btw, they should open the test to 1m tester. as i believe/experience, every such game will have 1st day error "37" (d3). even gw2 has a little hiccups, tho not major.

Every MMORPG game like this also.. can't help it, but they can minimize it.. For phase 1 is 100,000 players, so they are doing testing on it... In the latest producer letter, Yoshi remarks are below; a) Around 100,000 Players were invited. b) They've tested the first few weeks and have problem with login and tested the occurance of FATE to an extent to see how many players will drop/crash/dc when there many FATE occured. c) Last testing phase will commence this weekend to test, so they have come out announcement of it testing scope precisely. |

QUOTE(sai86 @ Mar 22 2013, 11:00 AM) I've been playing 1.0, the old version of ARR with gamepad through out even on end game, is quite fun and relaxing since i can sit down on my beanbag instead on chair, and have my wireless headset plug in for VoIP, i can still chat with USB key board I'll mostly switch between PC and PS3 thou Of course we can log into PS3 with our PC's account, but need to buy PS3 FFXIV:ARR code and register under same account and service of the PC version to enable this feature. |

QUOTE(sai86 @ Mar 22 2013, 10:30 AM) Arrr.when they will invite me That is very very unlikely and costly , risky decision infact.btw, they should open the test to 1m tester. as i believe/experience, every such game will have 1st day error "37" (d3). even gw2 has a little hiccups, tho not major. We can refer to an example here like WOW , or huge game launch like Diablo 3 . As much as these games have millions of subscribers / players , they actually only roughly have 1 million regional concurrent players. And lets not forget its Blizzard's very own server , which is probably some of the most equipped and expensive servers in the world. Square Enix has no experience in managing such a huge game before , not even FF11. Opening the game server at beta phase to that much of players will likely attract a lot of unwanted visitor and not benefitting the game overall ( such as the notorious Filipino Players who are very unlikely to buy the game, or the contribute to the beta phase in general ) Also , You have overestimate the popularity of FF14 , there is no doubt at some point they will open the game to every volunteered testers but it will not be happening at the current phase . P/S : on a side note, doing stress test has no direct relativity with the numbers of players , they just need to have a good amount of players connected to the server and could gradually adjust the bandwidth burden by increasing activity from players to the server . QUOTE(sai86 @ Mar 22 2013, 11:00 AM) Given the current stats and almost obsolete specification of the 6 years old PS3 now , the PC version should always be your ' GOTO ' FF14 ver as the PS3 ver will likely have a lot of graphical restriction .This post has been edited by Convael: Mar 22 2013, 01:12 PM |

Also to note that since phase 2 will be testing the gamepad UI. Im very excited for this due to fact that the gamepad demo is very promising. Infact it could have the same response or better than keyboard/mouse.
Maybe not in pvp but the fact that is can be proven to stand on same ground as keyboard and mouse users what make it exciting enough. |

Waiting for official.. don't want to be putih tikus for se. Glad they overhaul the graphic. Though the grass is revert back to like ff11... The old ff14 grass looks more smooth n more natural. New one is like broken grass and very fake. Guess that's the payoff for making the game more accessible for all players.

Not directly related to FF14 but not a very good news though.
Apparently Square Enix is suffering from a major loss of 105 millions of fiscal year ending this March. The current CEO Yoichi Wada will also be leaving the position .Nothing good has ever happen from SE eversince he got on board . The replacing guy will be the former TAITO director , who has no experience in making any games outside of the pinball and railway minigames. Naoki's response to the fans who is concerned about the CEO's resignation : here This post has been edited by Convael: Mar 26 2013, 10:51 PM |

No wonder there's a few HD remake of FF series(Exclude VII... again...) which I think they're milking the old cows to feed the gamers... Maybe FF XIV had a huge impact like what it happened during the FF Movie.

Interest of staying :| hard to say, Tera at that time didn't get to hold retention of players due to their lack of high level contents or so to say by people... |
