car, I thought that was CVT's sound. sweat.gif

QUOTE(bornd @ Jul 3 2012, 09:32 PM)
I just only can test up to 150km/h as always blocked by car coming from UPM junction to highway.

What is different in "S" mode and SAT mode?
I found that SAT mode giving more power, and can feel it when the gear changed.
*
Ya ler...! When I was speeding happily at right lane for just a few seconds, always got car potong out from left lane, some even without using indicator light, just come out and crawling! shakehead.gif

Do you mean SAT mode in Exora Bold? Preve got SAT mode?

I got a strange experience with Preve's S mode. I can see the rpm go higher, but can't really feel the pulling power. Maybe I should step the pedal to the floor to experience the power of S mode?

__________________________________________________________________________________

Last few days when I want to do reverse parking, before the car completely stop, I accidentally shift to [R] but the car still gliding forward without engaging reverse gear, I'm shocked and immediately shift back to [N] and press the brake harder. I think this feature is protecting the gearbox. Anyone willing to try this purposely with higher speed? tongue.gif

blink.gif high pitch sound? either my ear is something wrong or yours is. to me this sounds more like air being force into a small hole kind of sound (which is what turbo is actually)
*
Hi WhitE LighteR, sorry for my stupidity and thank you for your patient! notworthy.gif
I mean high-pitch like high "frequency" whistle sound, something you can hear from the clip below at this playback time? When driving at the right speed, will hear softly the "feeeeee..........." sound even inside the car right?

If not right again, then I better ask them to check my turbo unit in my next service. laugh.gif

yes.. its the "feeeeee" sound

you can activate it by pressing hard on the accelerator. i dont think its speed or rpm dependent because it has an electronic wastegate controller.
*
Thanks WhitE LighteR, I will try to locate the sound tomorrow. Probably test it at [N] gear position first.

The reason I asked all these are because as mentioned, last weekend was my first time took the car on long highway (North South Expressway) and say like, for example, when press hard, from 100km/h to 140km/h, I can't feel the "thrust" compare to my Persona (with catcon removed). I understand it could be CVT vs. AT, but I'm just worrying if something not function properly and I still don't know about it.

Also, I still in love with [D] mode, haven't really have the chance to test or "utilize" the [S] mode. A short test of my [S] mode just can see higher rpm, but still no "g-force" feeling. But honestly, I did not floor the pedal during [S] mode lar... sweat.gif

Due to my own safety, I decided to find out if I can fix it myself. I removed the control button panel, only found out the socket very loose and dropped out. At that time I'm sure the mirror adjust buttons should not work as well, but I never thought of testing it, because the whole socket was come loose.

So why it come loose so easily?

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Although I never removed the entire door trim panel, but with this experience, I think why for some car, sometimes the rear door can't be unlock, I have the reason to believe that could be also the loosing socket issue, anyway, I could be wrong!

*
That's because you Stopped the engine with the gear at [N] position?
You should shut off engine at [P] position so that it cut off everything. smile.gif

Added on July 13, 2012, 2:25 amThere's absolutely no need for the adapter. There's no original wire to be touched, you only add new wires to the existing socket.

Wah Penang good market lah I want to open a branch there already!!

CORRECTION:
Certainly, different story if you are using a different HU. I made an assumption that you did the camera without changing the HU. My mistake.  tongue.gif

LOL.... laugh.gif No lar.... I said "optional" mean he offer and I agreed, because he knows me, I always looking for better HU for sound quality, so this is prepared for future use. tongue.gif

Yes, I'm using original HU, just don't want to temper with the "socket" (my mistake for saying "wires"), try to keep everything reversible. smile.gif

Yes, please come open a shop in Penang. icon_rolleyes.gif I think many quality service offer by EA were hard to find here in Penang. I mean professionally done service. Some shop in Penang that I know don't offer such kind of mod or service, or not done professionally like EA does. shakehead.gif
