In truth, all lubes, mineral, semi and fs have a garanteed 5K life for its addictives. After 5K, its up you. Most ppl say can use up to 10K in order to justify the much higher cost of using FS. With our dusty, hot and humid weather along with our road and traffic conditions, at most FS can withstand is abt 6-7K mileage. Addictives would have been mostly worn by then.

Overseas, some can go much longer due to one of the reason

1. Using specific HIGH MILEAGE FS. (These FS were designed to go for high mileage unlike normal FS).
2. Bigger CC car with much better filteration system. Bigger lube tanks do makes a difference in how long we use the lube but that have to coupled with corresponding higher quality filteration system. Thus those luxury bigger cc cars might be able to go up to 10K for FS. Not our medium and small sedan.

IMO, I would never exceed 6K at most for FS. Yes you can still use it but after years only you can see the damage, etc. miniscule damage to bore wall, sludge buildup, rust, etc. That happens when addictives worn out. Even manufacturers makes mistakes sometimes in recommending longer usage as had happened even to some luxury brands (Japan) in US. After a couple of years, sludge buildup cause a major headache and company have to backtrack and shorten the service interval.

Do note our standard size oil filter if clog up will allow bypass, that means no filteration after that, everything goes thus our engine can still work even if filter clog up after 5K mileage.

Question is do you want to change lube BEFORE addictives and protection wear out or AFTER it wear out. Once addictives start to wear, protection and lubrication will be greatly reduce, after that only you change.....you can imagine the damage buildup if you intend to keep your car for long. I prefer to change at 5-6K interval for FS BEFORE addictives start to greatly wear out. If any of you mentioned its too expensive to do that.....by all means change to semi or mineral and service every 5K, your engine will be cleaner than using FS for 10K, trust me on that.

today i send my car for 1st service..
my problems
1) overcranking twice within last week-suspected owv,if confirm,they'll order the owv and change it on another appointment
2)sound from left rear suspension/tyre when cornering/bumper-was told due to not properly tighten dog bone,already tighten
3)loose sd card lid-changed to new 1
4)front left speaker sound macam pecah-due to vibrating parts of left door upholstry
5)wind noise left c-pillar-was told due to gap somewhere in the front, will need some glueing,they'll do it
6)tyre misaligned to the left-have to do outside tyre shop
7)exhaust tilted to right-might need some hammering/can leave as it is
8)hu bluetooth microphone cant really hear-this 1 i forgot to highlight

for now,my car still in sc,they'll confirm the owv tomorrow..if can will return the car tomorrow..if not then monday la...

regarding the owv,actually, before the SA deliver my car, we also heard the overcranking during inspection..the SA even send back to SC to double confirm if it was owv,they said it's normal la during cold start..now they said almost confirm owv plak..

will update what really improved later on..
btw,my CN is 6XXX..FC is good enuf,i can even achieve 6.2L/100km highway

1) there are some rattling sound on the driver door panel. Are they able to solve it?
2) GPS on preve cfe. Any updates? I can't enter coordinate. And there's a lot of road which are unavailable.
3) the double din touch screen Memang cannot play DVD?
4) boot lid self open. DIY or send it to proton.
5) fan doesn't ON even at 1/2 temperature unless AC ON
6) noisy radio. Other media ok.
7) over cranking sometimes during start up.
8) blinking LCD display. Any fixing???

7. More than 50% of operation time in heavy city traffic in hot temperature of 32C (89.6F) or higher.

9. Operation in extremely hot weather condition.


That kinda defines almost every car in Malaysia 
Beep is from HU telling/warning you that you're approaching a POI. Can be disabled but that sort of defeats the purpose of having user POIs.

i have no doubt about if good and why manufacturer doesnt seem like to install it. well from my point of over this issue. i believe accessories does help on on certain things inside the car. but sometimes car;s manufacturer will just meet the minimum requirement of the whole finished product and delivered what a car manufacturer are required to built in the minimum requirements for certain country import rules. so others than those extra which is not listed are consider a bonus and a more reliable features that their customer prefer.

in the another hand. those accessories aint perfect things. it will only helps out one certain process which certain improvement. its certain improvement we are talking about and not totally resolved the problem.

so its very subjective for individual to determine the improvement as well. just for an example again. lots of ppl wanna reduce 100% outside noise, but those rubber i installed might only can give the result of 50-60%. some like me can accept the result but might be many more think that this is waste of time effort which can not resolve the problem they want.

then again as well.. many more here complain the weird wind noise. the pallar C noise. seriously.... i never meet those sound before in my car until i test drove kiapreve and Maverickng preve. why? because i knew there is this noice appearing and i never even bother to wait for proton rectified it. second day of the car i get. i did the rubber thingy.

because i cant afford to skip a day of work just to go SC and ask them to rectify and later they order the parts and i have to drop by the SC  again to fix it. thats hassel for me.
