Recently i buy ipad refubrish from UK they don't send to Malaysia. so i use VPOST Malaysia as shipment forwarding.
the item arrive to sg safe, and then vpost send the item to me from SG>MY suddenly kastam block my item and ask for tax payment?
as i know malaysia Dun have tax on electronic device like iPhone and ipad? anyone know what happens here?
or kastam wan eat my money XD

try check the code from malaysia postal site, if they are using poslaju try check pos laju
sometimes the internation site doent update the status correctly

Item have value more than RM500 can easily detain by them. Even that item get for free but the value state more than RM500. Real item value normally needed if the courier have insurance.

I think the iPad he buy is lower than rm500 inc shipping. Correct me if I am wrong. That's why he bought it in the first place.

The customs also include the postage fee as part of the calculation. I tried reasoning with them that the items I bought is for myself and not for sale but they said that's how they calculate. Next is the weigh, if it's heavy enough they'll most probably start taxing and if you buy things on the internet they have customs in the office that can surf the net and come back and tell you how much are the items.

We're small timers buying bits and pieces from the internet and should not have been taxed.
