Actually, it's best for it to unfold immediately when reverse gear is engaged. Alternately, rather than wait till 5 km/h, wait for 5 seconds to unfold.

Edit:
I changed my mind. Best to unfold whenever any gear is engaged. That's a good enough indication that the car is about to move off.

until now also i dont dare to side parking... not until got three bays side parking is empty then only attempt...also too worry if the other car park at the back of you too near is very hard to maneuver with such a huge butt and long wheelbase.
*
Lol .. the first time I had to reverse, I was panicky. I turned around and found my view blocked by 2 large C pillars. The 2 rear headrests didn't help. Now a bit better but having a reverse camera will really help.

A bit off-topic. Who finds the Preve really tall? When driving, you noticed drivers of other cars to be shorter. Feels likes you're on a MPV. For me, that's kinda good. smile.gif

sometimes we might park in a very tight parking lot. If it auto unfold, afraid our side mirror will hit on others car.
*
Mirror is only a few inches wide. I'm trying to imagine how close the other car must be. If anyone parked this close to my car, I will be leave a note on his windshield .. . "Next time, please leave a #@* can opener so that I can get my car out." laugh.gif

I just back from Seremban to KL, a tired journey. My car had utilized 300KM after full tank refill last friday night. Latest remaining KM now was 286KM to go before the fuel tank empty. Latest fuel consumption show in ODO was 8.9L/100 KM Average 39KM.
*
Those are good figures. What was your speed on the highway?

I was thinking that you were only doing 80-120. So those are very good figures. What exactly did the SC do?

About the fuel consumption tuning, i have no ideas what they had tune. But told by the service centre, the car will be good fuel efficiency in the highway drive and fuel consumption in the heavy traffic jam,and normal to all car during traffic jam.
*
They sounded so confident. Am wondering if you're the recipient of the new mapping.

*
Maybe Preve just not suitable for you. For me, I am quite content with my purchase.

... cars steering shaking while braking hard at very high speed like 130km/h? my car has this problem. how to solve it?
*
Should be ABS at work. Brake calipers are clamping/unclamping hard in rapid successions. Sure to have a heavy shudder.

QUOTE(Chong_84 @ Jul 2 2012, 09:17 AM)
Initially I wanted the white color, then after only realized its not metallic paint. So after some deep thought and discussion with my wife, we change d color from solid white to genetic silver.

Any comment?
*
Being the owner of silver unit, I think that's a good choice. Have you seen Elegant Brown yet?

QUOTE(GoldenHawk @ Jul 2 2012, 09:27 AM)
ABS? hmm.gif
On the topic of breaking, has anyone tried breaking hard @ speeds of, say, 80KM/H? Apart from the lack of break feedback & slow stopping, I hear a "gruuk" sound just before it stops. Sounds like bad break-pads, but I just wanted to know if anyone else experienced similar symptoms. Is it just mine? unsure.gif
*
Should be ABS again. If it's bad or irregular pads, you should hear it all the time and not just higher speeds. This car is heavy, takes a lot more to stop it.

A bit more about hard braking. Let's not forget that our cars have Brake Assist.

You may feel you haven't stomped that hard on the brake pedal but in reality, it could be Brake Assist at work.

Not so sure about 'aircon glook glook sound'. Haven't encountered it yet.

my frd told me to wait for the FL executive variant.. he said it might come with ESC.. seriously? anyone heard of this news?

Who's your friend? Is he a friend of a friend who met a new friend at mamak store, who's Uncle's distant cousin works for Proton? biggrin.gif

This is just my personal opinion but put yourself in Proton's shoes. The car is selling well and they have trouble fulfilling/meeting current orders and ironing out the bugs. Is another vendor set to release a model that's a threat? Is this a opportunistic time to release another variant? Or should they wait for the market quiet down again and introduce a new variant to spice things up. Sooner or later, it may come. Depend on how long can you tahan waiting?

Thanks for replying. I kinda guessed it was Silver; it appears to be the color of the moment. Prior to this, everyone who booked Silver was cursing and swearing. Think everyone got their cars already.

The more that's on the road, the more the general public's interest gets perked. IMHO, there should be an upswing of bookings. Major huddle for many would be getting the finance.

I got a strange experience with Preve's S mode. I can see the rpm go higher, but can't really feel the pulling power. Maybe I should step the pedal to the floor to experience the power of S mode?
*
S mode allows the engine revs to go higher. You're not going to feel it unless you floor it. Definitely gonna feel more pull than 'D' mode.

but the rain sensor doesn't on the wiper
any idea? and the ESC button tekan like no respond one?
*
Did you have your wiper set to 'Auto'? Refer to page 74 of your manual

Btw, keep your finger on the ESC button for more than 3 seconds to DISABLE it. I don't think you want that for a rainy day.

I think they should recall all Preve, save me the trouble of taking leave to send to SC to fix all the MINOR problems.
*
Not sure you'll really want that. To fix just one car's one way valve issue takes 3 days. Let's say they have already delivered 8000+ units to customers. Recall all 8000 of them. If all 8000 has OWV issue, then that's 8000 x 3 days = 24000 days. Bear in mind that this is only one issue.

Each Service Centre has limited skilled staff for such work. So progress will be slow. Furthermore, each SC has limited car bays for such repairs. Each can only handle 'x' number of cars daily. That's even more delay. Preve is a new release. I don't think they could have forseen everything. The earlier units will have more bugs. So, those owners are the white mice (guinea pigs). Later releases should have less. Mine is 82xx; so far, so good. Then again, I don't spend that much time nitpicking the car.
