The buttons actually is exact the same size as the normal 3DS. Just that the material build with it is different, better hand grip and most importantly, witnesses said that you no longer need to play Monster Hunter 3G with the circle pad.
Now you can use the touch-screen D-pad to move the camera angle. A big plus. Though the graphics are somehow a little bit blurry cos the size resolution.

last time i own ndsl for almost 1 year.. then i was amazed by how big ndsi xl screen (dunno whats wrong with me,i love looking at all those big screens like galaxy note,but i don't feel the same for tablet although its much bigger).. then i straight sell my ndsl to one of my colleagues and buy xl in 1st week launch ..but i sold it after 1-2 monnths ..
can't remember what is the main reason i sell it .. i think bcause the pixelated thingy and bit heavy ..n hard to play games while baring2..can't remember
now i havent touch my 3ds for awhile ..hurm ..
