Hello Everyone,

I need to give my GP away for adoption.
It is because I cant spend a lot of time with her anymore due to my education.
She is a very loving GP and needs a lot of care and time to be spent with.
My GP is a female.
Please do PM me for further details.

Would really appreciate the new owner could spend a lot of time with her.

Am interested. Do send me her photos & your location + any other relevant details....

Hello, I'm a relatively new cavy owner, nice to meet you all ^^ Here are my cavies:

~Rebecca (Becky)~

6-month old tri-color Abbyssinian. She's a gentle giant, very tame and loving.
Bought her from a breeder, but she was well-taken care of. wub.gif

Just adopted this baby from tjaime1984 last weekend - 2-month old silver agouti Abbyruvian.
Very active and likes to run around the slow-moving Becky. Hehe. Cute smile right?

Would like to ask fellow forumers, what do you feed your cavies in terms of pellets? I'd like some suggestions...
Hay, I'm giving them both timothy hay with a bit of alfalfa as as a treat. For veggies and fruits, I give
kiwi, carrots and zucchinis. Can't find any bell peppers in my local Tesco hmm.gif

2 months old should be eating alfalfa because they are still growing, need more calcium n protein from alfalfa.. give them timothy only when they are about 5 - 6 months old.

i saw you use newspaper and wood shavings as bedding, newspaper is ok but it will get very dirty as soon as they pee on it, have to change it very often otherwise their bottom will be very dirty. Wood shavings are not recommended to use as guinea pigs bedding, google up to see some expert's advice..

i feed mine Oxbow pellets all the time, young from 0 months - 6 months, mix young and adult from 6 - 12 months, now > 12 months so only adult.

as for vege can try to feed weedgrass too, they love it =)

Thanks for the advice. So should I keep their food separate? Because right now they're living together.

Actually those are old pics, I'm using fleece now. Much better of course smile.gif The pic with newspaper is me letting Becky test out the second floor of her cage, but I dismantled it soon after because Moonie likes to jump a lot so she might fly off the railing... haiz.

Thank you for your help, I'll need to think about the whole food arrangement thing since Becky will try and eat the alfalfa too if I put it out for Moonie.

i thought they are both same age unsure.gif you can try to mix alfalfa and timothy together then blink.gif

but for pellet i think it is better to separate it, the young one have to eat young gp food to grow, but old one will become very fat (obesity) if he/she eat too much young gp food/alfalfa.

I'm thinking of having 'forced' feeding times... Like I will put out the alfalfa and young cavy pellets for Moonie first, then I take out Becky for floortime while Moonie eats her food. Then I'll switch the food. Will need some coordination haha. Can't wait for Moonie to get bigger flex.gif

Hi, any Cavy owners from Ipoh?
I just adopted my brother's guinea pig because he's going overseas.

May I know which pet shop in Ipoh that sells the essential guinea pigs stuff (e.g. pellets, hay, bedding) ? And any vet in Ipoh that knows guinea pigs?

Your gp babies very cute... Its made me memory bac my all gp babies were given birth by Sa yi.

I'm back to this forum since 2008 joined. Hi again to All gp lovers.

I have 5 gps but in2013 Jan I lost Sa yi, 2008/11 to 2013/1.. The sadness continue on last Sunday, her daughter small S just after life, 2009/3 to 2013/11. I feel that their life is short, so for the remaining 3 gps, I will use all my efforts to taking good care of them and make them living happily.

Frankly speaking, adopting gps brighten us and a lot of funs.. But commitment is big either.. At here, I wan to thank you Sa yi, because of her, I can experience to see, hold, feed the tiny gps babies, I feel sorry to small s, because of my careless and her digestive system was not strong compared others and die bc of some spoiled veggie..

In future, I know they will leaving me.. But your guys, your silly face, your every single individual characteristics will store in my memory and heart deeply. I won't forget these fur fellow has share their whole life together with me..

To Sa Yi and Small S... To continue urs new life and take care.. Love both of you 😘
