Hey guys, do you all still experience center dashboard vibration when accelerate hard from standstill. Mine still hane this problem even I went to SC that day and apparemtly they didn't get it fix and ignore it.
*
Short of reworking of the engine mounts, I don't think this 'low rpm drone' is fixable.

So true. thumbup.gif

I think Preve serves us better as a refined cruiser than a racer. Don't like the harshness when I push the engine hard.

If it's a Preve, go to Shah Alam. If they say one month, wait one month la. What to do?

Alternately, you can also message FenomX. He has experience with this.

Its a preve. Problem is the shah alam sa din even c the car n straight tell my dad if wan do wait 1 month. Car not even 1 month old. Zzzzz
*
It is quite possible that the bulk of the wait would be with the application for the insurance claim, adjuster's review and approval of the claimed sum. Hence without looking, no matter how minor the damage, they will advise a month's wait.

QUOTE(acidz @ Jul 6 2012, 02:43 PM)
after 1k service, the SA told me that the next service is due on 5950km
if I skip this, then the 'warranty' will be void. Free labour service covers 1k, 5k, and 10k service. then next service 15k,20k,25k ... every 5k interval.

then i called Proton i-Care to confirm, and they gave me different answer. as per i-Care, the service interval for Preve CFE is every 10k.
And again, free labour service covers 1k, 10k, and 20k.
you can refer to Proton-Edar website.
http://www.proton-edar.com.my/pdf/procareP...A)Preve_CFE.pdf
Which one should we follow?
*
QUOTE(Saya_Dhuang @ Jul 6 2012, 02:55 PM)
I think the more appropriate Q should be: "How to determine our car falls under 'Normal' Service Schedule or 'Severe' Service Schedule" since for Preve they have both space printed in the service booklet
*
Please refer to page 12 of your service booklet where it mentions ...

Severe operating conditions include but are not limited to the following cases: ...

7. More than 50% of operation time in heavy city traffic in hot temperature of 32C (89.6F) or higher.

9. Operation in extremely hot weather condition.

That kinda defines almost every car in Malaysia tongue.gif

*
Beep is from HU telling/warning you that you're approaching a POI. Can be disabled but that sort of defeats the purpose of having user POIs.

guy..yesterday i screwed up my Yes Huddle, when the first time connect via wifi, i have no problem..then i go into the 192.168.1.1 portal, then in in the basic setup, i go put another new yes account ID and password..now can't used already....can someone help?..how do i reset it?
*
Can restore to factory settings from the 192.168.1.1 webpage.

QUOTE
Push the on button for 30-40 sec until the 4g light blink in Amber. That'll reset ur YES Huddle. Go in 192.168.1.1 again to set the password. If not ur YES Huddle will be an open network..

LOL .. that's what happened to me by accident. I tried sticking the Huddle into a pouch and the button must have got pressed. Later when I was using my phone, I was wondering which 'idiot' left a Yes wifi network opened. blush.gif

Even my 9 year old daughter who sits at the back tells me that my car doesn't fly anymore after changing owv. Unless I use S mode. D mode will lose to all cars I annoyed before fixing owv issue.  doh.gif
Sounds as though it's tuned to be less responsive and hence slower. Maybe, that's how they achieved better FC.

Most preve owner complaining the HIGH FC on this car.
*

High FC as compared to which other car? Surely they don't mean to compare Preve to Viva? Can't expect to move such a large & heavy car around without incurring some FC. It's only low FC when cruising on highway. Those who worry about fuel consumption may be better off buying a smaller car or a hybrid unit.

make me scared on hearing the all sort of problem on the preve.
The OWV sound like a serious engine problem, why they don't detect during testing?
IMHO, the OWV issue is overblowned. Nowadays, some will even blame wind noise on it doh.gif

As for the overcranking, I'm not even certain if OWV is the cause. Some people already have their OWV replaced & yet the overcrank issue returned. I'm not a automotive engineer. What I next say is just my 2 cents. I have thus far only experienced overcrank on 2 occasions. Both times, the weather was cold and upon starting the engine, the built-in automatic choke revved the engine to quite a high rpm. I am thinking if the revs are high enough, the starter pinion might have not time to retract & avoid getting caught by the flywheel. Hence, the 'klak klak' overcrank sound we hear.

@Dark Adam, I'm assuming your issue with the engine isn't resolved yet. Like to ask .. when each time it happens, was the engine very hot?

Was reading Exora thread at Autoworld forum and you may find the info pertinent > http://forum.autoworld.com.my/index.php?sh...3&#entry1827703

If you're planning to get the CFE and if you don't mind waiting a bit more, I would advise you to momentarily delay the purchase.

Don't get me wrong. I'm an owner and I think this is a great car and a kickass purchase .... but owv is not the major issue at hand. IMHO, what's more worrying are cases like Dark_Adam's where brand new Preve/Exora CFE engines 'mati tengah jalan'.

Did you note the rpm on your tachometer when the overcrank occured? Was it high or was it low like under 1000 rpm?

Eh, wasn't it marverickng that just experience an overcrank in the afternoon? Anyway, thanks for letting me know your tachometer speed. The 2 times I had overcrank, the automatic choke revved to around 3K too. Seems a bit too high for me. Now if Proton wants to fix this, a relatively reprogram of the choke will fix this. No need for a 3N2D stay at SC to disassemble engine head.

Thanks for sharing. Everybody else, the next time you experience overcrank, please post back to tell what rev your tachometer is showing. If everyone is having an overly high rev, we can all go complain to Proton so that a re-program can be implemented.

My overcrank is getting more by the day, initial only morning, now after 1.5-2.0 hours stop, the overcrank sound will be there n worst is the overcrank sound is getting louder by the day, but luckily no oil leaking, still waing for the owv to arrive. My rpm surprising quiet normal, around 0.8-0.9k rpm

Think your case may be different from the majority. Your's could truly be an OVW issue. Have a listen to these 2 sounds from youtube

Which sounds more like yours?

I know it is wrong to make a comparison with this.
IMHO, this Campro CFE is suppose to make an additional power with relatively good FC.
But when Preve owner list down their FC, like 10-15L/100Km, it is not really good.

Almost the same FC like W211 E240, 2600cc engine, a V6 engine btw.
Then, it same FC with 525 BMW, 2.5L engien, not sure V6 or not.

When compare to 1.8 kompressor w211, even the kompressor had a better FC.
Not yet compare with turbo engine like golf GTI, or the puegeot 308 engine.

BTW, 308 engine is THP, Turbo High Pressure, make a more power, BUT, the FC is better than CFE.

NOT flaming other users, but Proton should make a CFE including with VVT both inlet n outlet and direct injection to reduce FC cool2.gif
*
When doing the comparison, are the FC for the cars you mentioned real life results for the cars in KL traffic? Or are they just published results from the manufacturers? Do bear in mind that Preve CFE's published FC of 6.6 L/100km is achievable but nobody will drive like that in real life.

once u put the key into the slot, no light will on and u just simply push the break and start button, is it? I did it just like that. It just in the manual book had mentioned something about orange and green lite on the 'start/stop button'. So i just curious why there is no lite appear at all in any condition of the gear.. huhu
One more thing, sometimes when i insert the key, something like "remove the key" appeared? is it normal also? because i thought i might related to the start button. so far, no prob to start the car..  biggrin.gif
*
The orange light will be seen when you press the Start/Stop button without depressing the brake pedal. Orange indicates you have entered the "Acc" mode.

When you see orange, step on the brake and you shall see it turn to green. The color green indicates the car is ready for cranking.

"remove the key" appears because door is opened.

I was re-reading the manual and came across this interesting tidbit. Once the car is in motion, even if you accidentally press the Start/Stop button momentarily, the engine won't get switched off.

In the event of a real emergency where we really need to stop the engine even when the car is in motion, you can do any of the following:
  • press and hold the Start/Stop button for 5 seconds
  • Press and release Start/Stop button 5 times in a row.
  • Rip out the ECU with your bare hands. j/k

U can survey in their car forum also fyi.

the FC is from the dashboard Fc indicator

Apologies but please don't take this the wrong way but I'm not about to google for the info. If you have links, that may be helpful. Cars like Mercs, BMW or even the Golf GTI aren't currently within my scope to purchase. They may or may not be frugal in fuel consumption but the price of buying/maintaining such technological wonders, offsets any fuel savings.

I'm not here to defend nor attack Proton or any other car make. In the interest of the majority of this thread's readers, I think we should compare Preve with a car like the Civic where kerb weight, power/torque figures are closer. Looking at the figures from http://www.fuelly.com

http://www.fuelly.com/car/proton/preve vs http://www.fuelly.com/car/honda/civic

Civic's average of 7.2 easily beats Preve's 9.6

I won't say this unit is from Brothers is no good but from other parts of lyn forum, there's been many discussions of cheap imitation/inferior VS. I'm gonna have mine installed by this guy > http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1289791 . He gets a lot of good testimonials from clients. For the benefit of the others, after install && if you're willing, we can meet up and compare.
