Try to run your car and press full oil pedal until 200KM/J in the highway.

So sorry guys but I simply have to say this => doh.gif
Break in the ENGINE not break the CAR lah. Not much to be gained risking an accident in the process.

To do that, kaw kaw rev the engine whilst in 'N' mode sudah cukup lah.

Speaking of Red..

Just now around 6.30pm, my Silver Bullet cucuk one Red Ferrari on 'S" mode on kerinchi highway to Mount Kiara Plaza turnoff. At that time, there were not many cars on the road. Both of us are on the fast lane. Everytime, the car in front of the ferrari move to the left, both of us will tekan kaw kaw. This happened about 4 times. Everytime, when the ferarri tekan, fuyoh.. shocking.gif you can imagine the loudness of the ferrari exhaust sound. I can hardly hear my car engine sound..Should have installed the on board camera and let you guys hear the fantastic ferrari exhaust sound when tekan kaw kaw. A very rare experience indeed.   tongue.gif

What is the L/100km and your average speed displayed on your meter?

what is your city and highway driving percentage?
*
90-95% city/housing area driving, highway here arent considered highway anyway, u can only cruise for 2-3mins then u will hit a roundabout or traffic light heavy traffic. L/100km showing like 10-11L/100km, but i didnt reset it since last 1-2 fuel ups..

Perfect example of listening from others too much rather than using own instinct;

Bought the car and regret it even before he steps into the car for the first time,

Now that's news. Always good to learn something new. I however stick with my earlier opinion that it's highly inadvisable to tempt fate at 200 km/h.

There are 2 school of thoughts. One school subscribes to such > http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

While Proton the manufacturer, prescribes that one should not drive above 120 km/h till at least past the first service.

I went outstation today and was in the car for most parts of the day. IMHO, the tint worked well at keeping the heat out. My old Wira which had el-cheapo tint all round, feels like a furnace compared to the Preve. For example, in the Wira where the driver's right hand is close to the window, you can feel the sun burning onto your skin. Barely felt anything with the Preve's tint.

the moment you start the engine, it is already "breaking in", only it is very very slow. Normally, breaking in has two different approach, one is soft and another is hard. Soft break in involves driving slowly (usually for the first 1,000km) at speed not exceeding 110-120kmh. Hard break in is the complete opposite of soft break in, usually stretches the car to its upmost limit for hardcore drivers. Both has its pros and cons.

However, both types of break in shares a same basic rule: Do not let the engine to stay on a specific rpm for too long. This is especially important for those taking their new car for a leisurely drive/outstation trip. It is important to vary the engine rpm throughout the entire journey.

How to break in? Just drive. To go below (soft break in) or beyond (hard break in) 120kph, that's your choice.

Something worthy of note. When I collected my vehicle late yesterday evening. Being quite dark, I didn't pay much attention to a piece of paper dangling from my rear view mirror. Didn't notice it till this morning.

Btw, my chassis is 82**. Sluggishness seems minimal and the car was quite responsive to the throttle input.

main concern for most car owners is #3 and #4 only.

Your car is sitting at the stockyard for about a week after assembly while awaiting to be transported. Therefore, it is safe to wind down your windows. Just dont turn on teh demister.

simple word..'Lenjan' your engine to the max..

break in to keep our engine at the best performance, overlasting..and the engine very smooth to accelerate our desired speed..

give u example:
1. a new 100cc cub chai = once get the car, no break in, just drive like others cub... one day the rider ask why his cub only can go max 110kmh?

2. a new 100cc cub chai, same model with no.1 = 1st 1000km he control the speed below 80kmh..after 1st service, he do proper break in, and he realized that his engine very smooth and easy to get 135kmh even a standard 100cc cubchai...

for a car, by break in the engine, we allow and give A STEP TO STEP EXPERIENCE to the piston and engine to achieve maximum speed.. i dont say go for maximum 200kmh.. if got chance to get 160kmh for few minutes ok already..then slowly reduce the speed constantly...

maybe..one day someone claim he got maximum 240kmh with standard preve.. and when we ask them, they will said they do proper break in when their engine still virgin.. rclxms.gif

p/s : i can give u 18SX example for better understanding, but im respect silent reader here, maybe women, girl, is reading and learning how to be Turbowoman..ohhhh..hoho thumbup.gif
