Maybe Mods should do something about guiding people to read pinned/sticky threads before posting new thread.

my body type is ectomorph with 5 feet 9 inch and 57kg. very skinny.
i plan to reach 70kg weight by lifting and high protein diet. but i wonder, will i lose back if i reduce my lifting workout and eat just normal 3 meals instead of 5-6 meals per day ? in another words, will i stay on at 70kg if i stop working out and eating 3-4 meals per day ? |

Provided those 3 meals equate to the same calories you were eating at those 5 - 6meals AND you continue lifting, no you won't lose.i plan to reach 70kg weight by lifting and high protein diet. but i wonder, will i lose back if i reduce my lifting workout and eat just normal 3 meals instead of 5-6 meals per day ? in another words, will i stay on at 70kg if i stop working out and eating 3-4 meals per day ? IF you stop working out, that's a different story. Muscle adaptation is there because, well, because there is the need to adapt, in terms of bodybuilding, you are capable of x weight and you lift y weight, your body adapts to lift y weight, that's the most basic way of explaining muscle building. Since you stop lifting which means you take away the need to adapt and the functionality of your gains, I suppose you'd eventually hit some form of atrophy. |

QUOTE(danny200 @ Jun 9 2013, 08:27 PM) thanks for your info. i appreciate. In some countries it's a lifestyle and not seen as an option. In Malaysia where more than 50pct of the population is overweight and is the leading nation for diabetes in the SEA region, it's seen as a chore or a health fad.so it seems no point for me to invest at gym membership, hours of working out and spending on food, if it dont give me a permanent result. for my ectomorph body type, i will definitely grow back to skinny if i stop lifting and eating a lot. if only there is a way to reduce my high metabolism.... Bodybuilding is a lifestyle, not just some hobby that you'll forget when you get uninterested with it later. |

If you treat it like a hobby, just like what I've said earlier, hobby is something that is easily forgotten when ever you feel like not doing it. When you feel tired, you are going to choose for sleep rather than doing your hobby. But if it is a lifestyle, you'll treat it differently. How tired you are working your day's job, you'll still gonna do bodybuilding because it is your lifestyle. Would you skip a dinner if you are tired? Of course no right? Same is bb as a lifestyle. If you miss it, you'll gonna feel bad. If it's a hobby, meh never mind we can do it tomorrow and few weeks later, you'll never gonna do it. Trust me. |
