A video of a young girl arguing with a middle-aged auntie over an MRT seat is going viral and it has all the makings of a truly "local production" -- spectacular Singlish, fashionably trendy Ah Lian, grumpy old auntie and of course, the obligatory "why you stare at me". First posted on STOMP, the 4-minute long video shows how what appears to be a minor disagreement blow up into a full-scale shouting match complete with Singlish and expletives -- all this in full view of amused commuters on a busy train. As of Wednesday afternoon, the original video on STOMP has over 70, 000 views. It's not clear how the argument started but it appears to be over an MRT seat reserved for the elderly and handicapped. Although it appears the young woman had already given up her seat, the older woman begins to lecture her over her bad manners, saying she "had to ask for the seat" and that the woman was "most probably coming from China." The younger woman initially tries to ignore the scolding by playing with her phone but when the auntie decides to take a photo of her to "show to the public", she finally shoots back a "death stare" and replies with "I let you sit, you still say so much for what?" As the auntie tries to take her photo again, she retorts with an outstretched finger, "You must take photo for f***!" to which the auntie replies "why you stare at me?!". The shouting match eventually ends when the young woman gets off at the next stop after Tanjong Pagar MRT, leaving the embarrassed auntie by her lonesome self. Now, who says MRT rides in Singapore are without (uniquely Singapore) drama?

cuz we don't use PT as often as them..We drive and sit within our own space but if we use PT as much as them , I'm sure more of these cases will occur....
The aunty is the problematic one here. I want to see who support the aunty? Yes the seat is reserved for elderly/ disabled/ pregnant, but why waste an empty seat? So long as she gave up the seat when the old lady came up, it's fine. But the old lady still wanna make a fuss. She deserves a slap.

waaah.. im seriously annoyed with both the two aunties man. like wtf? wanna *** nia seng them also cannot, later ppl say i dun respect etc. somemore cannot punch their face. what to do leh.. LOL
irritating aunties.. used to them already.. when everyone waiting at the side of gates to board mrt they will nicely stroll to the centre cut queue and block everyone exiting.
you look at them they will just show their arrogant cb face...
personally i think the lady did already gave her seat is good seeing the auntie. she just took an empty seat for a while and wanted it not to be wasted. i think the older lady should at least be happy she got a seat from that lady since the same seating row others don't give a damn continue seating.
maybe later another auntie come and they'll give their seat, another round sets in

She has been dubbed “the most polite ah lian”, generating a large amount of buzz both online and offline.
Young people hail her as a hero, while aunties speak of her in hushed tones. On her Facebook wall, various users have posted their support for her.
All these because she gave up her seat to a disgruntled older woman and then stood her ground when the latter continued berating her.
But while she may have become a cause celebre after her run-in with the older woman, whom netizens have dubbed the “priority seat aunty”, the woman, who wanted to be known only Ms Huina, 20, said: “I am no hero. There is nothing for me to be hero about.”
