I think certain MacBooks have been updated with the latest processors, hence the bump in prices. But upon checking back on Apple online, yes, there seems to be a blanket increase on Macs and iPads after last night's event.

iPhones, Apple Watch Series 3 and AirPods - Price adjusted down
iPads, Macs and iPods - Price up slightly

Thank you so much for your informations! So at least now I know it might be because of the latest processors and because of the last night’s event. Tysm! 😊🙏🏻

Yeah, the bump in processors is for the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar range: -

Was

13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar: 3.1GHz dual-core i5, 256GB
13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar: 3.1GHz dual-core i5, 512GB
15-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar: 2.8GHz quad-core i7, 256GB
15-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar: 2.9GHz quad-core i7, 512GB

Is

(New)13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar and TouchID: 2.3GHz quad-core i5, 256GB
(New)13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar and TouchID: 2.3GHz quad-core i5, 512GB
(New)15-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar and TouchID: 2.2GHz 6-core i7, 256GB
(New)15-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar and TouchID: 2.6GHz 6-core i7, 512GB

It now has Touch ID too smile.gif

I've been tracking the prices here so if any of you notice anything amiss from my list, PM me and I'll update it accordingly ya.

Ahh, I see. I suppose they could have updated the specs earlier but I missed it and only updated the prices after yesterday's announcement.

Thanks too for the heads-up.

Very expensive. Have you considered if it might be cheaper to get from Singapore or something? (But then again MYR vs SGD is also crap now)

Np! smile.gif

I’m living in Negeri Sembilan so including the travelling cost and currency might be not too much of differences to buy directly from Malaysia’s Apple store? Too hassle to get from Singapore too 😭 thank you for the suggestion tho!

Definitely the batts needs to be changed around the 4 years mark. My 2014 model battery health (4 y.o) is at 75% with around 900 cycles. It depends on the software and the MacOs. When apple dont support the hardware, then its time for a change. I paid RM4800 for my rmbp back in 2014. If I can get full 5 years usage, I am very happy oledi.

Hopefully my rMBP also last long long biggrin.gif

Bought mine in 2015 before GST, about RM3.8K, changed the LCD twice due to "Staingate" and repaired a blown speaker before. Other than that, still working fine nod.gif

Since they ship in from Singapore, did you pay any duty taxes?

You don’t have to worry about import duties or taxes , it’s all covered by Apple with the amount you have paid

My MacBook ordered from Apple.com just arrived, and I noticed two scratches on the top lid of the MacBook right out of the box sad.gif( I contacted Apple support and they said will call me. But until now still no calls yet. What should I do? Will the Apple authorised resellers do a replacement for me instead?

Hi all, i ordered customized m1 mbp from apple MY website on 24th Jan 2021. Now already 28th Jan and they are still posting it at the website as "processing". Is this a normal working timeframe during pandemic or is it quite late and I gotta give them a call? The eta date is 8th /16th February 2021 tho.

Not sure if this meaning of store is the same meaning of a physical store but hey, it looks like we have some hope now!

Apple may open a physical outlet in MY soon
