I am trying to upgrade the RAM on my Toshiba NB305-A102. I was told by Toshiba service center that it requires an 8-chip DDR3 RAM. I looked around but most 2GB DDR3 RAM are of 16-chips. Anyone has any ideas on this?

QUOTE(memkingdom @ Jul 28 2010, 10:47 AM) Dont believe to what their said. You can upgrade it with 16chips 2GB DDR3. As in market nowadays, 1GB DDR3 is normally come with 8chips, 2GB DDR3 is come with 16chips. If 2GB DDR3 that come with 8Chips that mean it's consider High Density IC. If yours notebook can accept such High Density IC, then it wouldn't be any problem to stick back with low density IC (which is 16Chips). If yours notebook able to compatible with 2GB DDR3 that come with 8 chips, then congrate that be sure this notebook can equiped with single 4GB DDR3. (But I dont think so Intel NM10 chipset able to support high density RAM ) Appreciate your answer. Problem is I've tried with Kingston 2GB DDR3 with 16 chips and it did not work. The screen was just blank and would not boot up.
